Deck Restoration Kit For Film Forming Sealers Coated

Good product – My deck was heavily weathered in the sun areas and quite good in the shaded areas, about 25 sq.m. I just followed the directions to strip and rejuvenate the timber, ready for a decking oil. The products worked a treat and did exactly what they were designed to do. I'm very pleased with the result, highly recommended. Show details

Excellent product and highly recommended. I am not really a DYI person and the results speak for themselves. We had a patchy deck previously stained wth numerous coats of Ultragrain (refer pics). We hadn't maintained the boards for probably 6-7 years, so they varied on remaining stain / finish quality. And this kit stripped everything back to… Read more

bare wood to let us start fresh ... perfect. (And no sanding for days getting rid of the paint.) Follow the instructions ... wet the boards, apply the stripper, wait and keep the boards wet ... and 1 hour later, simply blast off with a pressure washer. It is that simple. Step 2 - apply the rejuvenator, keep it wet for 20 minutes, and wash off. Even more simple. Helpful Comments: Wear protective gear including a face mask / respirator. This stuff is good and strong. We sprayed it onto the boards and the fumes are potent ... so a mask is recommended. The pressure washer does make a mess as water goes everywhere ... so choose a hot day and the water can keep you cool .... :). With a residential pressure washer, this cleaning part takes a little bit of time - but minimal effort ... so just do it at your own pace. You may get some little bits of paint left on the boards - this is probably the result of the pressure washer missing the spots ... just reapply the stripper and blast these spots a second time. This could be 1% of the job ... 99% of our boards were clean and ready after 1 application. Overall - this is the kit to get if you want to strip boards back with a minimum of fuss and effort. Would highly recommend the products and the team at Viccon. Thankyou for a great product that actually does what it says it does.

I have included some pics showing before and after application of the stripper (and some close ups of the boards) to give an idea as to what happens.

The perfect product – It is an amazing product. Easy to use and does a great job. I have tried few other products before buying Viccon wood stripper but none of them did the job. The end result is better than I expected! The photos attached speak for themselves.

Does the job – The product does everything it says it will do. In my case previous owners had slapped so much stain on the wood thst it needed to be stripped twice. I think users should be made aware that once you start pressure washing the removed stains goes everywhere literally which I wasn’t prepared for. You need to cover all surrounding areas with plastic… Read more

otherwise as in my case I had to repaint house walls, scrub glass windows etc as the stain turns to a sticky sludge. On my second project using the products I was much better prepared so it wasn’t so much an issue. But if you are wanting to avoid sanding etc this product works. I turned hidden Merbau under a tonne of stain to a fully rejuvenated Merbau deck and boardwalk. Super happy with the result

Excellent – It took longer than anticipated to remove the stripper but the results are well worth it. I Would thoroughly recommend. Happy to provide further photos of the entire deck if required.

Fantastic product – I used wood finish stripper on Sikkens Cetol.?Put it on by roller early morning left for about 90m, scrubbed with a deck brush, then all the old coating came off with a gerni.

Excellent Product, does what it says – I used this product to strip back Intergrain Ultra Deck timber oil from a patchy deck coating (some sections under cover and as good as 3 new coats and some exposed to weather and starting to lose the last coat). Long story short removed almost 95% of the the finish from all parts of the deck. It did struggle with in between deck spacing primarily… Read more

due to vertical surfaces and required additional coatings (Per advertisement). Overall can't be happier as it was cheaper than other timber finish strippers. Some tips included on their website and pamphlet which are valuable are a must as follows:

1. Turbo Nozzle. A definite must if you are using box store electric pressure washer like Ryobi or lower end karcher/gerni. I used a karcher turbo nozzle and while it says it is for petrol/gas it can be used on lower end electric. You can also use a 15 degree nozzle, just takes longer. 2. 60 grit or 80 grit sanding belts with Belt sander. You can use the manual sanding rolls on sanding floats and they do the job but just takes time.

Some things to watch out for: 1. The peeled of finish goes everywhere when you use the pressure washer to remove it. So be prepared to clean after all adjoining surfaces such as walls, downpipes and doorways/French doors etc. Cleans easily with water and a gentle brush from these surfaces. 2. If you have a garden or vegetable patch, make sure you use sufficient water to wash it away from the leaves and roots. 3. If you are time poor and have a medium or large size deck greater than 30 square meters, chemical stripping is ideal and time saving. Note, whichever way, you will have to use the belt sander. So if you have time and you are good at using the belt sander with suction, then use a 32 grit and don't worry about chemical stripping.

Manual stripping is the best for a deck and use of a timber oil also is best for the deck. Everything else is a compromise. So don't expect a compromise to be just as good as simple hard work. Professionals use this as it saves time and if you are time poor, then this is one of the best solutions out there from a cost v benefit.

I would definitely thank the guys at Deck and Fence for an excellent product and an informative pamphlet. Great work guys.

Great Product Excellent Result! – Was a little sceptical about the claims but it looked legit so I decided to try it. Our deck is a hardwood merbau about 12 years old and hadn't had any treatment (recoating etc) for at least 7 years. The timber was grey and marked and colour varied significantly. One section under cover and the other contatly exposed to weather. After pressure… Read more

cleaning then applying the stripper as directed the timber then pressure cleaned again quite easily. However it did take a few hours of slow back and forth with small domestic pressure washer to move the residue. Next time we will go with hire of larger commercial pressure washer. When dry we applied the rejuvinator. Although the direction said 15-20 mins we left it about 30 mins as there appeared to be more 'lifting' of colour over the longer time. And WOW! We were very pleased with the result...looked like new timber the same as when we first had the deck built. Can highly recommend the VICCON product. Photo 1 shows deck before. Photos 2 difference rejuvinated deck and untreated steps. Photo 3 after final finish coat.

Almost right for my job but not quite – I had used Integrain 'Natural Stain' 4 years ago on new Platinum Eco 500 laminated boards. It never cured properly in places and would go mushy in rain. Mould also developed under the stain. Some of the decking was well protected from the weather and in places was exposed to harsh SE Queensland summer sun. The stain may have been the wrong… Read more

product to start with however decking oils apparently (from www. search) don't penetrate past the first adhesive layer of the laminate and mould also becomes a problem. I decided to remove the 'stain' (which is a coating with a stain/pigment, like a varnish) in order to leave the boards unsealed, to weather to grey (Eco 500 has a 30 guarantee) and to deal with any mould issues directly and easily if needed. And that's where Viccon 'Wood Finish Stripper/Deck Stain Remover' came in. It uses a simple direct process, is environmentally friendly and not harmful to the plants under the deck. All good. The 'however' - and 4 stars - comes in, probably not because of the product but because of the nature of the laminate. It's made from the timber of old rubber producing trees and the laminates obviously come from various layers of that timber which seems to result in variable uptake of the stain by the exposed layers some of which remain stained and unable to be removed by pressure hosing, even after a second treatment with the stripper.

The stripper will have saved a hell of a lot of sanding - and therefore $$$$$ - which I wouldn't attempt, . . . Sanding soon!

Good, but will take multiple applications – I have applied one coat of the product to the deck so far and it has stripped some of the previous finish, however I will need to apply at least one more coat of the stripper, to complete the stripping

Over Rated! – Our 8 year old tallow wood deck needed stripping as the previous decking oils used by the original contractor had reacted badly. The stripper had to be used in some spots 3 times, after application of stripper and keeping it moist water blasting was ineffective and it had to be scraped first, a second application was needed, and a third in some… Read more

spots. The deck clean was applied and was fine however the deck still needed to be belt sanded and the edges done with an orbital sander. Be prepared to do a lot of work if you want it to look like new.

Didn't work well for us – We had at least six coats to get off our deck and followed the instructions. It barely came off with the pressure washer and we ended up using it and a hard bristled broom to try to scrape it off. It was a nightmare. We had to buy a second lot of the product to do it again. We still had to scrub it while pressure washing. I never want to have to do this job again. Maybe our product (Intergrain) was just hard to remove.

Great result – Product worked very well, still lots of work and time but way better than sanding! Had to repeat in a couple of small areas but generally very effective from one treatment.

I was sceptical but this stuff is fabulous – My deck hasn’t been maintained for over five years, some parts were oil based other added on areas of the deck were water based sealers, then add in the weathering. My deck now looks perfect.

Just use a sander – The products kind of do what they are supposed to, but in reality, it is really difficult to gauge the effectiveness of the stripper until it has fully dried, but as I followed to instructions and applied the rejuvenator whilst still damp, I didn't know until too late that more stripper was needed. It also lifted the wood grain to the extent that… Read more

the whole deck really needed more than a light sand following the treatment. In hindsight it would have been much easier and cheaper to simply sand the deck in the first place.

Works exactly as advertised – I saw the social media advertisement and was a tad skeptics but desperate as the decking is too big and strip with a sander. This product worked perfectly. There was a couple small and old area that had lots of layers of old paint that just needed a quick reapplication with a paint brush. But, all in all, I’m happy to recommend the product. Also, it works best when using a high pressure house

Expensive, however it works as advertised – Stay away from other products that claim the world yet deliver nothing. This worked extremely well and as advertised. good timber and coating only needed one application.

Keep in mind when purchasing that this is not a substitute for sanding, you will still need to sand just not as much.

Get more than you think you will need in case you need to do a double application.

Recommend a vender set up in WA to sell the product, the freight company i dealt with was a bit last century, definitely not express!

Deck is better than new! – Stripper really worked well and the deck came up better than brand new - couldn't recommend this product more highly. Only challenge was the time to actually strip the old product took a long time and made a large mess.

Yes it works but a lot of effort – 45m2 Deck, Merbau, approx 13yo, multiple layers DWD (original) then Ultradeck. Yes it works but nothing like the promotional video. Multiple applications required, used 12 litres of stripper. 30 hours on 2800psi pressure 15deg nozzle, eventually able to remove 97% of coating. All the coatings on sides of decking had to be cut off with knife… Read more

when dry, stripper / washer couldn’t get into gaps sufficiently.

Stripped material can make a mess, difficult to remove from glass when dry.

Better off using a sanding machine? Stripper more sympathetic to surface undulations & nails etc however still needed belt sander to finish off before recoating.

Will use again on other decks that are newer with less coatings.
