Poor signal strength – Affordable, and the dual-band option seemed attractive. However many disconnection problems early on requiring constant resetting and (sigh) typing in password again. Generally stable now, but in a small 2-bedroom unit it has a lousy signal strength and fails to reach the other end of my home. Quite disappointed really. Poor signal strength

Raed the reviews...should have believed them! – Read the reviews which, on the whole, did not recommend this unit...at least not without the latest firmware upgrade. Decided to change it and grabbed it and upgraded the firmware. Couple of days of reasonable use with the bloated software and "utilities" that come with. Reformatted and reinstalled new system and tried without the… Read more

bloatware...both are not really worth what they are asking. Stability/connectivity issues are primarily the issue with at least daily disconnection (guess that is why they had the fancy "self healing" utility which is just a router reset routine! Within the LAN, wireless transfer speeds are abysmal - slower than USB2 and not which obstructions in the way. Haven\t tried any other fancier crap but certainly given a lot more grief than the old tried but true DLink 604G.

Think before buying... DSE had a special on it, so not as bad a con as could have been. Belkin was once a good brand. Poor performance in the real world. requires a load of bloatware to achieve possible useful functionality.

Over priced under performed – The set up wizard managed to copy the settings from my previous modem/router with little problem. However internet connectivity stability is a major issue. Always needed to be rebooted to reconnect, and even on needed a complete factory settings reboot on occasions. Range Poor internet connectivity stability

Fancy packaged rubbish – Let me start by saying this was a replacement to a Belkin Play Max N+N, which was faulty, following hours of pointless troubleshoting with Belkin Support. I waited over a month for a replacement to arrive (this model, a so called "upgrade" for the inconvenience), only to find this also had the same problem. The problem is it loses connection every… Read more

so often, and then resets/re-boots itself, losing all the router settings etc leaving you to have to set it up all over again. Really frustrating.

I am now back to my good old trusty NETGEAR wireless G, and will be buying NETGEAR from now on

It doesn't work - don't waste your time or money

Not happy customers so far – We purchased a Belkin Play Max N600 HD today. Have had endless trouble already with connectivity. Initial installation would not connect to the internet for wireless configuration so had to connect via ethernet cable to get it configured. Purchased this router specifically to deliver data from our two 1TB drives wirelessly. From the get-go had… Read more

trouble getting access to the drives. Regular disconnects from the router occurred, dropping both internet and wireless connection.

After one drop out had to reconfigure the internet connection from scratch - via a direct ethernet connection.

Having said that, we did manage to play two different avi movies from the same drive on separate laptops. However, when one user decided to stop playing their movie, the connection dropped out for both users and we had to reset the router.

Hoping that the retailer will refund us when we return it tomorrow.

We are replacing a Belkin N1 router which is about 4 years old and has worked really reliably all that time - which is why we went with Belkin to replace it - turns out o be not such a good move. Two USB ports capable of delivering data from external, powered drives. Really unreliable connectivity. We're hoping it's a configuration issue but not confident - it looks like we'll be returning it.

Works great but only if you change modem settings manually – Tried to use the easy setup disc but it kept telling me there was a ADSL problem and to contact me provider, but the software never asked for my ISP username and password so how could it connect? I went in the settings via the web browser and set the setting manually. If you know how to do this it's easy but if you don't it could be quite a… Read more

task. So for the basic pc user i don't recommendthis modem/router.

I'm not getting as many dropouts as i was with the old modem i replaced, had a couple days now so sofar so good. Speed is great but signal strenght not as good as the claims on the box. Design, speed. hard to configure, signal strength not as good as claims on the packaging.
