cooktops have been tempered glass, which we’ve found very easy to clean/maintain. Unfortunately we didn’t look closely enough at this one, because although it looks as though it would be relatively easy to clean, once we removed the pan supports/pot stands, we realised there is a step up (another level) for each hob, which is enameled metal! We thought we'd be able to clean right up to the jet, however this makes the cleaning process both fiddly very challenging and time consuming. Not only is it far harder to clean, we’ve found the enameled metal chips fairly easily. We’ve since learned a friend also purchased this cooktop and goes to huge lengths to keep it clean to prevent the challenging cleaning job (she covers what she’s not using in foil) !!!! The cooktop works ok, just looks streaky and dirty most of the time! Take a good look when purchasing, by removing the removable parts, to see how easy or challenging it will be to clean.

Not as good as it looks – After the very first use one of the hobs was permanently stained and that was after light cooking and cleaning straight after. I have been using it a few weeks now and I can see that one by one, the same is happening to the others. This is still after I clean it every day, so the hobs are of poor quality. Apart from that, being black glass, it is very hard to clean to a streak free finish, it is especially difficult the clean around the edge of 5 squares that the iron plates sit on. The only thing that is great about this stove is the 9 variations for the flame size - "flame select". Makes cooking easy from melting chocolate (without having to use a Bane Marie) to simmering soup to very high heat to sear meat. IMO, this positive does not outweigh the negatives. We have just completed a complete kitchen reno and it is very disappointing that these stained hobs are letting the whole "new look" down. I hate to think what they are going to look like in a few months' time.

High price tag for a mediocre product (and a customer care team that doesn't care!) – Frustrated and highly dissatisfied with the stove top condition and the customer service resolution. (2-3 times a week), and following all care instructions provided in the instruction manual. The burner cap has specs that cant be removed regardless of what I try, and the cast iron grid has also worn in a strange way exposing the core elements (see pictures). I believe this is an unreasonable amount of wear and tear, for a premium product used in moderation in under 2 years.

I reached out to Bosch within the warranty period. But the care team stalled my request, asking me to try different cleaning products and methods etc. None of which helped. And after multiple email exchanges and phone calls, they simply wrote the case off and said now that the warranty period has ended - they have no more responsibility for the item.

Impossible to clean, control knobs have chipped/cracked – I bought this cooktop because of the brand and must say I'm extremely disappointed in many of it's features. it has a crack in it too. Very unhappy with this purchase, it wasn't cheap and is very poor quality.

Have always purchased Bosch but so disappointed with this cooktop – Great looking appliance, easy gas ignition and really nice cooking control. However, it is so difficult to clean. I thought the ceramic top would make cleaning easy but it streaks, is very hard to clean around the controls and even after cleaning does not look really nice. Show details

Great Improvement – We replaced our 60cm old cooktop with this 75cm alternative. No extra bench cutout was required and with the controls being at the front (our old one had controls on the right hand side) the gain in cooking surface is amazing, and welcome. I particularly like the fact that the control knobs move in preselected stages so that you don't need to keep looking under a pan to see flame heigh. Easy to use, easy to clean and efficient. One more point. A had a question about product registration with Bosch, so I phoned them late in the evening. (For the cost of a local call) The phone was answered and question resolved.
