I recently noticed a drop in the quality of Big Dog raw dog food and took the time to send them some feedback via their website contact form. No response. I guess from the other reviews on here they must be VERY BUSY answering complaints. The products have become very watery and mushy (I’ve been using the salmon and the lamb variants). When thawed, there is a noticeable amount of ‘liquid’ in the patty. The product definitely doesn’t go as far as it used to and ‘slumps’ in the bottom of the food bowl in a mushy puddle. I’ve been feeding the product to my two dogs for over 5 years now but WILL NOT be buying it any more. They still enjoy it but dogs aren’t that fussy about what they eat. I’m fussy about wasting my money though.

A little below your usual standard – Firstly, I feed my 3 dogs Big Dog Raw dog food of multiple varieties they love it and I enjoy the ease in which I can feed a raw diet to them for the health benefits and with my anxious dog his mental health is better on raw rather than kibble. The food is fantastic and looks great too. Except recently I purchased the lamb, it was gooey like a paste instead of a better consistency. Was disappointed.

Love love the product but don't like the packaging – My actual big dog LOVES this brand, and will eat any of the variants, no problem. That's really good, because I like giving a varied diet from different proteins. He gets raw necks in the morning, and then this product at night. BUT - the downfall is the packaging. We share the feeding in my family, and none of us enjoy the fiddly opening of this tightly packed product. Can't open it without getting raw meat on hands. Have tried using both a sharp knife and scissors, but result is always...it's difficult! What if it was in a tube and you could squeeze from one end after snipping the other? Or something else, it's so messy to open two of these every night feed. (But we do it because the quality is great).

Thanks, but still the same issue 2 years later. Great product, recommend rethinking the packaging.
Hi Ms M, Thank you for this feedback. We did notice in your initial review you hoped for a "tube and you could squeeze from one end" and think our Big Dog Bulk rolls may be a great option for you to do this with! These rolls are available in our Sensitive Skin, Chicken, Combo and Active!
