Handy, but high cost and short life – Our Billi tap system produced instant boiling and chilled water. It lasted 6 years, replacing the Zip unit that lasted 8 years. for it to cool down again). The main drawbacks are the high cost and poor longevity. These units are expensive ($3000 cost 6 years ago, $4000 today, about $1000 more for Zip). The filters are also expensive ($200, last one year) and servicing is expensive. While the Zip unit lasted two years longer than the Billi, it overheated and damaged the cupboards under the sink. The Billi unit was also not trouble-free. While these systems are convenient, they are complicated and the poor quality/longevity does not justify the cost.
Great service by Nick Morris team – We have one of these units at home and the cold water flow reduced to a low slow flow - it took us a while to get it addressed but when it was Billi did a diagnostic test on-site and found the problem and fixed it straight away! Show details
Don't waste your money – These units are ridiculously expensive for what is essentially, an "always on" kettle. They are very energy inefficient; the water delivery is very slow so not very useful if you want anything more than a cup full; the boiling water can very easily splash the user and is IMO dangerous; the "ambient" temperature water is always too warm to drink;… Read more
the filter has to be replaced every year at around $180, and can't be used without one - and if you don't change it the unit simply stops working; And the heating element died in mine after one year, and I had a similar unhappy experience with the service department as the others here (luckily it was repaired under warranty). Do yourself a favour - buy a kettle.
This is an appalling company. Tap doesn't work - 2nd time. Still under warrantee! – From day one this tap did not produce cold water. This was eventually rectified. promised a return call after 20 minutes. After 4 hours, still no call. I rang again......apologies from them, and a claim that even they cannot reach the "team" in NSW.
Worst customer service - avoid at all costs – Purchased a Billi B5000 less than 2 years ago, and last month the hot water stopped working. Orange lights flashing on both the hot and cold water. Replaced the filter (even though it was less than 9 months since the last change) as directed by customer service, no change. up. No call, no follow up. Call back and finally get told it was re-booked for 9th May. Did anyone bother to let me know? Nope. Monday comes along, and tech fails to turn up again. I call several times, and get promises of return phone calls from the the service allocator, the service manager and state manager. Nothing. Now it is Wednesday and I find out the service has been re-booked for next Tuesday, but again no-one has bothered to let me know. Again, promises that the issue has been escalated and a manager will call to discuss and resolve. Finally get a call at 4:45pm, but still no resolution. Totally unprofessional level of service from this company. Avoid at all costs. I should have bought the Zip tap instead.
Tap is great, really expensive servicing – Had to call Billi service as our hot water tap was not working properly after 4 - 5 years of mostly problem free use. They require a credit card details to confirm a booking and was given their pricing. $110 call out fee and $62.70 / 15mins for labour then plus parts. I proceeded. fixed. Takes 1 hour. Next day credit card is charged $503.80. Had to email Billi accounts to get invoice as wasnt sent. Get invoice a couple days later and see the pricing, $143 for new pump kit. Quick google of the part number and can find genuine parts from a seller that I buy the Billi filters from for less than $100 delivered. The tap is great I just find the call out fee, spare parts pricing and $250.80 an hour for a service tech a bit much.

there was nothing online about how to reset or get error codes. Rang Billi customer service for information but was simply told as it was out of warranty would need a service call to fix. The tech literally took LESS than a minute to turn off the power at the wall, press and hold the pressure relief button and turn the power back on (while still holding the pressure relief button down for a further 15 seconds) as the complete fix. This appeared to be a default first fix solution which could easily be done by anybody when this expensive item stops working.
Cost for this 45 second fix was $162.50 - WHY can’t such simple actions be made available by Billi on their website and as a suggestion (no problem if this is only on a ‘no guarantees’ basis, it would at least show some interest in helping) when their customer service number is called.
Disappointing that the company guards such information to possibly force customers to access their lucrative repair service.
This is an incredible tap - never misses a beat!! – We were given our Billi tap as a gift and being a household of 7 people we have used it continuously. It has been used for two years now - literally non-stop and I have to say it is an amazing product. Always gives us boiling hot and chilled water whenever we need it. I would happily recommend Billi to my family and friends. Many thanks!
