Great unit.. starting to fail – Hi everyone, just wanted to let everyone know I've had this boiler for over 8 years. Recently it intermittently wouldn't start, upon inspection (by qualified technician) it was overheating and the pump was not starting. A reset would fix however the pump is faulty and needed to be replaced. I was quoted $1500 for a new Bosch Gundfos pump.… Read more
Outrageous. I'm in Melbourne. Anyway, after a lot of googling I found a UK boiler repair shop. I sent them some photos and they replaced my faulty pump for $140 - that includes delivery! They sent me a reconditioned pump. Happy to pass on details if anyone needs it.
Left out in the cold – Purchased and installed in a new build and worked smoothly for 3 years before the heating would fail to kick in. The problem continued with continuous support from the supplier/installer who were liaising with Bosch on my behalf. The problem got worse - in 20021 15 fails and in 2022, 24 fails and no one could identify the problem. Bosch… Read more
finally advised that it was now out of warranty and now the installer is no longer dealing with them. Great allround result!
If I could give negative stars i would – Purchased in 2016 at the recommendation of plumber and Reece representative. Told it was made for the dual purpose of Hydronic heating as well as serving as the home hot water service. Worked for approx 12 months before first issue of it cutting out. Authorized repairers unable to replicate or identify fault. They returned twice more during the… Read more
warranty period, but ended up charging us a service fee as they were again unable to find the fault. Tried speaking with directly with Bosch. They couldn't have cared less. Contact authorized repairer was the advice, despite explaining that I'd already done this. Months after warranty expired, different authorized repairers identified the heat transfer plate as the problem and replaced - cost $700+. Twelve months later, same issues arose. Heat transfer plate replaced once again. cost $700. This time it lasted almost 2 years before the familiar pattern. Hot water lasts about 90 seconds, get ridiculously hot, before boiler overheats and shuts down. Totally random. Fails for days on end before working fine for weeks, until the error becomes more and more frequent. Authorized repairer tried replacing every other part before arriving at the similar conclusion - heat transfer plate needed replacing. At least by now they're getting cheaper. $400. Starting this week, 11 months since the last replacement, the same pattern is repeating. Had a Rinnai Infinity before this unit. Wish I'd never changed. Will be replacing the unit entirely this time. Utter waste of money. Avoid at all costs. This is a piece of junk!
Good boiler backed by excellent service – We have been impressed with the performance of the heating system on frosty Canberra days. Although we are not using all heating panels, there seems ample capacity. Canberra Hydronic Heating provided quick and high quality installation when the previous Sime boiler collapsed and their ongoing service also has been excellent. Show details · 1
