Bombora Custom Furniture

Kitchen benchtop arrived four days late, causing significant delays to the build – I was so excited to order a very special kitchen bench-top to be a statement in my open plan living space. Unfortunately this has not been a positive experience for me. Our agreement was that I would receive the bench-top on a date agreed a month in advance, with two cutouts. What I got was a bench-top that isn’t flat, four days late, and one cutout.

The delivery date of the bench-top was confirmed a month in advance. I booked a builder, electrician, plumber, and glazier to fit the timing around the delivery of the bench-top. On the scheduled day of delivery, I contacted Bombora to confirm the time and was told that the delivery ‘is completed by an external company and we have no control over their scheduling’. I had not been warned that this could happen, as we had always talked about the delivery date with certainty. The bench-top arrived four days late, the build is significantly delayed as the tradies have other bookings lined up. What should have been a three day build has now extended into ten days and counting. I’ve had to postpone the glazier and electrician, and the builder has been trying to finish my kitchen in-between the job he has scheduled for this week. I’m still living in a building site, without a working kitchen. The delay is expensive and stressful.

The bench-top arrived with a significant bow in it (5mm+). The builder (who is also a carpenter) said that it was a problem and should never have arrived bent. I raised it with Luke who said it was normal. I don’t know if it is normal to have a bowed bench-top or not, the builder wasn’t impressed.

Throughout the process I was told that I would receive the cut out portions from the cooktop and the very large sink. Only the smaller cutout arrived. When I asked twice for the second cut out I was told that there wasn’t one, but they could sell me a chopping board for $150.

I'm sure the furniture is beautiful, but I would warn against anything that requires installation.

True craftmanship providing a feature for our living area. I'd searched the internet for months and entered countless shops and finally stumbled across these guys who deliever true quality and value for money with good service as well. They allowed us to choose the pieces of timber to ensure we achieved exactly what we wanted. Quality workmanship. Good service. Value for Money.

Bespoke and beautiful – We’re in love with our custom-made bed from Bombora Custom Furniture. The workmanship is excellent and husband-and-wife-team Luke and Alison made everything so easy with their professional and friendly approach. The price was reasonable compared with other Australian designers who seem to charge a considerable amount to customise their products. Friends of ours have been so impressed that they’re off to furnish their homes with some Bombora!
