I probably won't buy a Bosch washing machine again. Only had the machine for 2 years before it stopped working. Before that, I owned a Fisher and Paykel for 15 years and it never skipped a beat. Even having an extended 3 yr warranty with the retailer couldn't help the machine from breaking down every 12- 6 months with something different every… Read more
time. Then dead on 5 years the motor and/or motherboard went and luckily both were replaced under the Bosh warranty but that took 2 months to fix and countless visits to the laundromat down the road. Now another 6 months later it's stopped spinning and draining again. This is a 10kg capacity machine and after the first break down I was careful not to overload or put heavy items in it for fear of it breaking down again but that made no difference. Just about every part has been replace in this machine so you would think it would work like new but that's not the case. They're really not built to last these days.
So loud – washes well, but it is so incredibly loud. I live in a apartment building and I cringe every time I have to use the washing machine as I worry it is disturbing others. A Bosch technician came out and said it was working perfectly, so they're just incredibly loud. It bangs and knocks during the spin cycle and on the highest speed it sounds like a plane taking off Show details
Buy something else – We purchased new in April 2020. It died Nov 2023. Paid a repair guy to come and have a look and he diagnosed the fault as a main PCB (control board). Quoted $700 to repair. I expected more from a "quality" brand name like Bosch. Won't be purchasing Bosch products in the future. Show details
Do NOT waste your money- terrible machine – I bought this machine brand new at the end of 2020. In two and a half years I have had to replace the seal 3 times, costing almost the same price as the machine itself- as BOSCH don't cover seals in warranty. Every time I have dealt with customer service they gaslight me into thinking it is me that is washing "sharp objects" that are causing the… Read more
tears in the seal. I am always sure to wash our knives and scissors in the kitchen sink, not the washing machine!
The seal has broken in the exact same spot 3 times over, so that theory seems unlikely. What seems likely to me is that the rubber is of extremely poor quality and tears in the same spot as that is where water runs to fill the drum.
I previously thought BOSCH were a highly reputable company with products that withstand the distance- I was so wrong! Never again.
It's a big disappointment. Not fit for purpose – Bought this machine for my elderly mum and special needs brother because Bosch had a reputation for high quality, reliable washing machines. It's just over two years old and the rubber seal has a large tear in it and flooded the laundry. My 83 year old mum is very upset. Bosch said they would not replace the seal as just out of warranty and mum… Read more
will have to pay. I contend that a machine of this calibre and price, plus such a critical part of the machine, should not fail after only two years of normal household use for two people. I personally have had three front load washing machines since mid 1980 (LG, Samsung etc) and none of them have ever had this happen. I also paid no where near the price of a Bosch for any of them. They all have lasted more than 10 years each. My advice based on mine and my mum's experience is DON'T BUY BOSCH as they obviously use inferior quality parts than other major brands. We will never buy Bosch again and instead will turn to the more reliable machines of LG, Samsung and the like. In this instance Bosch are wiping their hands of their not fit for purpose washing machine.
Awful machine – The washing machine doesn't wash clothes well and with light use the seal just broke. Warranty department said 9/10 it's customers fault if a seal breaks and said it won't be covered under warranty. It will cost approximately $400 to replace the door seal!!! My older beko machine is still going strong. Never had a seal break on a washing machine… Read more
before and it's customers fault?? I've had Samsung, LG, Beko washing machines without a single problem. Even when I bought some second hand. Never had to call a technician out once with any of them. Bosch products don't seem to last. Had a coffee machine that was over $2000 break after less than 2 years. Had an oven that made my eyes water every time door was open, had a dishwasher where the wheels kept falling off. Keep buying thinking german brand will be well made. Never buying bosch again.
Never using Bosch again – Absolutely ridiculously loud beeping at the end. I had to wonder if it was a joke someone at the store was playing but turns out others have also commented on this. Can't possibly use it at night because it will wake everyone up with the constant beeping at the end of the cycle. Has also put me off buying from the brand again with other products as well. Costly and cheap break point – I bought this machine in Sydney around 3 years back It’s good for two person wash, It’s just me and my wife we use twice a week You need to fill only 75% load else it tend to leak water a bit or doesn’t clean properly only within those rules it works fine Intense dry mode is powerful love that Annoying I found is the beeping which doesn’t… Read more
stop for a long time after washing or drying , they should give option to customise it or stop it
After 3 years the machine finally had an issue, I washed my bath robe with the rope attached to it and somehow one end of rope got stuck in rubber seal lining, it got stuck in door seal or gasket and took a chunk of rubber out, also I see that even after cleaning and maintenance the seal has changed color grey to light grey at places, overall 1000 dollar machine had a this breakpoint, now the water leaks I can’t wash clothes or dry.
The replacement at Bosch website is around 160 aud$ and then I have to call some one to replace it. I will add links as well it’s part number 0326, funny I don’t think the gasket has changed in next models, almost 200-300$ to get it replaced which is almost 1/3rd of machine price that’s nuts, either fix the quality of rubber seal so it lasts longer or make it easier to replace seal at home by consumer , by changing the design of seal available at lesser price.

Disappointed – My old top loader (other brand) broke and I bought this 13 months ago. I was happy with it but it stopped working properly. It didn't spin. I thought it might be a drain problem but technician said it's a defect in a control system and he needed to order parts from Germany because it's not stocked in Australia. I was told that it might take 6 or… Read more
8 weeks or longer. I have a big family and needed to use washing machine everyday so I ended up buying another small one for temporaly use until I get it fixed. My first Bosch purchase was a big disappointment and am not sure if I buy this brand again or not.

It's not a bad machine for two people – I've had my Serie 6 10kg machine for nearly 18 months now. Generally speaking it works well. As with other reviewers, it tends to not perform as well with very large loads. But with only two people in my household it is not such a huge deal because I rarely need to fill it that much. I found the gentle delicate and wool cycles to be VERY gentle,… Read more
which is good because it means not having to hand wash the woollens anymore. I also found the 15 - 20 minute cycle pretty good as well. The 1400 spin cycle spins the laundry to a sufficient degree of dryness. So far there hasn't been any repair issues or faults of this nature. The shortcomings are as follows. The digital screen is so ridiculously touch sensitive that accidentally touching it changes the settings very easily. For example, if you accidentally brush the controls with your elbow or clothes. I have to change the settings with my hand above the controls to prevent pressing the wrong thing. It's not like the old fashioned knob turn, which I think I'd prefer. I also found that the machine tends not to disperse all of the fabric softener or powder in the dispenser, leaving behind liquid softener that eventually coagulates if I don't clean it out regularly. Or it leaves behind wet powder that forms a hard lump that I have to remove later. For a machine this price I would expect a bit better than that. I'm on the fence on whether I'd get another Bosch machine again in future.
Worse buy - worse customer service – We have bought Bosh thinking we should not have to worry for an other 10 years. The 10kg is very sensitive, gets out of balance, it stopped working for us after a few weeks, so i contacted Bosh. They don't pay for travel and we live rural. Their appointed repairers couldn't find a fault acourding to the test they need to do, Bosh then said they… Read more
followed policies and procedures and cant do any more. Leaving us with it. The touch screen is also a pain, as it does not response well. Bosh blames me saying i dont use the programs correctly or under load machine.. since when has it became rocket science i asked myself. I won't ever go Bosh again for the machine. We also have the dryer series 6 heat pump and are on the other hand happy with that, only touch schreen is also something i would not go for again. Hoping i never have to deal with Bosh again.

waste of money and time VERY annoyed – I usually would not bother leaving a negative review but in this instance I will. Do not buy this. NOT knowing that the warranty does not cover transport to a… Read more
repairer. We live over 400 klm from a town. That is WHY I brought Bosch - assuming this machine would serve me well. It did not. The machine was under three months old when it started leaking large amounts of water from underneath the machine - from within. Not the hoses, not the door. And enough to have to mop the laundry well every time you attempt to wash a load. And waste a tonne of water - which of course living remotely is expensive as well. I am currently toing and froing with Bosch and the department store as to what to do with it. They wont cover freight costs - I do not believe its fair to cost me around half the price of the machine in fuel and trailer hire let alone the massive inconvenience. Of course I brought the bigger machine a 9 kg washer as we do have a lot of washing here. And there is no WAY on earth I can transport it - it weighs a tonne. Not at all happy and definitely would rather a different brand or machine now as I do not need a repeat of this anytime soon. Never again, sadly my faith in Bosch products is now a big fat zero

Good looking washing workhorse! – I upgraded from a 6kg Bosch. With a family of 5, the 10kg machine was a welcome family member. I've cut down on my washing loads per week, saving water, energy and time. The clothes come out squeaky clean and I mainly use the Cotton, Wool or Quickwash options. No complaints with the results but the one thing that I don't like so much is the ON… Read more · 1

Struggles when fully loaded and a 10 Kg Working Capacity is indeed Optimistic – Re our Purchase of a Bosch 10kg Series 6 Front Load Washing Machine WAU28490AU We purchased our Bosch 10 Kilo Front Load Washing Machine approx 8 months ago in mid November 2020 We wanted the extra capacity as it replaced a Swedish made ASCO 8 kg front loader that was 20++ years old and was "dated" BUT superbly constructed BUT the HIGH cost of… Read more
Swedish parts and a new Motherboard to keep it going meant it was only fit to go to Scrap (Regrettably and Sad)
This Bosch 10kg Series 6 Front Load Washing Machine WAU28490AU washes well when NOT overloaded and has a consistent workload every few days
BUT add a full load possibly close to 9 to 10 kilos and it extends the time sometimes by 25+% , it "sometimes" reduces the spin speed so the clothing is far too wet to hang or dry in a Dryer (saturated) so as this is always an "unknown" this is is why we gave it only 3 Stars as it does NOT deliver as per it's claimed 10 Kg specification
A medium sized load does NOT cause it any concerns and it washes well, BUT when you buy as a 10 Kg you expect it to be a 10 kg capacity
I think the 10 KG capacity is an "overstatement" as regrettably it is NOT happy handling close to maximum capacity - EVER
So in Summary, wished we had purchased the German made Bosch and NOT a Chinese Made Bosch as our German made Bosch Series 8 Heat Pump dryer is High Quality and close to "Bullet proof", but is regrettably also defective with a over functioning Thermostat
Bosch is a well known German brand so It is disappointing that they felt the need to start production and continue manufacturing in China for some of their Cost Sensitive Products
We will NEVER buy Chinese made Bosch again but plan to support all of their German / European made and usually well engineered Bosch Products
BUT Bosch's Australian based "Customer Service" is in our opinion "Underwhelming" as they found all the excuses NOT to come and inspect a reported Fault as was and still remains the case with our expensive German Made Bosch Series 8 Heat Pump Dryer that has "Thermostat problems" from the day it was installed - Disappointing Bosch Australian Customer Service - TRY HARDER - You almost lost a valuable Bosch Supporter with this most disappointing Commercial attitude on a BRAND NEW Series 8 - It still is only working on one (1) selection !!!!, maybe I am too forgiving of my expectations of a European Manufacturer's product ?
Bosch were given a 15 day opportunity to contact us re correcting the problems stated above with both the Serier 8 Bosch Heat Pump Dryer and this 10 kilo Chinese made Bosch washer and regrettably in their wisdom (????) no one bothered from Bosch Head Office so we remain with two "compromised" Bosch products and completing and now submitting this SAD overview
Sorry Bosch you need better Customer Service as selling expensive Laundry products and then "Walking Away" is in our opinion "Underwhelming Bosch"
Disappointed Bosch as these two expensive Bosch Laundry machines have the potential to become a ASCO possibly even a VZug if and when your Customer "Service" Team wanted to actually assist new Customers with defective machines instead of doing ZERO

This machine is crap stay away from it - only 5 months old and faulty – Machine purchased 2 Jan 2021, and have always had problems with wash and spin. Now spin cycle in all of the programs is no longer working, and the machine only drains water and no spin. Tried to operate spin only, but it only drains, and there is zero instruction in the manual on how to get it to spin at 1400 rpm. I've tried holding the button… Read more
down, and it just skips back to 0. I've tried just pressing 14, then 12, but it just skips back to zero. I'm sure I have a lemon, and now I'm going to enter the manufacturer warranty merry-go-round, where inevitably I'll be told its all my fault, and there's nothing wrong with the machine, but that's clearly not the case. This is a totally crap machine, only just 6 months old, and it no longer works. Stay away from Bosch WAU28490AU - this is a Chinese built Bosch, not built in Germany.

Terrible machine, constantly leaks, and poor customer service – We brought this machine in December and the seal barely lasted 6 months. The machine leaks constantly all over the floor. I tried to have this replaced under warranty and whilst they said they would send someone out, if the person they send thinks the broken seal is our fault (from not putting the clothes in incorrectly then we have to pay for the… Read more
service call. This is completely unreasonable and also frustrating as I have no way of telling the leak is solely the seal (which they don’t cover) or something else, without the risk of being stuck with an expensive bill that must be paid at the time of service. I was advised by the customer service agent that apparently we have to pay instantly, if the service technician thinks the seal is broken because we can’t load the machine correctly. A seal for this level of machine, at this price point, should not disintegrate and leak within 6 months.
We had a front loader Bosch previously (for 12 years) and replaced the seal ourselves before, on that model. Each seal got at least 3 years worth of use, and the machine never leaked like this. We never applied for warranty on this because I felt it was reasonable use, a broken seal in less than 6 months does not occur with reasonable use.
The machine is also really small and I cannot wash a full set of sheets in this machine. Despite being the same size as our previous machine, it takes far less in each load. When using the quick modes the clothes will often also still be dirty, so I always have to do full cycles (no eco or speed, and if dirty use additional rinse @ 3+ hours). Not great for a house full of boys.
I do not recommend this product and in future will no longer be considering Bosch products for our home.

FIRST WASH OUT OF BALANCE – I purchased this washing machine in April for new house we have just moved into. did first wash today a load of towels.(6) The machine is 10kg. continually vibrated all over the place in spin and made a lot of noise when doing the wash. I removed some towels and left 3 in there. It still did the same thing. I would be cautious of buying this. We now have to start the process of getting a repair man. Show details

When 10 kg doesn’t mean 10 kg – After waiting a week with a broken machine, the first technician who came to fix the machine when it was less than a year old, told me I was overloading the machine. Love it! – When my old Bosch washing machine started to sound as though it had rocks in it I thought perhaps the bearings were going so called a repair man. replacing it but dreamt of a 10 kilo Bosch. While flicking through The Good Guys catalogue recently there was my 10 Kilo Bosch on sale. I didn't need it but went to look at it anyway. It was all that I had hoped it was, but I didn't need it. On the very last day of the special I went back but had to pass Harvey Norman on the way where they offered to price match, so I waited for my new Bosch to be delivered. Oh happy day, it arrived but the heavens opened and it rained for 4 days. I didn't care as I was just glad to see the back of the Beko. Anyway, the sun finally came out and I started to wash, it's quiet, it's fast and it beeps when the load is finished, and I'm sure it washes cleaner and whiter. I was somewhat confused when I put a load in and was told it could only weigh 2 kilo's, shouldn't a 10 kilo washer take 10 kilo's? It's confirmed, I'm a Bosch girl, and so happy that I am. Every time I use it I say "I love that washing machine". I hope I have it for a long, long time.
So quiet and the best washing machine ever – I bought this 10kg machine so l could was doona's and blankets and it's perfect. lt has a lot a different cycles for wool, delicates and a cycle for allergies. So much to love about this quality machine. Show details · 1

Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this machine – I have owned this machine for two months now, having purchased it to replace my old Bosch washing machine that gave me 12 years of faultless service before the motor gave out. This machine is absolutely terrible. It's supposed to take 10 kilos but with even one blanket or two towels in it, something goes wrong and it just stays stuck on wash. … Read more
It won't rinse and won't spin and if I'm not constantly going down to the laundry to check on it, it can keep going on a wash cycle for hours. To get the blanket or towels to finish their cycle, I have to manually set the washer to rinse and then once that is finished I have to set it to spin. Even set manually at 1400rpm, it still won't fully spin the water out of whatever is in it. This is hugely disappointing after such a good experience with my previous machine. I intend returning the machine and purchasing something that doesn't have these issues.

finished so my dryer is taking longer to dry the clothes. As it takes a lot smaller load than my previous machine and the cycles are much longer therefore it is taking much longer to finishing my washing. It has a quilt cycle but I don’t think I could fit a queen size quilt in there yet it does not have a towel cycle which would make more sense. It also has only 1 water connection which means it does not use the hot water which is already available. It heats it own. I personally don’t find this of benefit so overall very disappointed with this washing machine. Wish I had purchased another top loader.
