Ok, not as good as the previous model – Have 2 rough collies and a cat...equals hair on everything. I had the previous Bissell pet hair model and it never clogged and was easy to use as I am disabled. When it died, I bought this model thinking it would be just as good if not better. Very disappointed. It constantly clogs up. The thing tips over every time you remove the wand to use it.… Read more

I have to empty it at least twice every time I use it because the dust canister is so small. The cord ends up getting caught in the cleaner because the thing attaches to the base and falls off the holder attachment on the wand every time you use it. It's ok for the price I guess, but not an improvement on the previous model.

Love it! – Wow! Impressed! Recently visited a friend who had a BISSELL Wet/Dry type vacuum they loved and I loved the clean floors. I purchased a discounted BISSELL CrossWave Pet for the affordable price, positive reviews and the fact we are a pet house. It’s only my second day using it but I love it! It does a fantastic job sucking up dirt, dust, hair etc.… Read more

My floors look and smell clean, it is so fast and easy to use, I find it relaxing. Give all the floors a once over before bed and wake to a beautiful, clean home. It works wonders in bathrooms, has done a good job of my wool rug and I have even attempted a bit of stain removal on lounge room carpet.

It could be quieter, it’s not noisy but 4 stars as it could be quieter and the tank/battery is not enough for a full clean of our large 5 bedroom home.

Love it & cannot understand the negative reviews.

Purchased Jan 25.

Parts are flimsy – * UPDATE Bissell will not send me a free foot even though the two I've purchased both broke in the same place. I won't be buying another Bissell product. Very poor customer service I love the machine and it works pretty well. I do find if you don't clean the underside whilst you are cleaning, there are streaks. But that's been on a pretty dirty… Read more

floor. I've replaced the foot window assembly twice already. (Had the machine about 3 years, the part is $30-50!) I've asked Bissell for a replacement foot free of charge. But I won't hold my breath

I thought my floor was clean before but no – I have a tile floor, moped it as I normally would and thought it was clean then I used the crosswave. I could not believe how much more dirt came off my "clean" tiles. Drawbacks...does not get right to the edge, it missed about 30mm. it would be better if it reclined more to get under heavy furniture. Show details

Great time saver – I was a little sceptical before I bought this, I'm glad a took the time to check it out. I love the fact that it vacuums and scrubs my floors. Tile grout is a hard thing to keep looking like new, not any more. The cleaner that is used in the water tank is effective and has a pleasant fresh smell. Being able to do hard floor then just touch the… Read more

button to do the carpet is amazing. Fresh clean carpet and tiles with one machine and it cleans itself too. Fantastic, quiet, well designed machine.

Love this product - absolute time saver – We have 4 little dogs, so I was desperate to find something to cut down my cleaning time. I don’t tend to use on our carpets as I use our Bissell ProHeat, but I use the Crosswave on our porcelain tiles and rugs. It does a great job, is easy to use and leaves the house smelling really fresh. It vacuums and mops in one go and I never have to touch up any left over hair etc. TIP: To avoid streaking make sure you do not put too much product in. Show details

Great for dog owners – We have a fully carpeted house and frequently foster dogs for animal rescue so it can be a bit of a mess at times. The Bissel Crosswave does a great job of cleaning the floors and handles most stains with a once over pass. The water tanks do need changing quite a bit compared to a commercial carpet cleaner and it’s fairly heavy to push when it’s… Read more

on but that’s because of its powerful suction. It’s also pretty loud, louder than a vacuum cleaner. It’s important that unless you are tackling a wet stain that you vacuum first to get the best results. So far it’s been able to handle all the fluids that a puppy can accidentally leave on the floor. All around it’s an excellent machine for its price if you need to regularly clean your carpets. One star off because if you are in a rush and forget to empty the waste tank it can leak a little.

Ok for light cleaning jobs – I have 200sqm of floors, mostly polished concrete with some tiles in the bathroom. Because I was unhappy with the result I purchased a cordless Tineco S7 but neither product is ideal. Positives: 1. The Pet is corded so it can complete the job, battery life on the cordless is way too short and recharge times are too long. It also has more power… Read more

than the S7 and seems to get more dirt off the floor. 2. It does a reasonable job of cleaning the floor. Fine for living rooms but it struggles in the kitchen.

Negatives: 1. The Pet leaves more water on the floor and when it dries it leaves streaks. The Pet roller has a longer nap so perhaps there is a trade off between the amount of dirt removed and the appearance of the cleaned floor. 2. You have to be meticulous about cleaning the machine after use. It is not like a vacuum where you toss it in the cupboard after use and it will work fine next time. 3. It does a poor job on the tiles. It only works on smooth surfaces. 4. The roller doesn't reach to the edge of the base and you can't clean up to the edge of the floor. 5. Spare parts are a problem, they have to be purchased from Bissell Australia and they refuse to accept my credit card for some unknown reason.

Would not buy another one just out of warranty and failed – We purchased one from Harvey Norman and of course just out of warranty. The vacuum motor just seized no help from Bissell at all or Harvey Norman. We did everything correctly so all I can put it down to being a dud IThey need to do a lot of work for moisture getting into the motor, but at the end of the day I would never buy another Bissell product rubbish back to the mop and bucket Show details

It should be criminal to sell a product so bad – Hands down THE worst appliance I have ever owned...EVER. It sucks nothing up but instead just blows it all around. The small parts it does suck up, it just stores in outlet so that it becomes congested and blocked and you end up having to pull it all back out onto your floor anyway. You need to do a full wash after ever use (no matter how small)… Read more

otherwise the next time you use it you end up with dust and mud and dirt everywhere. As for the mop function, if you want your floors to be worse than when you started...go for it!

Waste of money – Crap and not worth the money. Does a p*ss poor job at vacuuming. Can't get in along the skirting boards, you need to use a broom to get the crap up off the floor, which just voids the need for a vacuume in the first place. The mop function saves some time while you're there vacuuming for sure, but then it takes 2 days to clean the bloody thing… Read more

after every single use. If you don't clean it every time, the fabric brush inside the vacuumed starts smelling moldy and moist, which will take over your entire house. It leaks dirty water all over my floors afterwards too, so you end up having to clean the floors twice. Absolute waste of money.

Bissell Junk – I bought one of these a few years ago. It lasted only as long as the warranty and failed so I binned it. Compounding my error of choice, I bought another. It has lasted less than 2 years and now will not extract water from carpets and rugs. Bissell refuses to honour the warranty as we cannot locate the original receipt from Godfreys and as they… Read more

are now bankrupt and closing, there is no chance of assistance there. I do have the Logistics packing slip with date and place of purchase but that is unacceptable to Bissell. Two out of 2 failures and I shall not contemplate another Bissell product given the failures and lack of support. Bissell products in my experience have been an expensive learning experience and I would never recommend the brand to anyone. This particular appliance is destined for the Chinese landfill aka council dump. Bunnings, here I come to buy another brand.

Needs replacing already… – As with other Bissell machines I’ve owned, our Crosswave Pet started making strange sounds only 8 months after purchase. Took it back to The Good Guys who said the Bissell rep will look at it in the next few days. After a week and no call, I rang only to be told the rep was on holidays. The manager called me back later that day to advise the… Read more

machine would be replaced. Unfortunately however, they had none in stock but I was assured stock would be arriving within a week. Another week goes by without a word so I call again. Still no stock. Call Bissell customer service who appear to be overseas. Pretty useless. Told they won’t be getting stock until mid-May. So now I’ve been a month without being able to use my machine and not sure when one will arrive. I wonder how long it will be before the replacement machine needs replacing? For the price they charge, these machines should go the distance, but every one I’ve ever owned dies in less than 3 years. Pretty appalling really.

I was starting to love it – I used my Crosswave twice, on hard floors. It was brilliant! until it wasn't. On it's second outing, out of nowhere, it stopped working, tripping the fuse for the house. I'd overlook this as an anomaly if a replacement had worked properly; but I don't have a replacement - Customer Service has been APPALLING. I have been told to find… Read more

(purchase) a box and packing materials sturdy enough to protect this large heavy machine in transit, lug it to the PO, wait 3-4 weeks for a replacement machine. To do this isn't that easy, and I'm not impressed. My bad for buying online, I guess.

But I don't see why Bissell can't adopt the Returns model of other companies : option to 'buy' a replacement which is delivered and the faulty machine collected; money is refunded if original machine is indeed found to be faulty.

C'mon, Bissell - help your customers feel the love!

Rubbish – This mop is absolute garbage. Doesn’t suck up hair just pushes it around the floor. Mopping function leaves dirty water all over the floor even after a thorough clean. The vacuum needs cleaning mid vacuum due to the poor suction. I’ve never had a vacuum that requires so much cleaning. It’s heavy with an extremely short cord. Waste of $$$. Show details

Don't waste your money – Was extremely hopeful for this wet vac but am let down. Minimal suction, doesn't pick up pet hair just pushes it around in front of the vac. It is very heavy and can’t get into corners and skirting edges Leaves stubborn stains on floor. Hard to disassemble and clean Need to buy extra filters frequently. Overrated and expensive. Its Good Until it is Not! – These guys only offer a 2 year warranty, and ours had an electrical fault after 2 & half years, they could not assist with this. I was further advised this is common for this model. The repair is almost the cost of a new one. I have since purchased a different brand. Would never buy another Bissell product. Show details

Don't recommend – Don't recommend any products by Bissell... Bought this vacuum, 2 years later it broke still within warranty, took 4 months for customer service to get back to me and they sent me a new one. It's too heavy and clunky, doesn't vacuum well at all, won't pick up anything heavier than dust.. Spreads on carpet instead of sucking up the dirt and fluff. I've had KMART vacuums work better than this $400 one... Show details

No suction after 3 years – I've had my crosswave for 3 years, always cleaned and dried components as per instructions. Suddenly the suction motor has stopped working. When I took the dirty water canister… Read more

out I realised the machine is no longer sucking at all, the motor has failed. The only noise coming from the machine is the roller head motor. On closer inspection I can see the impeller has completely rusted causing the failure. Don't waste your money.

Waste of money – The Bissell pet pro is a pile of junk! The dirty water tank has sensors in it that are garbage and pointless! I've tried 4 tanks they all do the same thing. The sensors tell the machine the tank is full even when it's empty and shuts the machine off. I've since purchased 3 other brands of floor cleaners and work 100% better than BISSELL! Show details

Godsend! – Well worth the buy! I have 4 cats and a large tiled floor area. The cross wave cuts my cleaning time in half. It effectively vacuums the pet hair and removes surface dirt. My floor looks so clean post use. It works really well on my patio tiles as well. The dirty water canister and the foot cover are extremely easy to remove and clean. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Show details

Not worth the money!! Buy a $30 hand mop and regular vacuum and save $$$ – Bissell advertise that you can go from hard floor to rugs, cleaning both with a flick off a switch Hard/Rug cleanly and easily. This is not TRUE going from the hard floor and as soon as you are on the rug when you flick the switch it leaves a dirty water mark and they you have to vacuum that up! Bissell advertise showing that going from hard floor… Read more

to a rug you use the Rug switch to vacuum but they DO NOT advertise that to vacuum it will only work when you spray CONTINUALLY on your rug otherwise the dog fur does not go through, it gets stuck just behind the filter. Bissell DO NOT advertise that then you have damp rugs once you have "vacuumed" them!! I am so unimpressed especially coming into winter...great damp rugs!! I contacted Bissell and I was told you have to spay your carpet rugs!! I would not have bought this machine had Bissell showed sporting the carpets as well as hard floors. So very disappointed, a lot of money for a very inadequate machine that makes promises it can't keep.

to clean and having such a fiddly machine that has to be cleaned after every use is stressful and upsetting for me. To clean and change the brush roll, which I haven't yet completed is a nightmare because I have to sit on the floor to do it, then absolutely struggle to get back up. I've replaced the brush roll and I've tried over 3 days to put the clear plastic cover back over it, blowed if I can. I'm so disappointed and stressed by it all. It's probably somewhat to do with my age. It's simply not the product for me. I bought it online and I hope to be able to return it and buy something more age friendly.....
