I purchased a vehicle from Bellbowrie Motors in late 2023 and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. The vehicle was sold to me with the assurance that it included a full service logbook. Despite repeated follow-ups, I was only provided with printed records—not the original logbook—which has made verifying the vehicle's… Read more

service history and resale value much more difficult. Since I’ve continued servicing the vehicle with my own mechanic, the lack of proper documentation falsely makes it look like I’ve skipped maintenance.

I was also promised a professionally repainted set of racing stripes, but after long delays, vinyl stripes were applied instead. Additionally, the dealership’s repair work left visible overspray on multiple panels, which was never acknowledged or corrected. The ceramic coating warranty they advertised as 20 years now appears to be void due to the poor quality of this work.

While I was eventually given access to finance details, it took over a year and numerous requests to receive basic information that should have been available from the beginning.

To make matters worse, rather than resolve these concerns, the staff attempted to discredit me by falsely referring to me as a disgruntled former employee—despite the fact I have never worked for this dealership.

I have since escalated my case to consumer protection authorities and feel it’s important that others are aware of what I went through before deciding to purchase from this business.

Awesome Customer Service! – Very seamless transaction with Graham. Fast response on every communication. I live in Sydney and they were in Coffs. Did a virtual inspection of the car and made the deal. Graham was very helpful on providing details as I cannot easily check the car in person. They picked me up at the airport on the day (Thanks Max). After sales were also great!… Read more

Continued lack of response – After my continued requests (at least three) to be removed from their mailing lists, and for them to confirm that this has been done, I have heard nothing from them. This is yet another example of their lack of respect for their customers. Show details

Very poor financial assistance – Applied for finance on a second hand vehicle and after multiple returns to the dealership over many days to supply paperwork. No communication from finance department to us except to request more papers. Poor service, Poor pricing – Went there on a weekend and saw a (new) car I wanted. Went back on the Monday at start of business and the car was $3000 more expensive. "Nah mate, that's the price now (36 Hours later after they had opened THAT morning) other issues, quote a price for a service, then bump up the price for a battery. I went to another dealer and bought my car there.

Holding deposit – I left a $500 holding deposit on a vehicle i was really keen on. I was promised that money back if finance was not approved. The finance was not approved so they have decided they're keeping the $500 and have threatened me with court action for a sale cancelation. Highly unprofessional Show details

Times are to good for this dealership – Amazing in todays time, if you actual make the effort to ask for a quote, in general, your serious to buy a car. Well, Henry from Bellbowrie motors did not think so. It was too much effort to write up the quote. His words where, "Thats my price, take it or leave it" Great position to be in. Dictating terms. This dealership must be making heaps… Read more

If I could give Bellbowrie Motors a zero star rating I would! – We purchased a used car off the dealership for our daughter, we were told it was in PERFECT condition when it left the premises. This was not the case and it wasn't until we returned the car to Sydney only to find out it had more than a wheel alignment issue. We had a Nissan mechanic look at it and they confirmed that it was a bent diff housing.… Read more

For the bent diff housing to be fixed, we were told by Bellbowrie Motors that we would have to drive the car up to them to argue the point, they stated that it was in perfect condition as it was a "mates" car and our daughter was a wreck less driver and that she had damaged the car! We added up the costs and decided that we couldn't justify the drive up and back, up and back, hiring a car etc. We had the car repaired in Sydney by Nissan. We understand the statutory warranty with used cars however thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if they would cover the parts cost and we would cover the labour...nope wouldn't consider it and said we voided it not bringing it up to Coffs Harbour. The fact that they said they advised that they had offered us a tow truck to bring the car up, makes me wonder why if the car was in perfect condition?? Plus the car had not had a service, the oil had not been changed again they advised it had had a service. Dishonest and rude, avoid this dealership by all means.

Avoid like the plague – Purchased a defective second hand vehicle from them. Was not aware the vehicle had issue until back in Sydney. Accused my daughter of damaging the vehicle. Wanted us to drive the vehicle from Sydney back to Coffs to argue the facts. The facts are the vehicle had been aligned to hide the bent diff housing. Confirmed by three Sydney mechanics. Rude and dishonest sales staff – I have found that the sales staff at this dealership are dishonest. I was misled about the condition of a vehicle when I enquirer on the phone. Below Average – Sold me a car under false pretenses and when warranty issue occurred... "oh sorry that was the old owner who sold you that, we can't help you." Skoda has stretched the issue out over 3 months. Totally uninterested in providing any help.

Euro Car Service – After several hours on their diagnostic equipment they provided a "best guess" to the problem with a quote of $875.16 to rectify. If this didn't fix the fault then the costs would be an additional $22,829.87. To obtain this information I was charged $264.00 in labour. I checked with another dealer on 2 x items in the parts quote. One item was to… Read more

cost $475.60 and the 2nd item (note that it required 2 off these) was $7,812.90. Obtained comparative pricing from another dealer & the items would be $400.00 & $6,500.00 - a massive saving of $2,701.40 for the exact same parts from another Authorised Euro dealer.

Highly recommend obtaining a detailed quotation for any works and shop around as it appears Bellbowrie Motors parts and service pricing is over the top.

Do they even want to sell cars? – I went in to look at new cars the other day and was there for about 15 minutes looking around. Saw at least 4 different people working there all just chatting away among themselves. Only one person in the time I was there made any attempt at conversing with me with a 'That's a good one that one' statement before walking off. All of them saw me… Read more

Very poor in my opinion and when I went across the road to Mike Blewitt Ford and Geoff King Holden, both places had someone asking if they could help me within 5 minutes of looking.

Poor service representative – I was very put off by the attitude of one particular service staff member. The first time that I had my car in for a service, all was fine, except that I had to wait for close to half an hour for a lift from the driver into work (a 5 min drive). So, for the next service I enquired as to how long it would be for the driver to be available, as… Read more

otherwise I would call someone to pick me up on their way. The service man stared at me for a disconcertingly long period of time - and I perceived he was trying to make me feel uncomfortable for asking. He also had this same reaction of staring when I questioned him about why I had received communication that the car was overdue for its service, when it wasn't actually. I've had no issues with other staff, but his lack of customer service skills is making me consider taking my car to an alternative mechanic for future services (which will probably be far cheaper anyway).

Where not to go to buy your Jeep Grand Cherokee – When purchasing your next Jeep make sure you do a lot of research into the Company you are going to purchase off. Car salesman is a complete unprofessional – We were buying a new car and wanted to trade in a car we already had however, the car salesman said he could do it better for us and sell our car privately. So we agreed. We went to pickup our new car on Saturday 23/11/2013 and we asked when was the lady buyer coming to look at our sale car. He said to bring down the car on Monday. He phoned us… Read more

early Monday morning and told us the lady couldn't make it and asked if we could bring it on Wednesday instead, we agreed. My husband took the car to him on Wednesday at Bellbowrie Motors, Coffs Harbour, where the car salesman said the lady wasn't coming and that he was looking at the car on her behalf. He took some photo's of the car. He then said that she'd come down on Saturday to pick it up however, he had to work so he said that he would drive to Grafton after work, pick her up and come back with her, we agreed that this would be ok. He texted us at 3:17pm on Saturday and said that he was leaving Coffs Harbour. By 5:30pm, he wasn't at our house so my husband texted him to see how far away he was. He said that he got a flat tyre in his Audi, so they were now back in Grafton. He asked if he could bring her on Sunday afternoon as he was going to the Hoey Moey, we agreed, although very frustrated by this stage. Sunday afternoon came and he said he'd be at ours by 3:00pm. He wasn't at our place by 3:30pm so my husband texted him to check up. He wrote back saying he'd had a big night on Saturday and had been passed out all day. My husband asked if he was still coming, he said he was. An hour passed and he still wasn't at our place (we're only about 45 mins from Grafton) so my husband had attempted to call him several times however he didn't answer. He finally sent a text saying that he had passed out on the lounge and that he'd get his [censored word removed] together and come down now. An hour and a half passed and he wasn't at our place. My husband asked him for the ladies details and that we'll contact her personally. He gave us her name and said he'd get her number. 30 minutes passed and he hadn't given us her number. My husband told him that he doesn't want to sell it to her anymore and that he'll take the original trade-in price, the car salesman said to go to Bellbowrie Motors at 10am to meet with the trade-in manager. My husband took the car there at 10am and there was no trade-in manager. The car salesman said that a car market would take it for a certain price, and told my husband to mention the car salesman's name. He asked my husband to sign some paperwork, but instead, my husband got up and walked out. He went to the car market place and funnily enough, they knew nothing about the car and they had never spoken to anyone at Bellbowrie Motors about it. I phoned the manager of Bellbowrie Motors and complained to him. He said that he would speak to the car salesman and phone me back. He did and left a voicemail on my message bank advising that he'd spoken to the car salesman and the manager and they both informed him that there was never a trade-in deal and as such, they had done nothing wrong.

We wouldn't have bought the brand new car from them if we didn't have a sale for the car we already had. Now we're stuck with a car because they won't take it as a trade-in.

I don't know how they're still in business, I'm completely appalled by this particular behavior and I cannot fathom how anyone in their right mind could treat people like this. I have never met anyone like him.

We still do not know if the "lady buyer" even exists!
