DO NOT BUY BNESIM products including eSIM. I give BNESIM a negative rating or zero stars. I bought a eSIM I never used. The steps /process referred to iPhones and not Android. So I didn't bother. 1)The email said to "If you don’t wish to renew your subscription, be sure to cancel it at least one day before the renewal date to avoid any charges.… Read more

To modify or cancel your plan, open the BNESIM app, tap the side menu, go to Subscriptions, and manage your subscription details." It was very hard to navigate to unsubscribe. There was only an option to "deactivate" under my Profile. I was still charged a renewal fee even though I unsubscribed before the due date. I was told there was no refund option, only a credit. 2) Even worse was when I arrived back in Australia, BNESIM changed my telecom supplier to Optus, which I don't use and never used. I copied their message "That looks like BNESIM’s standard arrival notification — BNESIM normally auto-connects to a local partner (e.g., Optus) if your plan covers Australia and mobile data roaming is enabled" I removed my credit card details and deleted the app.

Doesn't work! Waste of money! I was only able to see if it works after arriving in Japan in March '25, but I never got connected when automatic carrier selection is on. I chatted with the BNESIM support and was told to select KDDI manually. After that I was able to get connected, for no more than 2 mins each time in a series of unsuccessful… Read more

attempts. I then chatted with the support again. This time they said this case will be escalated to the advanced team and I'd be hearing from them within 24 hrs. Yes, you're right! The never responded to me afterwards! Sadly speaking, this is the second time I run into the same situation with them. I bought another esim in 10 mins from EIOTCLUB and I got continuous, stable connection ever since. So which one is the scam?

Foul business practices – I purchased the data plan for Panama, which was a one-time purchase. Bnesim silently enrolled me into a monthly subscription and kept billing me after the initial purchase. I consider it foul practice that you are enrolled into monthly billing without your clear consent and intention. I can see other similar reviews here. I had to cancel my credit card and deal with all the related mess. I will never use them again. Show details

Data speed atrocious! – Bought the physical SIM to travel in Asia. Used mostly in Bangkok and once out of wifi range it was pretty much like not having any coverage at all as data transfer was so slow it was impossible to use - phone said SIM was using mostly 3G network ...not even enough to send a whatsapp text let alone navigate using google maps. Total waste of money. Show details

using both eSim and (plastic) sim – I've been using several eSim providers in the past, small and big. Lately I used BNE eSIM as their eSIM doesn't expire the leftover credit. Today I own 2 of their eSIMs in my family. Their price per MB is similar to what you can find online from Airalo, Ubigi and other providers (i.e. competitive price). I used their eSIM in Greece, Italy,… Read more

Netherlands, Israel , Germany . worked perfectly , no complaints. it costs about 10€/3GB for EU. the problem with their eSim is once installed to your phone it can't be transferred to another phone (i.e. all credit is lost if your phone breaks). Therefore, I also ordered last week a plastic SIM (same rates per MB but S&H is extra 10€): order came with DHL within 3 days ! first time I installed it into the sim drawer it didn't work : I contacted support and after 5 emails they provided me with technical instructions to change some SIM setting via android SIM toolkit app. then it worked fine.

BNEsim also offers a management application for iOS and Android. personally I find the UI to be a total mess, since it only fits small font . its not only a management app, it also acts as a VOIP calling application where you can buy voice minutes. minute price is not competitive . for example: 50 minutes to EU (zone A) will cost 10€ . that is 0.20 €/min. other VOIP providers I use give me 0.024 €/min to EU mobile line or 0.013 to EU landline (for example to Germany) . So BNEsim minute cost 10 to 20 times more than other VOIP providers you can find online. for that issue: they lost 1 star in rates. I get it, they tried to simplify the call price model ("one price fits all EU"), but in the way they made everything much more expensive. You do get upon signup: 5 minutes talk free. So I tested the call quality: it was very good. They have a US Whatsapp support number.

It is working good. Although I gave them hard task to analyze a SIP signaling issue to their landline . they failed to process the request. never got an answer. (for that they lost a star in service) they can lease you a land line number (requires proof of citizenship) , tried it once , it didn't work for me. they also offer other phone services (like conference number) which I didn't use so I cant comment.

Be warned! their app, by default ,on each new purchase will choose the auto-renew plans rather than one time plan. you must actively change the purchase options each time. many people forget , discover it months later and that alone is a good profit for the company. lost one transparency star.

Aug 2023: there is a way to migrate account credit to a new eSIM with help from customer support. its not free : they charged me 1€ to migrate the eSim to a new iPhone.

Can’t travel without it – I’ve been using BNESIM for two years, I traveled to Australia, Bali, Italy, Singapore, India, and it never let me down. I have been able to use my phone and to make calls just like I do when I’m home. I no longer have to search for a local SIM every time I travel and the best part is if my BNESIM has any credit left after a trip it won't expire and I can use the same SIM for my next journey. I love it!

Lagging delivery, otherwise ok service – The delivery option I selected said "5-7 days worldwide". It was further explained, on WhatsApp, that this includes weekends, so it should arrive in one week tops. I ordered it Feb 1, it was shipped Feb 5 (already too late to arrive in one week), and it arrived almost 3 weeks after order date. Even if there was a customs problem, they shipped it… Read more

after 5 days making it impossible to arrive in the said "5-7 days". I had the cards delivered to Asia via private channels and the cards (I ordered two) generally worked in Korea and China, although in Shanghai there were intermittent problems during which they didn't work at all (1 day out of 5 spent in Shanghai).

I think I just said goodbye to my money – I really don’t know what to think of this company but they have problems delivering. If they can’t find you on google they give it to the nearest pub. Not sure if it’s just a case of ‘take your money and run’. Beware

What a ripoff – We also bought this at rome airport tired and not functioning at our best. We paid $1300 for what we thought was a local sim for 6 weeks. Yes, I should have paid more attention but $1300 for 6 weeks is the price of a new phone. Buyer beware!

My best purchase – I discovered BNESIM thanks to a review on product review.com.au. For few dollars of activation I got a way to receive unlimited calls from my family. I live abroad (Dubai) and the happiness of receive a call from my grandmother has no price! Thank you BNESIM!  Show reply

My first virtual sim – Arriving to Rome, at the international airport i was approached by a seller. Usually i am quite diffident from "assault salesman" but the girl was cute :) and i needed a cheap way to call back home. The offer was not cheap or at least not cheap as i then discovered on BNE SIM website, but complete: they gave me a local data sim card, inclusive of… Read more ·  1

5GB of traffic and a virtual sim on BNE SIM network.

BNE SIM is amazing: i got a lot of minutes to call any destination in the world and a local number (italian one) to receive calls. They installed for me an application on my iPhone and explained how easy it was to use it.

Voice quality: incredible. Nobody could believe that it was an international call.

At the hotel i discovered that i could request for only 3 euros (around 5$) an Australian number. From that moment i started receiving calls from free from my family and friends. And i am still using the sim, even after coming back home. It is amazing to have a second number on my phone.

Conclusion:

Buy the virtual sim online, before leaving. It is much cheaper and immediate: it is a virtual sim, so digitally activated, no shipment needed. Then use your hotel wifi, no need to activate any expensive data sim.
