Exactly what I wanted - nice-looking pram with all the features but without the ridiculous pricetag – Although I have not yet used it (I am 25 weeks pregnant), the pram has all of the features I was looking for - and was an excellent price. I have read the other reviews on this website about the Ruby Cruze and realise that everyone has their own experience which is fine. I have to say first of all though that we had no trouble whatsoever putting it up. We bought the pram on Thursday and hubby put it up this morning probably in around 10-15 minutes all up. Agree that the instructions weren't the best, but it wasn't difficult to assemble. Nor do we find that it is difficult to fold up - in fact, it is very easy.

As I like the look and function of the carriage-style prams, I was looking for a reverse-handle pram so that I can have bub facing me when he is newborn. The only other pram I liked in this style was the Peg Perego Uno but having tested the Uno in-store I thought it was terribly difficult to steer and I didn't like the colours and fabrics that it came in - basically I thought it was too expensive for what it was ($750).

I hadn't seen the Ruby Cruze in-store until recently. As all of the wheels are the same size I found that it was easier to steer in both directions than the Uno which, like many carriage-style prams, had bigger wheels in carriage mode making it more difficult to steer.

We also managed to purchase the Ruby Cruze at 40% off the original $300 price, so we got it for $180. I figured that once baby comes, should it fall apart or give us any problems, then we will just buy another. We'd still be paying only half the price of the Peg Perego and most of the other prams on the market. Looks good; great price; practical reverse handle; comfy and stylish padding; comes with boot cover to save losing socks and rain cover; easy to assemble; big storage basket underneath and zip compartment at the back The only concern I had was despite the padding I thought the backing felt a bit hard, but will be lining underneath with blankets. For the price we paid, and for what we wanted, it is perfect.

Where did you buy it

Hi Lesley58, we bought it from Myer. We have now been using it for 8 months and have taken it over some pretty rough terrain, and it's still going strong. The wheels could probably do with some greasing now but still happy with the purchase considering the price. We are also now getting to use it as a stroller with baby upright (he's now 8 months) which is much more practical in terms of accessing the basket underneath, and for steering it. When it's in carriage-mode, it can be a bit of a pain to steer, but this is true of all of the carriage-style prams.

Anyway, hope that helps, best wishes to you :)

Terrible – Unfortunately this site doesn't allow a negative rating!! I'm now shopping around for another much better pram even though my baby is only 3 months old as I can not bear to use the ruby cruze. Learn from my mistake and do your research on other prams with this site and ask other mother's what they like about their prams as you can't always trust the shop attendant. There are much better prams on the market and I think it's wrong that this one is still being sold - particularly for the price they charge for it.

Anyone looking to buy a near new, barely used Bootiq Ruby Cruze pram??? Haha! I don't think I can even give it away!!! Looks comfy and well padded. Found it easy to put down and up in the shop. Fairly light. Nice viewing window in the hood. Horrible horrible horrible!!! I wish I could take it back. It's rickety and hard to steer. We spent numerous attempts and 3 different people trying to get it to close - to no avail. Had to take it back to the shop to be shown how to close it. Even they had trouble. Wouldn't give us an exchange or refund though. Still have trouble closing it so it remains open in the garage.

It most difficult to steer when baby is facing parent - which is why I originally bought this pram. Baby jolts around with every bump.

Bub wasn't comfortable in the pram and never fell asleep. She' fine in a stroller, even at 3 months so I think it's the pram not the baby.

Basket underneath is difficult to access, and you have to raise baby from fully reclined position to access. Just great when you want them to sleep or are a newborn.

OK – good for price.. good for newborns.. good for shopping, although the wheels crash into everything and don't shop with baby facing you, it's impossible to move! good for short walks on a flat surface. feels a bit "rickety" and unsturdy now that she's big, but great for first 6 months :) the complete recline is great when baby sleeps (my now 12 month old still happily sleeps in there (although she is too tall for it and her legs hang down now). Reverse handle is great, main reason for purchasing this one. the basket underneath is a good size. having lots of brakes and the tether strap was good for a sence of security! lots of comfy padding (although i always added a blankie). lots of extras at no extra cost, nice material easy to clean. good price. the instructions to assemble are REALLY unclear, for the first 3 months the wheels kept falling off and i wondered why, (mind u I assembled it a week bfore having baby "no honey, i can do it myself!!") then th MOTH took a look and said its backwards you nong!! so they were unclear, umm it has to be THE MOST difficult pram to steer EVER! all my friends/family/partner complain about how hard it is to manouver esp if baby is facing you, it's like a LIMO! now that baby is mostly sitting up looking at the view, and me trying to jog with it, makes it very very hard to steer! when the pram is laid back, you cannot access the basket underneath, unless u lift the backrest a bit. my wheel too squeaks, people stare I have that "i know it's annoying" look when i get the glares.. i have a can of WD40, but ummm it's all the way upstairs :P

OK – I am quite happy with the pram considering I wasn't able to afford anything more expensive. I was looking for something sturdy and comfortable for baby so she can sleep in it wherever we are. I found most 4 wheel prams are hard to manuever, so we do have a lightweight stroller for outdoor outings and holidays. It is quite comfortable, my baby sleeps in it all the time when we go shopping or to a friends house. For the price, I'm happy with the reverse handlebars, size of the shopping basket and lining of the pram. Harness is good and I like how the boot cover and storm cover comes with the pram at no extra cost! although it is 10kg had no trouble putting it in the boot of my car. I like how it has 2 breaks front and back. a bit hard to steer but you get used to it. Wheels squeeked a bit after a while but was ok after sprayed wd40 on them. The backrest only has 2 positions - the seated position a bit steep and baby kept slipping down. Found it difficult to collapse at first, sometimes the suncover gets stuck between the hook and lock so I always have to make sure before I lift it into the boot. It takes up most of the room in the boot of the car. Didn't like the instructions on how to assemble it!
