Sadly... very little back up service on product - you don't get what you pay for – We LOVE Bosch products and appliances... but remember the saying a product is only as good as its back up service... thats the problem with Bosch Australia - takes forever to get someone on the phone - they send you emails that are auto bots to say they will contact you - yes - bots. Dare I say stick with a cheaper product that gives you repair… Read more

and after service rather than wait weeks for a repair on a current model machine. I will be looking for other brands that have back up - eg... just like a car eg:: Toyota, Honda, Mazda - great back up service

Great to have this! – Was so really happy to have this, it's more convenient to use less stress and more time for my family while doing the laundries. Show reply

A dreadful buy – We’ve had this for about 12 months and it’s easily the worst washing machine we’ve ever owned. If you want to wash one blanket, a jacket by itself or even one t-shirt, don’t. It won’t spin properly because it’s decided it’s off balance. The incessant beeping after a cycle is done (that you can’t turn off) is obnoxious. The control panel is too… Read more

sensitive (if you breathe near it, it’ll change something). And the cycle times are mostly abysmal, so we use the ‘mix’ cycle the most.

Water pools in the door seal and needs to be wiped out with a towel so it doesn’t go mouldy or smell.

It’s fine for a full or half load, but that’s it.

Next time I’ll definitely go for something with less tech.

Reliable and easy – I bought this machine just over a year ago and it has served my family well, putting in a daily load. It is very reliable, easy to function and a good work horse, producing good results. I really like the size of the machine drum and using less water as a front loader. It is also quieter than my last machine! Show details

Poor quality seal for an expensive machine – I purchased this washing machine 6 months ago after reading good reviews on choice. However I have been left disappointed. The front seal of the machine has torn with water now leaking from the machine. Prior to this I had a Daewoo which was used for 9 years with no problems with the seal. I suspect it is a poor quality front door seal. I'm… Read more

now told that this part is not under warranty (I am being blamed for "misuse / overloading") and costs >$200 to fix.

Further forum reading reveals this is not an isolated issue https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2217839.

So far so good—quiet operation and easy to use – After our 16-year-old Samsung washing machine finally retired, I wanted to purchase a reliable washing machine that would hopefully last just as long. I purchased the Bosch WAW28440AU based on the review by Choice. Overall I'm really impressed with the quiet and easy operation, and am happy to report that I did not experience clothes/towels coming… Read more ·  1

out stiff like some other reviewers had mentioned. I also like the Eco perfect and Speed perfect options, which makes life easier when I've left it too late to wash the laundry! I have two kids so I tend to use the Kidswear cycle most, but sadly, despite the manual stating this cycle has both Speed/Eco perfect options, they were not available (is this a mistake in the manual or a machine malfunction—would a representative please be able to confirm?).

The puddle on the rubber rim is indeed an 'issue' though, which was already present on arrival of the machine (husband said it's a sign the machine was tested in the factory). It's not a huge issue for me, as I just wipe it dry after every wash before I take the clothes out. The electrical cord is also slightly short (our machine sits on the floor and the power socket was just beyond reach of the electrical plug from the machine). Buyers should also be aware that the 9kg capacity is only available on the Cotton and Kidswear cycle without using the Eco/Speed perfect options. Some people may be worried about long cycle times, but if you load the laundry overnight and set the timer delay, you won't notice it! Plus there is the Speed perfect option on most cycles that reduce cycle time consierably.

Extremely happy with this product – I am so satisfied with this machine. I love all the features - short wash with the speed perfect function, the ability to select spin speed, eco wash for small loads, rinse plus for larger loads. So quiet when spinning that I hardly know it’s on. Cleans beautifully. Show details ·  1

Sheets or towels frequently requires manual rebalancing on spin cycle – I have had the 8kg logixx8 front loader approx 10yrs. Since purchase it frequently requires manual readjustment of soaking balled up items and repeated attempts to get it to spin for loads such as 1 set of queen size sheets or 1 full set towels. After purchase - under warranty Bosch tech said there were no probs (wouldn’t witness actual full load… Read more

under a spin). Bosch said no probs with machine & I’d need to pay for any more callouts. It is my 1st front loader and Bosch led me to believe manual rebalancing/repositioning of the load wasn’t unusual so I have persevered. I now know this isn’t the case after mentioning to friends my ongoing frustration, annoyance and bewilderment as to why front loaders are popular. Since bought have regularly checked with a spirit level (not uneven) & have tried different wash &/or spin speed settings. The frequent extra spin cycles/electricity likely exceeds costs of any water saved. Actual cleaning of items and choice of program settings are good, unfortunately so too is the longevity of the machine. Even though it is still working, its going to the recycle section at the tip (I couldn’t with a clear conscience give it away). Considering the extra time, effort, electricity and particularly the level of ‘service’ when under warranty I will never buy another Bosch washing machine.

UPDATE: Per Bosch request I sent a copy of purchase plus a short video of the machine in ‘spin’ cycle 2 weeks ago. Bosch has not responded. Level of customer ‘service’ appears unchanged.

Great quiet machine that cleans well – So I've had this particular model for a while now and think I could surmise a review. The machine is a good looking piece of kit. Its not too ostentatious and will fit any modern home. You have a myriad of programmes to pick from, with 2 allowing you to do a 9KG wash. You can select spin speeds up to 1400rpm (pending programme) which will leave… Read more ·  1

your clothes near bone dry. We mostly wash our clothes on the cotton setting with The speed perfect option selected and it nets us nice clean clothes which are done in about 1 hour. We also utilise the quick wash that can clean small loads in 15-30 minutes I.e: tea towels, car towels etc which are then promptly hung to dry. I love the ability to add items of clothing midway through a cycle (providing the water not too hot). Simply pause the programme, check that the doors unlocked and add your garment.

Did I mention the machines really quiet? No seriously. If you're coming from an older model of front loader; you would know how loud they could be with the whirling. With this model, you only hear the water swishing about the machine (my budgies love it an often fall a sleep to the sound).

Overall I'm happy with this model but I have some caveats:

Build quality: Ive tested numerous machines in the shop before I commited to purchasing this one and can note that the quality has tanked across the board. Doors weren't what they used to be, the dispenser rattled. Only the much higher priced Miele had the quality I was after but I wasn't willing to commit to that ridiculous asking price.

No prewash: Bosch has done something totally baffling and has opted to only have the prewash on their higher tier Serie 8 machines that are German made. Seriously for this price, I don't understand why they couldn't throw in that such a trivial thing. Compartment I on higher models for the prewash function but this one only uses that compartment to dump more water into the drum. You would be amiss to think you have this function due to the poorly laid out, confusing generic manual they provide with their machines but I could assure you that this model doesn't have this function.

Water left in the rubber seal and dispenser: The machine leaves water in the softener compartment and the drum has a wee bit of water left after a cycle. You would think the water in the rubber was due to a clog or something but rest assured it completely normal (judging by internet accounts). This initially bothered us but it didn't prove to be a factor that negatively impacted the machine.

Speaking of the manual, let me let you in a little secret (come close):

If you have some laundry that you want to spin, then you would think your could simply bring it to the spin cycle and let the clothes only spin. Not with Bosch. That programme defaults to a "rinse and spin". Now if you could be arsed to look up the function in that convoluted manual, then you would understand that you will need to hit the "rinse plus" option after you selected the rinse and spin programme to toggle between spin and rinse + spin. How weird. (I also add water to compartment II when I'm washing things that need more water -- don't let the water efficient elves hear that part)

Overall, we are happy with this machine and how it performs. We look forward to being happy Bosch customers and considering buying more from Bosch in the future.

PS: I wish it had a light.

So far impressed! – This is our 3rd front loader so we are used to minimum water usage, long cycles and quality washing outcomes. Our last Whirlpool was still going after 16 years of daily grind so this one has big shoes to fill. The German made model is hopefully better built than the MIL's 10 year old Taiwanese built Maxx Classic which had early and ongoing balance… Read more

problems due to pathetic, expensive and difficult to replace shock absorbers. Pros: Large opening door. Super quiet operation. Minimal vibration or balance issues so far. 1400 rpm spin option means clothes need less drying time. Can interrupt and add. Cons: Large door limits height of basket when emptying unless on a raised plinth. No spin or drain only option- only 18 minute rinse and spin.

Great efficient washing machine – Has a big selection of cycles to choose from such as gentle to mix loads. Quick wash completes in 15 mins and does the job. Great build quality and a big bonus being made in Germany. Show details ·  1

Great machine – The only problem l have with my new machine is that at the end of a cycle there is a small puddle of water on the rubber so when I take out the washed clothes they get wet again because you have to lift them over the puddle. Show details ·  1

Great machine so far – This machine is super quiet, large capacity makes it a breeze washing quilts. Two points why I won’t give it 5 stars; Firstly the instruction manual is fairly poorly written, very limited info and had to find out some of the features online by other users. The second point more importantly it leaves a large puddle of water at the rubber seals edge, when you open the door water spills out onto our floor boards. Purchased 10-May-2020. Show details ·  1

Perfect buy..after all It's BOSCH :) – We were using Samsung washing machine for last 3yrs and It started troubling us. We checked all parameters to fix it but had no luck so we started looking for new washer. We went to JB HiFi to check out various models of LG, Samsung, Electrolux and Bosch within 9kg to 10kg capacity. After doing so much of research and comparison, we even came to a… Read more ·  1

conclusion that Electrolux is the best when we see electricity + water consumption, feedback from current customers, capacity of machine and price. Though we weren't convinced because JB HiFi had limited Bosch machines. Then we went to Good Guys store to see other options in Bosch and they had more than 4 models to choose from. We checked each models closely and saw functions of each models and also read customer reviews. It took us nearly an hour to finalise and we ended up buying Bosch WAW28440AU (I think we saved so much after a great bargain) Paid only $860 for the machine and $165 for 5yrs extended warranty!!! We tested our machine as soon as we set it up at our home. It ran amazingly and the results were great. I know there are people complaining about certain cycles which doesn't allow you to have 9kg load but once you play with each settings you will know it better. We are 100% satisfied with our machine and now we are planning to buy Bosch dryer with Heat pump technology and I am sure Bosch would certainly be the best for that too :)

Excellent machine – Did a lot of research before deciding on this machine and couldn't be happier with the result. Very good washing machine with many features. It also operates very quietly. Good buy. Show details ·  1
