Online Exclusive failed to provide a notification that the item was delivered despite us being home all day. Having paid $50 for delivery, a doorbell ring is expected. Instead, we found our item in the public loading dock 1 day after the expected delivery date. We noted the goods arrived in a damaged box. Next, after we opened the item to build, we found 2 large cracks in the base piece.
We’ve followed Freedom’s Online Exclusive’s instructions to lodge a warranty claim. Freedom Online immediately requested for more photos the next day which we promptly addressed. Since then it has been radio silent. After a total of 6 days, it would be helpful to get an update or approx know when we can expect a response. We’ve also tried calling Freedom customer service, and have been informed the Online Exclusive team is separate and only operates via email with no phone call option. When we tried to escalate our ticket, Freedom Online Exclusive’s website stated that if we lodged another ticket or send multiple replies to our one ticket, our place in the queue would reset to the bottom.
With no update or communication as to when we can receive a refund and how they will be picking up this damaged item, we are frustrated and regret purchasing from this brand. It’s incredibly difficult to get a resolution. Our advice to others is to purchase from a reputable brand who cares and uses reputable shipping companies, rather than cut corners, dust their hands and place blame on the shipping partner when things go wrong.

A perfect handover. We started at Capalaba and they found the product we wanted (which had been discontinued) in Aspley. They rang connected us with a store person who was incredibly helpful. Junior and Sam provided exceptional delivery service for me today! As a single mother with 2 daughters we were definitely going to struggle getting our new lounge unwrapped and inside. Not only did they pull of a very tricky delivery into my study (no way I could have done it without them) they also took the huge box and packaging away and made sure the lounge was fully set up before they left. 10 out of 10! Follow-up · -Fabric care was very easy to use. Simple instructions and easy to apply. -the lounge set is comfortable. Firmer sofa cushions than I was expecting at first try, but I find it comfortable and enjoyable. -LOVE THE RUG! Nice contrast to the darker decking and I think the lounge complements well on top. ***DO NOT BUY FROM FREEDOM** We ordered 4 stools from Freedom online on 25 November 2025 which we received on 3 December 2025. When we received the stools we found the following issues: 1/ the colour was not as advertised (as per our phone, laptop… Read more

They were a dark grey, almost charcoal, not the light-mid grey as advertised. 2/ the first stool we attempted to assemble had a misaligned screw hole which meant that one of the 4 screws could not be attached on the legs - a major safety and functionality issue 3/ the screw on the plastic chair pad on the leg of the stool stuck out from the pad which means that it would actually scratch the timber floor when the stool was pulled out or pushed in
We contacted Freedom immediately on 3 December 2025 with these concerns and have been given the run-around or ignored since then. They asked for photos and details which we supplied that same day. Then they asked for more photos, which we immediately supplied. Then they asked the same question again, all in an attempt to delay. We made several phone calls where we were assured that the supervisor would contact us prior to the ed of the business day. No such contact ever occurred. 2 phone calls and 10 emails later, we have not received a refund. Freedom has just said that they are awaiting a response from their supplier. We have made it very clear that we have a contract with Freedom and rights under consumer law and that their arrangements with their supplier has nothing to do with us. Fair Trading also advised us to tell them this. Still nothing. We now have no option but to lodge a formal FairTrading complaint. This was our first and last experience with Freedom. BEWARE: DO NOT BUY FROM FREEDOM.
Follow-up · An update: we did eventually receive a refund, but not before reviewing Freedom online and pursuing the matter with Fair Trading. After literally in excess of 25 emails and 15 phone calls, we received a refund 24 days after the complaint was raised. Believing this was a reputable brand (we bought quality items directly from the stores in the past), we placed an order online for a Buffet unit paying close to half thousand dollars. TL;DR: These guys are the worst, do not buy from them. They treat their customers like dirt, don't care when they stuff up and won't take any steps to rectify things. and they informed us that it would be two weeks before we could get a replacement.
I asked them to at least refund the delivery fee, and they refused as they were 'replacing the item for free, and the delivery service had already been done'. They are also rubbish at follow up and I've spent hours on the phone talking to staff who refuse to help.
As this stage, we have been storing their faulty item in our baby room for two weeks, meaning that we can't organise the space.
The only compensation they offered us was a $100 gift voucher to use at their awful store (what can you buy from Freedom for that price anyway?).
Total shambles, avoid at all costs.
