Ordered books, they never came – I have waited 3 weeks for books that were “in stock” and were supposed to arrive within 7-10 days. When I looked up my order on the website, it showed that my order was “awaiting stock”… However when I checked whether the books were still on sale in their store, the sales page shows the books as being “in stock” and that they would take 7-10 days… Read more

Fantastic service – I ordered a hard to find book, hoping it would make it before Christmas. It made it to me within a week. Never Have Books – I've ordered three times from Boomerang Books, and twice they haven't actually had the book in stock and the order has had to be cancelled.

Poor service & delivery – Placed my order, website 7-10 days took over 4 weeks. Happy to blame Australia post and yet they have no tracking set up. Ex-bricks & mortar book store owner. for one AusPost stuff-up. Nice people to deal with also… they still have personal customer service… (they are not a big operation, but they at least they try hard).

By the way, I am not associated in any way with Boomerang Books, except as a very satisfied customer. As a disclaimer, I was once a book store owner for a few years in the 90's and Boomerang Books ticks all the boxes for me. I can and do recommend them based on my actual experiences.

Most, if not ALL online book stores "drop-ship" from either the supplier/distributor/publisher (with some exceptions). The supply chain has been delayed or disrupted somewhat for the last 6 months due to COVID-19 and many releases have been delayed with stock held up on ships at sea. Some of the larger publishers are now air freighting titles to Australia, particularly as this is the peak consumer purchasing time in the book industry leading into Christmas.

Boomerang Books would have been affected by this industry-wide disruption like most retailers (both in-store and online), except maybe Amazon.com.au who also ship internally within their global organisation. I go back in time to the 90s when I had to do some tricky stuff to get stock (book titles) that would have been delayed by either transport logistics or publishers' intransigence in holding back releases due to local (AU) legislated draconian book industry protections when that same title was readily available overseas.

Don't Use - They don't deliver – Ordered a book, they said it would take 7-11 days, 25 days later still not here, didn't even send it within the time frame. No Apologies, no offer for a refund, their staff are clearly just feed up with people asking them why they're so pathetic. Show details

DO NOT USE! – I paid for books a month ago only after you pay do they say the books that where in stock are now not in stock. Can’t get through to them online as they make the capture impossible to complete. My bank is taking legal action to pursue stolen funds from my account! Joseph

them about these things they'll just quietly keep your money and not care about supplying you with what you paid for. I was then offered a credit voucher, not even a refund for my money that they've been holding onto for almost four months now.

Boomerang of their mistake, the arrogant Managing Director '[name removed]' canceled my order and refunded my money without my permission instead of taking the necessary steps to procure the book that I ordered.

refund when unable to deliver – this is the best online book company I've ever experienced. They tried hard to get my order, when unable they emailed me personally to advise me to cancel the order. that was about 9 months ago. I finally gave up & submitted to their advice, cancelled the order & next day my money had been refunded in full. 5 stars for business process & integrity, trustworthy.

Ordered 2 books, one still sourcing after 10 days!!! – Ordered 2 books for my uni units. After placing the orders I received emails stated that the books will arrive 7 to 10 days and then another 2 emails stated that the books will be sourcing. After 10 days, one book is on its way and another one is still sourcing. I would advise you to think it through before placing an order with this bookshop.

world is complex with print on demand, copyright issues, distribution issues. The estimated time for delivery is only ever going to be an estimate, it is always wise to email them and check first if something is required urgently. They make thousands of book titles available and are my go to website.

read that I could cancel my order at any time and receive a full refund with the book being returned within 21 days. Turns out I did need to cancel this order as my boyfriend wanted the hard copy cover not the paper one. When I called to cancel, I was informed that this was an ‘Imported Order’ and I could not cancel it. I couldn’t believe it! Where did it tell me that this was an imported order? As far as I had been informed, this book came under the general refund policy stated on their website. If it was in fact an imported order, then I needed to have been told that throughout the checkout process so I could decide whether or not I wanted to proceed. I questioned the girl on the phone who ended up passing me onto the Manager, [name removed]. He shouted at me for questioning him and hung up. Unbelievable! I contacted Consumer Affairs who advised that yes, it did need to be stated on my order whether it was an imported book so I opened up a case with them. Consumer Affairs contacted Boomerang Books this week and advised them that their Refund Policy does not meet Australian Consumer Law. No surprises here, Boomerang Books still refused to refund or contact me to apologise. The next step is to take them to court if I want my money refunded. Now, if I was a small business and Consumer Affairs contacted me to tell me that my Refund Policy did not meet Australian Consumer Law, I would call the customer straight away and apologise for the error and offer them a full refund. When you are at fault, you need to own up to it and rectify the situation. Because of the error in their refund policy, I am the one who has to suffer. And a message to [name removed], you work in customer service. You should absolutely never yell at a customer. It is incredibly unprofessional. There are plenty of other amazing book stores out there who actually care and look after their customers. Stay away from Boomerang Books!!

Appalling Management – I did not get what I had ordered and so emailed to find a way to solve the matter, did not get a reply, so I then called and spoke to the Manager [name removed] I think his name was-he was extremely rude, arrogant and failed to resolve my complaint. Definitely will not use this website again, waste of time and money.

Great customer service! – Very unusual nowadays to receive great customer service which I did from Jon at Boomerang Books. Great communication all the way through the purchase and even post purchase when I had a paypal query. Definitely recommend!

Fast delivery and good services – The books I ordered arrived within 2 weeks and were in excellent condition. The bookstore also features Boomerang Bucks that allow customers to use them as credit on next purchase. There's communication on every stage of processing so you know when your order would arrive.
