Operators of this business show very little regard for their human clients. My husband underwent a surgery which went wrong and is now unable to walk and be independent. We had to cancel our proposed holiday and our kennel booking. We explained the… Read more

situation we were in all to no avail. The owner deducted the money anyway from my husbands credit card which they had on file from over 2 years previously (in excess of $700) without our initial knowledge. They refused a refund for us and then also deducted a $143 cancellation fee from the credit they said they would issue. Very rude I believe. Be very careful when booking with these people.

Follow-up  · Nothing changed No compassion Still charged full amount but not credited full amount for the future as also charged cancellation fee Not very happy

I adopted my 5 year old wolfhound cross 2 years ago. She initially had bad separation anxiety and consequently all her holidays have been with me. She loves people, other dogs and adventures but just frets when alone. Due to a sickness in the family I needed to travel to Cairns at fairly short notice. I was really concerned about leaving my dog at… Read more ·  2

a boarding kennel and the effects it mave have on her. Different people recommended Berrima Boarding Kennels so I booked her in. From the first phonecall I was reassured and knew she would be looked after. She stayed 5 nights. She was so happy to see me but looked so well and was obviously loved and cared for in my abcense. I was reassured by this experience and would not hesitate to leave her in their care again.

Job well done – Once again holiday time sees us using the services of Berrima Boarding Kennels for our Husky Lola. After her 10 day stay we picked up Lola and she was looking so good after having a bath and extensive grooming which we know from experience would have left Husky hair from one end of the kennels to another. Thanks Trish, Naomi and Team Graham & Sue

A home away from home – I've never needed to board my pets before. Due to having to go away for work a lot more now, it was time to try and find my baby a safe, happy place for her to be. Thank goodness for Berrima boarding kennels. I dropped Kali off last week with a heavy heart. She was happy to see me when i picked her up a week later. I've just had to put her… Read more

back in as I'm going away again. Kali literally jumped out of the car, tail wagging as she was running up to greet Naomi and her team. This made me so happy to know Kali didn't mind staying over for a few more days. It was even better to know some of the friends she made last week were still there. My baby is a Blue Heeler. It takes experienced handlers to ensure she is safe and well looked after. The team at Berrima Kennels know their breeds. This isn't just a job for them. They truly care and for that I am extremely grateful. The kennels are clean and they have a great yard for all to run and play safely.

I will sing their praises for everyone to hear. Thankyou for making such a wonderful home away from home for our babies.

A holiday for me and a holiday for my doggies! – I have been taking my dogs to Berrima Kennels for about 6years now. My first dog Marley, loved going there and always came home obviously very well cared for. It was never too much trouble when I supplied some of her meals, as she was on a specific diet. I particularly like the open exercise area for the dogs because they are not in the kennels… Read more

all day. My current dog first went there last year as a young pup, Noni even brought her dog in to play with mine, how nice is that! I have since boarded her on three other occasions and she gets so excited when we arrive at the kennels. The staff are always very kind and friendly both to myself and my dog. I travel from Sydney, a 2 hour each way drive to take my dog to Berrima Kennels. I know I can go on a holiday without having to worry and I know my dog will also have a great holiday. I couldn’t recommend Berrima Kennels more highly for their wonderful care of my precious dogs.

The Schnauzy Holiday Inn – I needed to travel interstate at short notice in the January holiday period. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find a place for my Mini Schnauzer.Thankfully the staff at Berrima Boarding Kennels were fabulous and were able to accommodate me. I found the staff to be very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. They were happy to feed my dog her own… Read more

food at no extra cost (unlike a lot of others). My dog had been bathed for pickup and was obviously Co for table with the staff. I have left my previous dog and have always found the care to be high quality.

Our Golden Retriever is always a happy customer – Berrima Boarding Kennels. We have used the kennels for a number of years now and have never had an unhappy dog coming home. When he knows he is going on holidays to Trish and her Team he is first in the car and when we get to the turn off onto the property he is excited and pulling on the lead to reach Naomi for his pats. Happy to recommend the… Read more

facility which is always clean and tidy, and the staff who are always helpful with very clear instructions , terms and conditions and obviously love animals.

Great facilities, Caring Staff – Berrima Boarding Kennels probably has the best facilities I’ve seen for cats, with large and airy enclosures, which is really important for us as our cats spend several weeks at a time with Trish and her team. The staff clearly care deeply for the pets and fur-babies in their care, but what is most important is their obvious expertise and… Read more

experience. We have complete trust in the care and attention our cats will receive with Trish and team. Of course the cats are always happy to come home, and they always come home looking well, with shiny coats and no stress. But that trust means we enjoy our holidays, with nothing to worry about, knowing that our cats are in the best of care.

Totally positive experience – Our Lab has stayed with them three times now and every stay has been excellent. She was happy and relaxed when we picked her up today, as always, and is keen to go in when we drop her off. The people there obviously love dogs and she picks this up - she is (like all Labs) completely people-focussed. The place is neat and clean, with good… Read more

facilities, and they take care in checking vaccination records. I would have no hesitation in recommending Berrima Boarding Kennels to any dog owner.

Happy dog – I have just read a very negative review regarding Berrima dog kennels. I must say that I have had the opposite experience. Jed my German shepherd has been a regular since he was a puppy. As soon as we start up the driveway he gets really excited and is always happy to see the ladies there. When I recently collected him he had been washed and… Read more

brushed and looked lovely. I wouldn’t take him anywhere else. Jed currently stays there around 4 times a year from a few days to up to a month.

Horrific experience – Our dog stayed here over the first ten days of January 2022. It was profoundly awful for my wife and I and our two small children. We were late to drop him off and I was abused at the door by a person I assume to be the owner. I gave our reasons, I was apologetic (I had left a message on her phone during the afternoon saying we were going to be… Read more

late but because she had not got this message she assumed I was lying) and I explained that we had been out of phone range most of the day. She didn’t believe any of this. During the tirade I was told I would be charged $100 for being late. I readily accepted these terms and so she got in her car to drive down to the property gate to get the dog who was in the car with my wife and children. I walked down the road in the same direction.

When I got to the gate she was abusing my wife with the same tirade and my children were in tears. I asked her (I had to raise my voice to be heard over her) to please be civil and that we had children with us but she would not stop. My wife was apologetic and explained everything that I had. I got the dog out of the car and she yanked it in to her van. The dog was incredibly fearful. I asked her if she wanted to know how much he ate for dinner and she said no and drove off. My children cried themselves to sleep for the next two nights. It being four days after Christmas, it was impossible to find another kennel.

Ten days later we picked up our dog and it was grim. The first woman was not around but the woman who delivered him to us scolded us because he got loose as she was bringing him out, even though it was her who had put the collar and lead on and was holding him. His desire to get out of the place was nothing short of bizarre. It was like he didn’t even recognise us, that all he cared about was leaving. In my life I’ve not seen many dogs pull on a lead as hard as he was. But, again, it was not about excitement to see us, it was something else. It was like he was insane.

I would love to be able to say that these are simply people who are awful to humans but incredible with dogs. But our dog:

• Had lost a significant amount of weight • Had two strange grazes on his body like he’d been obsessively rubbing it on something. These required treatment • Would avoid having a collar put on him • Drank close to a litre of water when given the opportunity (10 minutes after picking him up) • Ignored my daughter (similar age to some staff who work there) for three days, despite her being his favourite person • Was extremely subdued for the next couple of weeks, a very different dog. Even now, he’s not the same. Not bad but very different to the silly 18-month-old Kelpie that we dropped off there

We also had to throw out his bed because it was entirely soaked in urine. What dog urinates in their own bed? And how long had he been forced to sleep on that bed?

A lot of people seem happy with this place. I don’t know who or how they came to this conclusion. I don’t know what this is based on. We didn’t see the place and obviously you can’t see what happens when you’re not there. But this was our experience. Don’t risk it. There are heaps of kennels in the Southern Highlands. It’s genuinely difficult to describe how toxic our experience at Berrima Boarding Kennels was for every member of our family, dog most of all.
