dragged on well past that date. When the shutters finally arrived, the issues only continued. The sizing was incorrect, resulting in shutters that simply did not fit the windows they were measured for. Considering the company conducted the site measure (twice) themselves, this is unacceptable. The poor fitment not only looks unprofessional but also affects functionality — the shutters don’t sit correctly, don’t open smoothly, and fail to provide the clean finish I was expecting. Overall, the combination of excessive delays, incorrect measurements, and substandard installation has left me deeply dissatisfied. For the cost of custom plantation shutters, I expected accuracy, reliability, and quality workmanship — unfortunately, this experience delivered none of those things. I hope the company addresses these issues seriously, as customers deserve better than this level of service.

Delays, incompetence and false promises – We ordered blinds in early 2024 and promised they would be installed in time for my daughter’s 21st in early May. and particularly Michelle was fantastic but the rest of the team including the installers totally lacked the expertise required and made many false promises. I should add this was to resolve existing blinds not a new build. We are totally gutted by this experience and having to spend just short of a year without blinds in a pretty exposed part of our home.

Good at taking money, Bad with service! – If we could give 0 stars, we would. The service we received when deciding on our shutters and sheer curtains was really good. booking a time in for installation. Once we did get it installed, the installer told us that the sheer curtains for upstairs was too long. We called the office and they advised us it would be prioritised and rectified within a week. We heard nothing and so we contacted them again and we were then told it would actually take 3 weeks. We waited and still heard nothing after 3 weeks. We contacted them again and they told us it was ready and it was sitting there but no one had bothered to contact us to organise a day to get it installed. Once we organised the installation, the installer once again told us that it was still long and in his own words - it seemed like they didn't even touch it. Not only is it frustrating for us but also for him and he couldn't believe it too. Throughout this whole process, we tried to stay patient because we understand that mistakes happen. But at this point, they have not been apologetic and have no sense of urgency in prioritising what we need fixed. We paid over $25,000 for this service which has not been the cheapest quote. We were told we would receive quality products and service but we've received the complete opposite. The quality of service stopped right after they took our money. There was been nothing done to compensate us or to make up for their mistakes. We had to have our house-warming and birthday parties without window coverings. We were also told by the salesperson that we would only need 3 motors for the sheer curtains both downstairs and upstairs but it turns out we need 2 for downstairs and 3 for upstairs. The communication between sales and installers doesn't seem to exist. Be careful what you spend your hard earned money on because this has not been a good experience for us.

Up till now, it's been almost 2 weeks since the installer told us the curtains were still too long to install and it's still yet to be rectified. It has become a joke now and there is no sense of urgency to fix this. They have really taken us for a ride - we moved into our new home nearly 2 months ago now. Absolutely unbelievable!

Excellent Customer Service and great price! – The owner Sal came to my place to do a free quotation himself. His pricing was very competitive and even offered options on which plantation shutter to choose from. Overall, I’ve chosen thermo 25 which is better than the regular PVC ones. Sal well explained the benefits of having thermo 25 compared to a PVC type. He even showed me the product lines from his showroom. Overall, I am excited to see them installed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Warning to all – AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Warning to all. Our experience and honest review with Blinds and Designers so far. I placed a $2000 deposit on June 30, 2024, to lock in a $14,000 package for sheer curtains, roller blinds, and plantation shutters for our new house, which was 3-4 months away from completion. that we would choose the colours and fabrics at a later stage, as we wanted to see different options from their premium range. He assured us that no items would be ordered before they did a check measure at our house. Also to be clear, we have not signed a single document to authorise any order confirmations.

On July 15, after reviewing our plans and quote, we noticed that four windows had been missed in the quotation. When we informed the sales representative, he said the price would now increase. This was unacceptable as we were already stretched on our budget and couldn't afford the extra cost due to his negligence. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch, where we were given a lower initial quote only for them to hike up the price later.

The owner then called and said he would cover the additional costs, but we knew corners would be cut elsewhere to cover this. Unsatisfied, we requested our $2000 deposit back. That's when things turned ugly. The owner claimed that items had already been ordered, which is completely false since no one had even stepped inside our house for a check measure. Other blind companies confirmed that they don’t order anything before taking a 50% deposit post-check measure. Even their so-called order confirmation states, "50% initial deposit is required to start the process of manufacturing the product."

Their terms and conditions state 'an order can be cancelled within 12 hours of making the payment, beyond this time frame, an order can only be changed or cancelled if we agree. We may charge an administrative fee if an order is changed or cancelled. As the quotation error was entirely their fault, and the owner should have refunded our $2000 deposit. Instead, he refused, stating thay nothing would be refunded. I dread to think how they'd handle warranty claims or any other issues down the line. It was clear we were about to lose our hard-earned money but we will not be giving up this fight easily.

We will be taking this matter to VCAT.

To say this is poor customer service would be an understatement.

As always, my door is always open for negotiation if this company wants to treats it customers right and provide a refund for the $2000.

Disappointed – Took a deposit prior to coming to property to measure for blinds. Found out that assumptions over the phone wouldn't stack up and a requote would need to be done. Asked for a refund of deposit so we could deal with this later in the year due to family emergency. They weren't interested in any refunds, maybe V Cat will have a different opinion. Should not have to be this hard.

She organized the check measure for 2 days after and 2 contractors came on time. We hope that the rest of the process will go as easy and we`ll have our new blinds installed in 3 weeks as it was estimated.

An absolute nightmare. A very expensive mistake to sign up for something I couldn't get – An absolute disaster! I signed up for motorised roller blinds which were not possible due to it not being possible to get power to the site/s. They sign you up for a product they can;t deliver because they don't have their own electrician to advise on this. Quotes are not conditional on power being supplied. the last minute when they require your own electrician to be "talked through" what to do just before installation. So the blinds have been made to be motorised. A series of stuff-ups followed, to the point that I ended up cancelling my order and forfeited my deposit, just to end the nightmare. Poor communication to the customer and within their own departments who obviously don;t follow up or communicate. Poor product knowledge by staff. A very stressful and expensive exercise. As the saying goes, "you can't complain about the service because there wasn't any that was satisfactory".

Service like no other! – I just can't say enough good things about this company. The service and care I received was exceptional.
