Not a good experience - even from the start – Our machine is 2 and a half years old and hasnt had a hard life as there is only 2 retired people living at home. Probably 4 washes a week max. It has always had an issue with the F16 error message appearing and the door having to be open and shut a number of times before it seemed to feel inclined to work. This problem has got gradually… Read more
worse...it usually takes about 5-10 mins of door opening and closing these days...annoying. The only other issue is the atrocious job it does with washing towelling items. I think it may be that the rinse cycle does not wash out all the washing liquid so when the towels are dry they are hard and stiff. These are good quality $50 towels. I had actually got used to having cruddy towels but after staying in an airbnb last week I realised again how truly awful they are....I have tried extra rinse cycle options, adding vinegar to the wash and various fabric softener to no avail. I would not recommend this machine. I have been in contact with the Service Centre as the door issue is now beyond a joke and am awaiting a call back from a local service technician. Part of me will be happy if he is unable to repair my existing machine and I will try another brand.
Great Washer – Cleans very well and doesn't wear out clothes. Machine is Quiet. Like the 15min cycle. It has never failed us and I would buy it again. The noise is acceptable for such a machine as it is in the powder room. have it now for 5 years. best feature is the hot water washing as it really takes the dirt out of the clothes. Show details · 1
Dead after 3 years – Lasted less than 3 years before it started failing, does not rinse or spin now. This was our first front loader and we weren't impressed. I expected better from Bosch, we will choose another brand now. This had a 2 year warranty, I rang Bosch but was told politely that they would do nothing. Show details

I'm happy to report my washing machine is excellent – My machine is nearly two years and has not missed a beat. I cannot report one fault or gripe with it. So I'm really surprised to read the issues other people have reported here. However I'm a big believer that every company or brand are capable of producing dud machines, it's just how they treat you after that matters. This is why I take out… Read more
extended warrantees on pricey items such as fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, etc. Cheaper items I don't bother.
The machine is quiet and water efficient. Being a 7kg washing machine, it takes a good load. I have to admit I'm very mundane when it comes to my washing. I only use the cold wash option. General I select the dark load program and 800 spin speed, which takes 48 minutes. Occasionally I might use the super 15 program if the kids surprise me last minute. But the clothes always come out clean and ready to hang out. Like most, I use the machine regularly, so to date I must admit I'm very happy all round.
Broke on 3rd load, extremely slow and terrible service for warranty repair – Machine stopped working half-way through it's 3rd load of washing with a smell of smoke and repeatedly setting off of the RCD safety switches. Waited over one week for a technician to come and he took 5 minutes to diagnose a faulty motor. It's been 5 business days since Bosch knew the problem and still waiting for any information about resolution,… Read more
despite being "expedited" and 4 phone calls to chase up. Was excited to try a Bosch product but never again. No confidence in the brand or the service.

A Write-Off After Less Than 4 Years Of Limited Service – In August my 4-year-old washing machine stopped completing a cycle. The machine was turning itself off for no reason, but the drum was spinning, but now it doesn't anymore even if I have not used it again. In September, I contacted Bosch which wanted to send a technician at $88 to me without offering me a price list for spare parts to estimate… Read more
possible repair costs. If the problem is related to the control panel, then the new part would cost me $400 (UK price on the net) plus labour. If the problems is also with the drum, it will be more. Since now the drum doesn't turn, then maybe its motor is broken. So I am left with no options but writing the machine off and buying one of a different brand. I use the machine in general once a fortnight, but not at all when I am away. So in less than 4 years I must have done less than 100 loads. I prefer to save $88 towards the purchase of another washing machine instead of receiving a massive quote for the repairs of my existing machine.

Problems with door – I have a problem with my machine not starting after I shut the door, within a minute a F16 error appears and I have to open and reclose the door, getting so frequent I actually have to stand and watch to make sure the machine is going to start, very disappointed am starting to regret my purchase and wish I had stayed with my previous brand

Endless noise – WE bought a Bosch washing machine from an independent dealer in 2008. We were very excited to have a machine that was so water efficient. Yet, it took forever for the tub to balance the clothes and sometimes the machine just gave up and I had to drag sopping wet clothes out of the washer. It also sounded as though an airplane was taking off and rattled the entire house, even from the basement. Several visits from the dealer made no difference.

Not happy that the door seal ripped after 15 months – My daughter persuaded me to buy a front loader. I had always had a top loader. We have had many Bosch products and have been happy with their longevity and quality. Once I got the hang of it I have loved my new machine. It is certainly more gentle on the clothes and I have noticed a reduction in our water bill. The day before Good Friday I had… Read more
done two loads and when I opened the door (which had towels and sheets) I noticed a weird gritty substance on the door and clothes. I wondered if it was a tissue which had been left in a pocket. In a hurry I put it in the basket and when I was hanging it on the line a rubber ring fell to the ground. I realized it was actually part of the rubber seal. I got my warranty out. We had purchased it on the 18/1/14. I phoned and the after hours number put me through to the UK. (even though it was only 3pm in Perth) She said I would get a call in 48 hours. On Tuesday morning I had a person call. I found her mannerism to be quite confrontational and as I work in retail I consider her peoples skills to be wanting. I explained what had happened. The salesman we bought it from instructed us to wipe the seal out every wash and leave the door open which I have diligently done after every use. I always watch when I start a load to make sure there are no items caught (she said it can only take a little piece that you probably couldn't even see) I said that I did most of my washes in cold water but towels and sheets in hot (she said I had to do a lot in hot to kill bacteria) - point taken. Every remark I made she seemed to have an answer back in not a compassionate manner. Today I had a pleasant fellow come to fix it. He took photo's when he replaced the seal and said it was very unusual. He would come across one in a year. The tear was at the back of the seal and not at the front which apparently more the norm. I phoned the lady from Bosch. The serviceman talked to her and then to me she just constantly kept saying the same thing "the warranty does not cover the seal". When I requested where I might find that wording, she wasn't able to inform of this. She wasn't willing to listen or take it further to make an amicable resolve. I have now had to pay $192.00 to get this fixed and I am so unimpressed. I have looked after this machine better than my other old machine which still works perfectly at our holiday house. I have fulfilled all the necessary care to it. You think you purchase quality items that cost a bit more but will last longer. I have always shared with friends how happy I have been with our Bosh items, but not only am I so disappointed with the machine I am disappointed with the attention over the phone. I would appreciate some contact with an explanation and preferably offering some form of refund. Customer relations need to improve guys.

Awesome - best washing machine ever had! – Purchased my Bosch washing machine just on two years ago now, and absolutely love it. It was recommended to me by a friend of my husband's who was in the retail industry and I am certainly glad I followed her advice. It does clean the clothes way cleaner than any previous washer I have had and if this is the quality of the Bosch washers, I'll… Read more · 1
certainly be sticking with this brand. Such a variation of cycles, which is great. I can adjust the temperatures for the different cycles (like to use cold water for most things; use hotter for towels etc); it's not overly loud; and yes, you can use the top of it for storage. I've read some of the comments here, but I have had no problems at all and would thoroughly recommend this washer. The information sheet to explain the different cycles is a bit confusing, and I would suggest to Bosch to simplify that a bit, but apart from that, this machine is perfect. Thank you Bosch.
Took a While, but – I was so excited (sad, I know), to get this washing machine, but until I understood how it worked, wasn't sure I loved it. Being used to a top loader, where you tell it how much water you need, I was a bit alarmed when not much water seemed to be in this new machine, but soon worked out it still does a better job, with less water! I often turn up… Read more · 1
the preset temperature (I prefer to wash in warm to hot), which increases the time a fraction (something else to get used to - how long some loads take!), but have noticed a huge difference in the cleanliness of sheets and towels particularly. I also up the spin speed as I put most everything in the dryer (lazy!), and this has cut the drying time of everything considerably as well. It is a bit of a shock to first hear it in action (more like a high pitched hum). but I have gotten used to that. I also like that I can use the top of it for storage, something you can't do with a top loader!
I have decided I love my washing machine, and have had no problems so far Looks, Efficiency, cleans well Some presets take a LONG time! (so don't use 'em!!)
A good review to counterbalance the bad ones – Our F&P top loader died after 7 years - but it had had a hard life, used every single day and had moved house 6 times, including 3 interstate moves. I wanted to join the in-crowd and get a front loader. Everybody I knew was raving about them and I felt I had the laundry equivalent of a Betamax in a VHS world. My budget was strictly no more than… Read more · 3
$800 and I was eyeing off a Hoover but the salesman talked me into a Bosch. My sister loves her Bosch, so in the end I didn't mind.
I was somewhat alarmed to read all the negative reviews of this particular model but I have to say that so far (11 months in) it has not given me the tiniest bit of trouble. I probably use just about all the cycle options (delicate, sportswear, Allergy Plus etc) and find them all very good. The machine cleans my clothes well. It is not unusual for me to do 3 loads of washing a day (I have 4 small children, 2 with dust mite allergies) and it is used every single day. Hasn't missed a beat. The beeping when the cycle is completed doesn't really bother me all that much, in fact it can be quite handy because I might not always hear it at first if I'm busy with other things.
I like that any bits of debris I might miss just collects in the rubber door seal. I also like having the option for a 90 degree hot wash if we have a gastro episode.
I think perhaps with hindsight I may have been better off sticking with a top loader because of the quicker wash cycle. When I've got 5 sets of sheets to wash it is very time consuming, but that is a hassle due to the size of my household rather than the machine itself.
I am of course making an effort to look after the machine - I don't overfill it, I use good quality detergent, I leave the door and detergent drawer open when the machine is not in use, and wipe it down occasionally. But no complaints from me. Reliable, variety of wash cycles, cleans clothes well, gentle on garments This particular model does not have a child lock which is a problem if you have an inquisitive toddler.
Does not rinse well – We recently replaced our 7 year old LG front loader with a new Bosch Maxx WAE24463AU. The LG was quieter washing and rinsed better. But the Bosch is a quieter spin cycle. We bought the Bosch because they have the name and reputation and the salesperson recommended them. One particular reason we didn't go with a new LG front loader was because I… Read more
didn't think it rinsed quite well enough either. But it was a better rinse than the Bosch. As I have skin allergies and sensitivities to laundry detergents, it is a really important consideration. However, our 7 year old LG rinsed better in comparison to the Bosch. The reason we bought a new one was because the LG spin kicked the bucket and it was better value to buy a new machine than get it repaired.
I wouldn't buy Bosch again now, I'd go with a top loader or LG again. Rinse cycles do need more water, otherwise it just doesn't really rinse! Washing might be ok in a trickle, but rinsing has to have at least a water level you can see. My complaint now about new generation front loaders, from using both of these machines, is that they just don't seem to rinse well and so aren't that good for allergy sufferers. I am not impressed by the so called 'allergy' cycle on this machine. I was told it was a higher water level, and had special allergy magical healing powers (joking), and rinsed much better than the other cycles. But I don't see any difference and to be honest I think that cycle title is a bit of a have. If my skin gets worse through using this machine I will write another review about that! Spin is good with good range of RPM 400 -1200. Can add extra rinses (but might be there all day for enough). Quieter spin cycles. Does not rinse well so clothes still have some residue and towels are hard when dry. Does not fill with water properly most of the time. Unreliable. Water level filling has something wrong with it.

Know better, choose better.
Problems from the start – Purchased one of these on recommendation from HN rep. I know the Brand name well and thought they had a reputation for quality. The machine is significantly more noisy than our old Westinghouse washer. The machine will beep at you endlessly at the completion of a cycle demanding your attention that you attend to it immediately. Worst of all, the… Read more
inlet house split at the connection on the rear of the machine and the aqua stop didn't stop anything, water flowing around the laundry and through cupboards.
Then the warranty fun begins, ring Bosch, they put you onto an independent service and repair company that can only attend your house on Tuesday's during a full moon at a time to be determined the night before visiting. So there's a morning off work waiting for them to arrive, and don't think you can obtain the new part and fit it yourself without special dispensation from Bosch, the service company don't want to know anything about it. Bye bye little old westinghouse washing machine, we miss you.

Nightmare! – We just bought a Bosch Washing machine two weeks ago and had to return it because it gave us constant problems including electric shocks. We are living in a remote place so for us it was another 2 days trip to town to swap the machine for the new and 200.-AUD more expensive model. Now the Bosch WAE24463AU does not complete a cycle. It stops and… Read more
sits for hours. I stopped it at some stage and could not turn it on afterwards (No lights at all.). It took lots of attempts to get it going again. I only have a couple of towels in. I even weighed them and they are even wet below the allowed 7kg dry weight. So overloading is not the problem. It seems to have trouble to turn the drum or is that normal that it moves but does not complete a full turn??? It completed the separate spin cycle and it drains fine. The very first empty run last night also seemed to be just fine. I don't know where the problem lies. It is very frustrating. I am trying to get the same towels washed since 9 hours!
2 models and only trouble

I'm sending it back to the shop – Although I believe the Germans do things really very well, I feel this particular machine is a lemon. I have only had top loaders in the past and second hand ones at that. This machine was my first foray into a grown up, brand new washing machine. Alas, everyone of my old beat up machines did a better job of washing than this one. Quite… Read more
frankly at first I thought I was doing something wrong. But today was the last straw when a bunch of white t-shirts came out with the same dirty marks on them they went in with and yellow sweat stains on other things. Not to mention the dog pee which was still on the doggy bed clothes.
As my machine is only a couple of months old I, instead of agreeing to get Bosch's service department number, said no, just give me a new machine. I will not start the endless back and forth cycle to repair a lemon.
I have decided to pay the difference and upgrade to the next level. It's pretty

Broken after 6 months! – The seal around the door broke after normal day to day use; Bosch is refusing to fix it as the seal is not covered. Quoted over $200 to fix a washing machine that is only 6 months old! I am in the process of re-doing my kitchen now and was going all Bosch, I will not touch them now! Customer service is dreadful. Customer service, bad warranty service and poor quality.
