We’ve also been very impressed with the way Damien manages the construction schedule. The Base Stage was completed within about a month, and the transition between each stage and trade has been very smooth and well coordinated. He keeps us informed about the progress on site and what’s coming up next, which gives us a lot of confidence in the whole process.
We feel very fortunate to have Damien managing our build. Based on our experience so far, we’re confident that under his management, the rest of our home will continue to progress in a well-planned, organised and high-quality manner.

On the construction side, Belinda went above and beyond to resolve issues as they arose. For example, when electricity was not available on our lot, she arranged her own generator to ensure construction could continue without delays. This level of dedication was greatly appreciated. Also Belinda and Jessica, communication was outstanding, keeping us informed at every stage of the build and making the process as stress-free as possible.

been dealt with many builders and tradies in the past, he is definitely one of the best. Also, the office staffs are also very helpful and organised. Without them, I don't the project would be completed within 6 months. Although, overall experience is so great, I still want to point out something might be able to be better for a knock-down and rebuilt, because it is definitely more difficult than to build on a land in a new estate. I recon to engage more customer involvement at the stage of enginering design. It will definitely make clients have less misunderstanding at later stages. I know metricon outsource the engineering design, which in my case also means it might be designed by a junior. When I was in the discussion with sales person, it means there is no such design been finalised at that stage, so after the first draft of the engineering design, clients should have a chance to sit with your professionals to have to discussion before it is finalised. Aaron and the Studio team also deserve recognition. The Studio experience was thorough, well organised and supported by people who clearly knew their products and could provide qualified advice. There are a lot of decisions to make when building a home, and having knowledgeable people guide us through those choices made a real difference.
Once we moved into construction, Clinton led the process extremely well. Communication was consistent throughout, and we always felt informed about where things stood and what was happening next.
Anyone undertaking a construction project needs to be realistic that things sometimes will not go to plan (weather, shortages etc). For me, the measure of a good builder isn't expecting everything to be perfect; it's how issues are communicated and, importantly, how solutions are found. On the occasions where something needed attention, there was good communication, ownership and a focus on finding a solution. That gave us a great deal of confidence and comfort throughout the build.
Overall, it has been the transparency, communication and solution-focused approach across the different Metricon teams that has stood out for us.
Most importantly, we are very happy with the finished home. The quality is good; it has been delivered in accordance with the plans and specifications, and the finished product is what we expected when we started the journey.

Follow-up · 3rd review based on the various stages, the previous two were 5 star and now we have been in for 3 months and had a couple of defects resolved I am going to keep the 5 star rating as they have built us a beautiful significantly modified Fintona 37 and we couldn’t be happier. Build is in North Brisbane which I believe is relevant as there are many new builds in the area and tradies only get better with practice.

quality. I still made the last payment trusting that Metricon will keep to their company values. After I moved in the home, I've found lots of defects and reported the matter in their portal as per process. Unfortunately I had a few case managers who were allocated to follow up on my post construction and they also left the business in between. It seems that Metricon was going through a lot of internal restructuring at the time. Finally, I met George from the warranty team who followed up with every defect I had reported. He had been fantastic and had demonstrated Metricon values- people first. Urgent things I've raised gets addressed immediately. The work is still in progress right now. Some items on the list are still pending, however, we are ticking off each item raised on the list progressively. I'm stayed positive and always think though its moving slowly, is better than getting nothing fix at all. Metricon management team also attended my property a few times and assured things I've raised will definitely be fixed. attentive to detail. His communication has always been timely, clear, and thorough, and he has consistently made every effort to understand and accommodate our requests as customers. We have found him to be extremely reliable and trustworthy, and his willingness to assist has made the entire process much easier and more reassuring for us.
One particular example was the pre-plaster inspection. He spent approximately two hours with us carefully walking through the site, explaining the current condition and progress of the build, and answering all of our questions and concerns in detail. He was very patient throughout the inspection and took the time to make sure we fully understood everything. His knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to help gave us a great deal of confidence in the quality and progress of our home.
We would also like to recognise our Building Coordinator, Alyssa. She has been extremely responsive and professional in her communication. The information she has provided has consistently been clear, reliable, and helpful, and we greatly appreciate how promptly she responds to our questions and follows up on matters.
Both of them have demonstrated a genuine commitment to providing a positive customer experience. Their professionalism, responsiveness, patience, and attention to detail have made a significant difference to us throughout the building process.

The biggest frustration has been having to follow up repeatedly about defects and waiting for problems to be properly rectified. We should not have to chase the builder for basic workmanship issues after spending so much money on a new home.
The quality control and attention to detail from the plumbing and electrical trades have been very disappointing. Metricon needs to take greater responsibility for the work carried out by its contractors and make sure defects are properly inspected and fixed before handover.
Building a new home is a major investment, and we expected much better workmanship and after-sales support from Metricon.
Based on our experience, we would think very carefully before recommending Metricon to anyone considering building a new home.

Very disappointing experience with Metricon My experience with Metricon has been extremely disappointing. The house was handed over to me with major defects that made it unsuitable to live in or rent without further work. There were problems with the shower flooding and a sink that would not hold water. over without proper commissioning and was not operating appropriately for the house. I was also concerned that some documentation and required work associated with the handover were not properly completed at the time of handover.
Some of the most serious issues with the land and concrete only became obvious after rainfall. Soil had been disturbed and left in a condition that raised serious concerns about erosion, exposed concrete and potential impacts around the foundation. These were issues I had to discover and investigate myself after taking ownership.
What has been particularly frustrating is that the defects were not properly identified and resolved before handover. After handover, I felt that the responsibility was largely placed on me as the homeowner to identify defects, report them, follow them up and continue pursuing Metricon for repairs.
I eventually had to involve Consumer and Business Services (CBS) regarding the outstanding issues. Even after months, Metricon returned to address the air-conditioning commissioning, but I was still left with concerns about whether the system was properly suitable and fully functional for the home.
The whole experience has been financially and emotionally exhausting. A new home should be handed over in a condition where the owner can reasonably live in it or rent it, with the required work and commissioning completed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering building with Metricon carefully read every part of the contract, understand exactly what is included, and independently inspect and document everything before and after handover. Do not assume that everything has been checked simply because the house has been handed over.
For me, the biggest disappointment has been the amount of time and effort required after handover to get basic issues addressed. Once you receive the keys, be prepared to document every defect and follow up persistently. The warranty officer would send you email doesn't make sense just to avoid repair , she has old play book doesn't work with new technology but she gets paid to exhaust you. So if you build with Metricon expect unncessay back and forward after they cash their money her title senior warranty officer, my neighbour came to witness her argument found her argument doesn't make sense she stated should resign.

Very Disappointing Warranty Experience – Plumbing Issue Still Unresolved After More Than Two Months Our experience with Metricon's warranty team has been very disappointing. despite numerous follow-ups and multiple trades attending the property, the underlying problem remains unresolved.
Initially, a plumber attended the property to investigate the issue and advised that no active plumbing leak could be identified. Following this assessment, a tradesperson from Westside Sealants subsequently attended the property. During his inspection, he confirmed that water leakage was still present in multiple areas, including around the shower area and from the rear side of the toilet.
The Westside Sealants tradesperson also observed changes in the grout and advised that the leakage may have been occurring for some time, potentially behind the wall and spreading into surrounding areas. Importantly, he advised that simply applying additional caulking around the toilet would not address the underlying problem and recommended that plumbers be brought back to properly investigate the source of the leakage.
This is particularly concerning because the initial plumbing inspection ruled out a leak, yet the subsequent inspection confirmed that leakage is still occurring. Despite these findings, we are still waiting for the appropriate technician to properly investigate the source and permanently rectify the issue.
What concerns us most is the lack of urgency. When dealing with an unresolved water leak that may potentially be occurring behind a wall, every additional delay raises concerns about further damage to the property. We should not have to repeatedly follow up over several weeks to have a significant warranty issue properly investigated.
The overall construction of the home has generally met our expectations, which makes the after-sales warranty experience particularly disappointing. In our view, the true measure of a builder is not only how the house is built, but also how effectively they stand behind their work and respond when something goes wrong.
We hope Metricon takes ownership of this issue, arranges the appropriate qualified tradesperson without further delay, and improves the communication and responsiveness of its warranty process.
At the time of writing, more than a month after initially reporting the issue, the matter remains unresolved.
