Insanely expensive increases in power prices. Utterly ridiculous. Compare your pricing with other suppliers as soon as you can to get off of Blue NRG's network. with this slight supply charge increase I'm saving a HEAP of money.
The way this business is being run also seems dubious. In the past Blue NRG was required to pay over $400,000 in penalties for allegedly breaching Victorian energy rules related to guaranteed service level payments between July 2021 and June 2022.
Prior to that Blue NRG paid a penalty of over $1,500,000 after allegedly failing to surrender enough certificates to offset their liability for the 2020 compliance year under the largest energy efficiency program in the country.
Seriously avoid Blue NRG!
Edit 16 May 2026 - I'm now consistently saving just over $2,000 a quarter by getting rid of Blue NRG and switching to Momentum Energy.

Check your bills, I have never had so much trouble with an energy supplier the consistently over charged every bill. bill was correct and they could do anything, after 2 months and many emails and phone calls I told them I was going to to electricity ombudsman they fix their bill and sent a new bill which was considerably less than what they had originally said I owed. So many propels just pay bills without checking, I wonder how many people they have ripped off. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
We left Blue NRG in early June '25 due to repeated incorrect invoices. letter of demand. I told them show me the invoice or go away. Their accounting system is absolutely hopeless. (During our time with them I complained about the incorrect invoices and received an email from the saying they had had issues with their account program - really!)
Hopeless is the word to describe BueNrg. They were a lot cheaper than other providers when I signed my business up with them two years ago, but they are basically the same price as the rest of them now. all over the place in regards to usage. I know my business and what times of the year I use the most power. They say if you have any issues with billing take a photo of your meter and email it to them to get an actual usage read. All well and good if anybody at Blue Nrg knew how to read meters. I first queried my $778.00 bill and by my calculations it should have been $516.00 that's for a month. They said they would review the bill on the information in the photo of the meter I emailed them. Their next bill was $4034.00 !!! We are now waiting on bill number 5 to see what amount they draw out of the hat. Their customer service team are always nice but if they are giving you the option of sending in your meter details then at least have people trained to know how to read them.
Overcharge – Worst energy I wouldn’t give even 0 rating. They overcharge and all the bills estimate and it not actual reading meter. I have change to different company and now I receive bill of 3 month amount is $2550 but with blue energy every month over $3000. I called them why you overcharge and they said may be you used more electricity when you were with us. Please think twice before joining this company. Show details

credited to our account. Why would a new retailer do their work...? We no longer have an account with them!! They would never refund the money as I have had this happen with past retailers. To top it off, they locked our meter box. I managed to get it open to do a reading myself and take a photo. I need that photo as our new retailer is putting in a smart meter. Blue NRG is after big profits from unsuspecting customers. They are sneaky and have very poor business practices! WARNING DON'T DEAL WITH THEM!!

were supposed be court documents.. i rang the EO to get releif, they said the documents were not a court doc.. the lawyers were acting for their credit company as well as Blu, but their total was 9400 Blu want 7700../
i queried their lawyers on the amount by email..saying is this normal conduct for you what happens if it a pensioner..and thinks this bill is their fnal amount...the lawyers then blocked me..
i then contacted blu again, and they had no idea the length of time the final was for..
insisted that i was lying that the lawyers had blocked me, even though I had the email confirming it..
at no time did I say that i wouldnt pay a reasonable amount..they finally admitted there was NO read, it was an ''estimate'' based on my record by a computer!..and had been generated by computer!.. and my recored was far less clearly shown on my bill..which they recognised?
so NO ONE no human was actually responsible, for anything..and the 7,700 was the bill to be paid..
based on 3 different amounts, no general usage and appalling accounting errors, and estimates..and virtual reality...its cleartly shows an enormous 5 month s=pkie on the bill then it goes down..and I removed 2 fridges..! its on their bill!
i was told on the phone by the Ombudsmen, since 2012 the industry is de regulated, there is simply no rules of conduct and no body to control them..
as she said..''its really the wild west Pete''..its frankly worse its collusion, and organised crime..
as AGL is being sued at present for monopoly..
they now have handed it back to the credit company..[onsold the debt] and think that is that..
I am not surprised as Hydrogen is coming, getting rid of these crims..when we get home hydrogen kits that run on water..and people are switching to solar in the meantime.. and these losers are dipping in as much while the sun shines..i literally have all the paper work for this..if it hadnt happened, I wouldnt of beleived it..
it takes 10 minutes to change suppliers..keep them guessing I wont say honest, thats to far of a stretch..[it took me 10 months to get 11k over charge back from Energy Aust, 10 years ago.., just appalling..] it is a haven for dishonest practice..its so corrupt.. and dont get me started on ausgrid..and putting in another 28,000 klms on top of the 26,000 klms of lines we have... 52,000 klms of lines.. Deceptive and sneaky business practices, seeking to profit from unguarded customers – This company seems to deliberately employ tactics to take advantage of customer who aren't on guard and looking for changes to their bills. for electricity) they will just send out an email which will state that the price is changing. In our case our price was adjusted from a price below the reference rate to 42.5% above it, a more than 250% increase. I could not find another provide charging that much regardless of plan, and it's hard to find a provider offering a rate above the reference rate (other than "greenpower" or similar), so to be 42.5% above it just blatantly excessive. If you deal with this company you will need to be on guard at all times. Check every bill, compare it to the last one, because if you just ignore them and trust that the company is doing the right thing and will remain reasonably competitive over time you will be unpleasantly surprised.
wth!!! they tripled the cost of my energy!!!! – Since I choose them, I have no idea how the cost of energy is created and why one month I pay only about $200 and then suddenly next month something about $700!!! have this kind of billing. In addition, they stuffed up my disconnection because they don't understand the process managed by AUSGRID. They then told me it would take 48 hours to speak to their supervisor to fix a problem they themselves had created.
