Excellent results...but read why – After reading many negative comments i sought guidance from my paint store. The PDF product specs should always be read for specialised paint use they said. I had to test the existing surface with xylene to ensure compatability. Tick. You wont know whats on the concrete so its a step not to skip. My surface is course so no problems but one area… Read more · 1
was smooth paving so this needed to be etched with acid to leave it grainy. Not doing this will mean it peels. Some posts here mention use on a deck. This is the wrong product for timber!!!!! Any conc surface cannot be smooth either of it will flake off later. It wont bind. And you cant apply it on silicone or sealants. It does adhere well to Waterbase silicone sold as paintable silicone. But it must be cured not fresh.
So how does it look? Terrific. It is a thick paint and a concrete roller cover like a thin foam works well. Two coats with seven days between helps endure its cured rather than a quick recoat.
Now reading those comments i suspect poor prep or wrong product choice.
Rubbish – Prepped surface correctly and applied paint as per recommendation. Flaked after 2 weeks in a garage. Wouldn’t recommend it to be honest. Not sure what to do now. The floor is ruined Show details
Good for paths – I painted a long front path with Berger Jet Dry AquaTread Satin 5 weeks ago - have waited till now to review it to ensure it had been subject to both rain and dry weather before I commented on it. The path was half 1950s concrete, and half about 10 years old cement where a section of the path had been replaced. It had previously been painted, so I… Read more
spent a lot of time scraping off old loose paint, then wire brushing off stains. I washed it down with Sugar Soap and then hosed it down a couple of times to rinse away the sugar soap. I then applied a coat of Berger Jet Dry AquaTread Undercoat (which looks suspiciously like watered down Bondcrete, but that doesn't matter). Once that was dry, I applied two coats of Jet Dry AquaTread, a day apart. So far, no problems - the paint has adhered to both the concrete and cement with no flaking or pealing, even after some very heavy rains. And as part of the path runs next to the driveway, it also gets driven on regularly. Am happy with the result but the preparation does take about 10 times as long as the painting, which is done quite quickly with a roller after cutting in along the edges of the path with a brush. I'd be confident using this product again in similar situations.
Awful product. Never again – I used this product and have been painting for many years. I had professional painters come to.paint deck. They put appropriate undercoat then used 2 coats of this product. It was awful. We followed all procedures and paint wore off quickly it peeled and looked sub standard. It wasn't a high traffic area as I am the only one who uses it. I would… Read more
probably walk on it once a week. Not only was this product a waste if money it cost me 800 dollars for a painter to do it. Shocking. Waste of energy and money. How can yu still sell this garbage when no one likes it. Wish the review had a zero. Disgusting
Absolute waste of good money. This paint is total rubbish – Folks, if you're looking for some special paint to use on your concrete, steer well clear of this low grade junk product. I can honestly tell you it is a total waste of your hard-earned money. You would be better off using cheap paint, or even your kid's watercolour set than use this appalling product. based paving and floor paint that creates a satin finish. Ideal for interior and exterior flooring." This is totally untrue. I have included photos of our concrete to prove that within a few months of applying it, the paint has lifted off and flaked away. Washed away by the rain. So much for their outdoor paint. You wouldn't even use it on the floor of the outdoor dunny. Berger should be ashamed of selling this incredibly inferior product. Now I am gonna have to rub clean it all off and do it again. But one this is certain, I won't be re-coating it with this crummy paint. Wish I could get my money back. We paid over $200 at Bunnings for this junk. Bunnings should stop stocking it.
waste of money – put this down in our back area to tidy it up, has light foot traffic, not sure what is heavy duty about it scuffed really bad absolute waste of money now i will have to grind to put something else down. Don't waste your money Show details
Disappointed – Similar issues with it flaking off after a few days. It was after a heavy downpour (not hail) ... so I am painting a second coat ... it's sounds a bit hit and miss depending on the condition of the original surface of the tiles or concrete ... don't like the idea of dealing with acid then having to wash it away all over my garden borders and down… Read more
the drains ! It has cost me $76.00 which may also be down the drain. More advice at Bunnings would have helped me to decide whether yo have bothered or not.

It was ok – Wasn't too bad to apply did require quite lot of grit. Once applied I wasn't happy with the colour but couldn't base mixed in the colour I wanted. Ended up using another brand and was really happy with it. The area I haven't repainted yet still looks good (coverage wise).
Love the colour and finish but it lasted 2 weeks before bits peeled off. Read the tin first! – I followed the website directions regarding cleaning, 2 coast of undercoat, and 2 coats of Jet Dry Aquatread Satin (with Jet Dry True Grip at half the recommended amount for a bit of non-slip benefit). It looked fantastic and got lots of compliments. But after 2 weeks started peeling off in small sections, and the clear undercoat on the concrete… Read more

The concrete was very smooth. Maybe it would have worked better had it been rougher? I would have been happy to etch the concrete first if this would have helped, but the online instructions said that priming was instead of etching, so that's what I did.
ETA. The online info suggested that using the Berger primer specifically for Aquatread Satin would be adequate and would obviate the need for an acid clean/etching of the surface.
When I had problems with flaking I spoke to Berger. They said I should have etched the concrete unless it was perfectly smooth (I thought it was really smooth, but I guess it wasn't 100%.)
The fine print on the tin also says this, but was so tiny I couldn't read it--I used the website instead--and that info is not on the website. And who reads all the fine print on a tin while in the shop???
Now I wonder if I had done the acid stripping/etching, maybe Aquatread would have produced a good result?
Not impressed – We followed the prep/undercoat/paint instructions (was for an undercover area) and it flaked off a week later with just the water pressure from the hose. I could actually scratch it off with my finger nails. The hardware store said 'must have been faulty' which isn't a good enough answer when it is expensive. I'd like answers on why it didn't work but even the rep can't give me an answer. Expensive and a waste of money.
I agree with you. Iwas not impressed.Did all the preparation, huge area, covered in sweat and to… Read more (+2 replies)
