I have had the Bhave hair straightening treatment 5 times over 3 years, My last one was in September 2024 over a year later and the only curls are through the regrowth from my scalp, very disappointed my hairdresser didn’t warn me my hair may not get my curls back! My advice is don’t do it, working hard now to get my curls back without cutting all my hair off! Show details
I agree with other reviewers. I had the Bhave Keretin treatments for the past 5 1/2 years to tame my thick hair. It was only good for the first 3 years or so. My once STUNNING hair has really deteriorated after having this treatment and cost me a fortune! It’s ruined my hair! My hair frizzes up Immediately after I’ve straightened and is sooo DRY.… Read more
My hairdresser should've seen the damage it was doing and instead of taking my money $350 a pop - and instead should've advised I stop. Absolutely devastated. I agree that, the company should refund bad treatments, as my last one barely lasted three weeks and was all frizzy and crap again. WILL NEVER GET BHAVE KERETIN AGAIN. It doesn't deliver what it promises, and is really damaging long term, plus the required shampoo products smell HORRIBLE!
Dreadful Odour, Stripped Colour, Doesnt Smooth – Hair has lost a lot of colour, gone very ‘warm’ and has a tangled knotty texture, not smooth. Also, hair gives off a rank smell especially when damp. Have washed several times but it does not help. I have had a keratin treatment before which had no foul odour, didnt change my colour and left my hair very smooth, straightened and easy to manage.… Read more
There is nothing to recommend here so beware the hairdresser that pushes this product! Do NOT recommend!
Smoothed my course curly/wavy hair with no damage – Many keratin treatments, including one that first came out and had Melder hide in it! In my opinion, behave is the best that I’ve tried. It smoothed my course curly/wavy hair with no to minimum damage. Many keratin treatments, including when they first came out and had formaldehyde in it! In my opinion, BHave is the best that I’ve tried. It… Read more
smoothed my course curly/wavy hair with minimum to no damage. I also use the shampoo, conditioner, root oil and leave in treatment and love them all.
Not for me – I had this treatment done professionally. I had healthy, shiny, above shoulder length hair going into the salon, just wanted a little less wave. After the treatment it was shiny and very straight. I washed my hair two days later and was overcome by the horrible smell. I can’t accurately describe it except to say it was offensive and strong. month later and it still smells after each wash. My once healthy shiny hair is now dry and dull. This product did not work for me and I would not recommend.
Such a disappointment – Got it done professionally. Was great for two weeks and then went south. The end are frizzy and it looks like straw. I am using the recommended shampoos and conditioner and masques and spray in treatment. In the mornings I am scared to brush it in case it breaks off because it looks so grassy. I want to cry when I look at my hair. I used to be a… Read more
once a day hair attention person. Now I have to brush it every couple of hours to stop the straw hat look.
I feel like the condition of my hair deteriorated 100% after having this treatment and it cost me a fortune! – To be honest I only felt the affects of this treatment until the very first shampoo and then I’ve been struggling to get my hair back to look nourished ever since! It’s killed my hair! It now frizzes up Immediately after I’ve straightened it with the ghd. I am so disappointed. I had to buy a whole bottle of treatment to get this done as my… Read more
hairdresser doesn’t normally use it and with that and shampoo and conditioner to maintain it it cost me over $500!!! Absolutely devastated. To be honest the company should be refunding. I didn’t have the heart to tell my hairdresser as I asked her to source something out for me. I’ll be throwing the rest of the bottle out I think!
After first wash, my hair is just as it was with frizz. Totally waste of money – I’ve keratin treatments before and always had excellent results lasting3-4 months. I tried the bhave and purchased the shampoo conditioner to use as well. After the first wash, I knew the treatment was not effective. It’s as if the product rinsed right out. My hair is as it was before this treatment. So very disappointed and feel ripped off. Show details
Not sure what I did before this treatment – Don’t let the negative reviews fool you. This treatment is great. I’ve had it done consistently for three years and I no longer dread the hair wash day. My bleached hair is healthier and stronger. It’s more manageable and takes 15 minutes to do, rather than an hour. I couldn’t live without it. Show details
Very bad. I wish I could give a zero – I hair long black hair and this treatment ruined my hair. Mow I have extreme breakage and falls. From the day the treatment was done I felt more knots and tangles in my hair. Brushing my hair became a frustrating task. Don’t get fooled by these hair dressers and stay away from the this treatment plus their expensive post treatment shampoo and conditioner. I am now just trying to save my hair with all possible home remedies. Show details
Life changing – I have been getting the Bhave smoothing treatment every 5-6 months for about 5 years now. It is my holy grail, it is the only product that ACTUALLY makes a difference to my hair. My natural hair is very frizzy, boofy, part curly, part wavy, part straight but this treatment means I wake up with just nice, normal hair. It is not pin straight, it… Read more
has body and looks natural. It still holds curl with heat and hair spray, same if I want it straightened. Most of the time though, I just run a comb through it and it looks great.
It is expensive however it saves me an hour a morning (time is priceless) and not to mention all the greasy de-frizz products (that never work) that I don't need to buy anymore.
The only con is that it really strips out any hair dye colour you have used. Its ok, I just time the treatment for when I need my roots done anyway.
Good result initially, until the side effects kicked in! – Although I initially liked this treatment on my hair and bought the large size shampoo and conditioner, I had a bad headache after the treatment. Also, after using the shampoo and conditioner in the following months, I realised that it caused a dermatitis condition on my face. It has taken me almost a year to fix that and I am now stuck with 2 very expensive half used bottles of shampoo and conditioner I cannot use! Show details
Not good but not terrible – I had Bhave keratin treatment last week. After I stepped out of the salon it was great. After first wash 48h later, it was a little bit frizzy. I had Global keratin treatment a year before and it did last 6 months and my hair was really smooth and no frizz at all. But Bhave does not have that frizz free effect. It is expensive though, so it doesn't worth it. Show details

Don’t waste your money – I saw improved results for approximately 14 days and then my hair looked like it did before the treatment. I really don’t recommend it as it is so expensive and not worth a 2 week improvement Show details
Terrible and now keep dropping colour – I had the bhave treatment 5 months ago and it has destroyed my hair / curls are still not back even though I was told the curls would not completely drop and now my hair wont hold any colours at all - permanent hair colours have a life of 3 weeks before I need to have my hair done again - I regret ever having this treatment done. I have had keratin before and never had this happen - this brand is horrible! Show details
Eliminates Frizz – I have this treatment done at a hairdresser. I've tried several keratin treatments, but this one works the best on my hair. It makes my hair very smooth and frizz free. I read that it preserves curls, but it my experience it straightens my hair so I lose my curls. Show details
Hands up the best Keratin ever – I have been hairdressing 14 years and in my time i have used many keratin treatments and this is my favourite Its actually works leaves the hair super soft and is easier to manage as its heat activated cuts styling time in half I have found with some clients you can loose a little bit of the curl but hey there is no fizz :) Show details
Excellent product – I have had this treatment done at least 10 times over the years. It has left my hair frizz free, soft, shiny and easy to style. My waves are still there so my hair has body, but it doesn't feel as coarse or unruly. I can let it air dry or style it as desired. For the people who have had a negative experience: perhaps it has not been applied… Read more
correctly? Also, I don't think 1 product is ideal for all hair types. It is not necessarily a flawed product if your hair doesn't like it. I use Bhave shampoo, conditioner and serum after the treatment and it lasts for about 4 months (I think it has a cumulative effect?) I'll definitely continue with this treatment.
Lost my curls – My hairdresser told me this would tame my frizz and I would not lose my curls. Well I have a lot less frizz but also no curls so I can no longer style my hair curly but my hair looks limp and lifeless left to dry naturally. Worst of all it has taken all the shine out of my hair. Very disappointed!
Frizz free – This is an Australian product and it is beautiful. I am a hairdresser & have used it many times. The odour is quite pleasant, no gloves needed when applying. It leaves the hair is better condition then pre application. It just removes all frizz from the hair but leaves body & movement, it doesn't straighten the hair. I believe people who have had… Read more
a bad experience with this product maybe it was not applied as it should be.
September 5th 2018 Update: Bhave
This treatment is a beautiful smoothing procedure. It does not remove curl or body just frizz. Using Bhave keratin shampoo & conditioner will ensure your treatment will last longer (3 to 5 months) It is an Australian product.
Not at all what I was hoping for – I have done Keratin treatments before. Bhave was just as expensive as my most expensive experience (~$450 with the after care products) and just like others have said, it did not pay off. My hair is just as frizzy and definitely not smooth. I spend just about the same amount of time to dry it as I was before I go for this treatment. I was given a… Read more
pitch that it is made of natural sheep wool and it would make my hair more manageable but what good is it if it doesnt do what is supposed to do.
Like it! – I am a big fan of keratin smoothing treatments and thought i would try this one I have fine wavy hair Yes it smooths, but it doesn't have the gloss and texture i get from my favourite brand Jean Paul Myne but it is ok and definately better than all the others out there. Works for. me! and my hair is straight and no frizz but as with all… Read more
keratin treatments there is always. color fade especially with dark hair ... but that was fixed 10 days later!
Also I don't like having to wait 48 hours for the first shampoo but then again the pay off is worth it...
anything for no frizz!
So disappointed in this product – I had hoped the BHave Keratin Smoothing treatment would help reduce the 'frizz' associated with a Queensland summer and reduce the amount of time required to dry / style my hair over the summer holidays. It was a significant investment ($400 with treatment and products). The process involved my hair being washed with a very strong shampoo (which… Read more
completely stripped my foil colour), product application, light rinse, dry, straighten and process for two days before washing out.
I am so disappointed with the results. I knew that this keratin smoothing treatment was not a 'wash and wear' product and that some heat would be required to obtain smooth, shiny results but I was advised that my hair would be more manageable if left to air dry - this has not been the case. My hair takes just as long to dry off with a hair dryer and still requires the straighteners for a 'styled' end result.
The process was for me a complete waste of time and money.
