Very professional team at Blue Gum Builders – We were looking to find a builder with a “one stop shop “ approach as building can be extremely complicated. Andy and the team helped us with our initial inquiries and were very quick to assist in providing information and building estimates. Highly recommend Blue Gum Builders !! Perfect Outcome – My build was situated on a difficult site high up in the hills above Hobart. Two builders never called me back after going to inspect the site. I was concerned that there was no builder experienced enough to take on such a challenging build. I looked around the other properties in my subdivision and noticed that there was one name that kept on popping up which was Bluegum. I chose them because of their portfolio of other outstanding homes throughout Hobart.

At all stages the project moved along smoothly and there were only minor cost overruns - which is to be expected on a bespoke build on a steep block. My wife and I are exceptionally happy with how our house has turned out. The attention to detail is there for all to see and we will thoroughly recommend Bluegum Builders to anyone.

Disturbing experience dealing with Blue Gum Builders Hobart – Having dealt with a number of builders over the years I have some considerable experience however dealing with Blue Gum Builders was certainly an horrendous experience. They treated any questioning or criticism as a deeply personal affront, were intimidating, obstructive and aggressively demanding. They were poorly organised and took far longer than was reasonable and then blamed ourselves for their errors. We asked to withdraw from the contract at the early stage of framing as it was clear they were going to be difficult but they refused and began to treat us like an ATM machine with unreasonable variations and unreasonable, unjustified costs. We paid them out an additional $4000 in the end in order to get rid of them. We had another building job on at the same time with another builder who was a joy to work with but I would urge careful consideration before engaging Blue Gum Builders.
