Another great product by BOSCH
I am very impressed with my new washing machine. After comparing features this one stood out. The water efficiency of a larger machine was very important. Another reason behind my decision was that it was manufactured and engineered in Germany as they have an excellent reputation. The pause and add or retrieve feature has been wonderful and very user friendly. It is very quiet in operation. The was washing result is very clean, follow the guide and it never disappoints. An unexpected bonus was that even though being of a larger capacity, the Bosch was smaller in external dimensions by a couple of mm and fits better into my laundry configuration. I kept the instructions handy for the first few washes but now I don’t need it.

Good for 3 years only
This washing machine (German made) worked well until after 3 years when it started to beep and the tap symbol started flashing, thinking there was a problem with either the water supply or outlet blockage. I had thoroughly followed the troubleshooting instructions in the manual and could find nothing wrong. The error always happens after the initial wash phase is finished and the machine takes in water for the first rinse. Sometimes the error is so bad that the machine pauses. I searched online for a solution and found that other customers had ...
Read morethe same issue. The repair bill is just not worth the cost. When this machine dies I will stick to the LG brand which I have found to be a lot more reliable. Surely you would expect that a German made machine costing a premium would last a lot longer than 3 years, I am bitterly disappointed. Despite Bosch approaching me upon reading this review, they have not contacted me yetPurchased in at The Good Guys for $1,077.

WAW28460AU - Purchased in August 2017 and lasted until August 2022. This Bosch washing machine is German made and worked well for 5 years when the tap symbol started flashing and the machine did not fill with water. There was a problem with either the water supply or outlet blockage. I followed the troubleshooting instructions in the manual and could find nothing wrong. Had to call a repair technician who inspected and tested. The following errors were identified E28, E26 and E29. The washing machine requires new PC Board, pressure sensor an...
Read mored aquasecure. The parts and labour to fix the machine ($576) including the initial call out fee ($242) make this prohibitively expensive to repair and far exceed the cost of buying a new washing machine. I would expect a a German made machine costing a premium would last a lot longer than 5 years, I am bitterly disappointed.Purchased in for $1,089.

Happy with how effectively and efficiently the machine operated until it started displaying the E18 error message during a wash. Would happen approximately every 4 washes. Very frustrating because it requires manual draining each time it occurs. Waited a month and a half for a Bosch service technician to finally come out, only to be told that there was "some hair" blocking the filter. And that I should clean the filter out after every 2nd or 3rd wash. Absolutely ridiculous. Funnily enough just out of warranty too.

WAW32640AU purchased December 2017. Do not bother with Bosch. We purchased a top of the line Made in Germany appliance because of the reputation and legislation requiring appliances to last. Our previous Fisher and Paykel machine lasted 25 years without one service. This Bosch has required 4 service call outs, at one of these the technician broke the machine further. The latest repair has quoted an extra $400 on top of the failed $175 repair, so 5 service call outs in 5 years….considering purchase of new machine of a different brand but one of the reasons I purchased a Bosch was to reduce environmental impact. Don’t buy into the marketing spin of machines made in Germany lasting longer, they don’t.

The washing machine was ok, but is now beeping to say the door is open when it is closed. Washing machines should last longer than this.
Having read the other recent reviews of this washing machine, it seems to be very common. We now have to replace the machine and have chosen a different brand.

All range of clothing and other items for our household. Does exactly as it should, i-Dos is awesome, you can wind back it's automatic delivery amount and still manual dose if you choose. It's a quiet machine compared to other brands we have had and it's very stable in operation. Highly recommend this machine.

Constantly having an E81 error message on our Bosch Serie 8 washing machine, I have tried cleaning the draw and keeping the liquids topped up as well as other possible resolutions that I have read on other forums but the problem is stil happening. The blue connection plug looks clean an undamaged so I'm not sure what the problem is, it does seem to be a common fault of the idos system I am not sure if it is dosing the liquids properly or not.
I have also notice that a replacement idos drawer is over $400 which is a lot for what it is and for wh...

Bought years ago brand new and only worked for a couple of years until the dreaded E81 error message (I-dos drawer faulty) appeared. Managed to get it fixed due to an extended warranty and had the I-dos drawer replaced. This solved the problem for a few more years but unfortunately the E81 error message has returned with no detergent or softener being dispensed. As mentioned by others, it is a $400 part to replace and given you can get a new machine for around 1K with the same features, it is hardly worth spending the cash to fix. Whilst I can't fault Boschs' I-dos system when it works, I would definitely think again before buying another with this feature. Hopefully their newer machines are reliable because this one sure isn't.

Died after less than 4 years. German made, Appalling. Bosch is unreliable now.
Last machine made in Thailand lasted 14 years. German made Serie8 less than 4 years.
Fills up continuously during cycle. Need to manually turn off the tap and on to do a quick wash to obtain clean clothes for work.
Replaced inlet valve and Aquastop at own expense. $180. Didn’t help.
Apparently…… Will need at least 2 tech visits to assess, obtain parts. $90 call out and $40 an hour, not covered by Bosch in Adelaide.
They only cover parts.
Excluding my time off work.
Multiple emails and calls to Bosch and they say sorry “due to the age”.
SERIOUSLY!!!
New job, can’t wash clothing. Extremely inconvenient.
I will never buy Bosch AGAIN, including replacing my hot water 17E and Serie4 dishwasher if they inevitability fail also....
Purchased for $999.99.

We purchased a new Bosch Serie 8 washing machine about 5 years ago for just over $1,000.
It was an expensive purchase for us, but we decided it was worth spending more on a well-regarded brand to enjoy many years of (hopefully) issue-free usage.
Asides from a sock blockage in the early days, the machine was working without issues. It did a great job of cleaning clothes, and was very quiet in operation.
A few days ago, a large puddle formed under the machine shortly into a cycle. Expecting a minor blockage or hose problem, we called out a repa...
Read moreir tech at a cost of $150. We were surprised to be told the issue was not blockage, but several large cracks in the outer plastic tub, causing water to pour out. Technician said he'd never seen anything like it, except for damage caused during transit or transit bolts being left in. But the machine hadn't been moved since it was installed. We were told it's not economical to repair, despite the rest of the machine still looking good as new. Bosch seem to take pride in offering a 10 year warranty on the advanced motors in these machines, but in this case it is the more basic components that have failed. I'm not sure if our next machine will be a Bosch. Despite working well over it's lifetime, we will be looking for more life from our next washer.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $1,029.

This is my third Bosch w/machine so I obviously have been happy with them. Have always bought the German made one. Bought it in January 2022. This new machine is quiet & easy to use & has lots of great features but I'm so DISAPPOINTED with the spin cycles. With the last two machines I've been able to use the 800rpm for our good clothes on a gentle cycle & they've always been perfect. In this one I used the 800rpm & I couldn't believe how creased the clothes were. My husbands Microfibre shorts which have never needed ironing were so creased I ev...
Read moreen had trouble ironing them. Even if I spin on 400rpm they still come out creased. Shirts that had polyester in them came out creased. If I spin out bed sheets out on 800rpm they're really creased. One of the reasons I bought my first one of these was because there was never fluff on the clothes. Now I also get fluff on dark colours. I'm very fussy with washing & never overload the machine or put towels etc with other clothes. I'm so upset & disappointed with this machine. I wish I'd never bought it or bought the Chinese one like my daughter did. She's happy with it & never has any creasing problems. Wouldn't recommend buying this model to anyone.Purchased in at Harvey Norman.

It cleans well and doesn't twist or work harshly on clothes. The power and water usage indicators actually helped us determine how to but set our cycles and the 24h delay timer let us get loads done around our lives rather than wait on them to finish in their own time. It is fairly quiet and the i-dos is such a comfort feature. Only thing to be mindful of is to wipe the water from inside the gasket after each cycle to avoid mold build up.

Waters consumption good compare to older models. Machine shakes abnormally at >1200speed rotations. Satisfied overall. Value for money. Noise level needs attention, powerful machine and recommend it. Never trying use it for blankets or similar items though

I have been Bosch fan over the years with many Bosch appliances and power tools in my house. But my experience with this German made front loader is a real sting to my loyalty to the brand. My previous Whirlpool washing machine lasted 15 years, and this more expensive one only last 5 and a half years. The washing machine works fine until the outer drum had a crack that made it un-repairable recently. Contacted Bosch customer service and had the response "it is not manufacturing fault". My washing machine has not been relocated since bought. We ...
Read morehave been using it delicately (only cold water washing with moderate spin once a week and always check our clothing pockets prior to wash). Hence the Bosch's statement becomes a real sting to us. Now we have this beyond repairable German made product sitting in my laundry. Bosch is not even interested to discuss the product recycle. (I'd like offer the product free to be recycled.) Maybe Bosch is very good at other products but its washing machine certainly does not count. Guess what I will buy my next washing machine.,,,,,Purchased in at The Good Guys.

Tap light flashes and beeping.
Followed all the steps to resolve. My husband is a plumber and still couldn’t fix it.
We prepared hoses and measured water pressure. Very annoying and expected more from Bosh.
We have series 6 and only had for 3 years.
Avoid I will be buying LG next.

Read moreew machine, however, the environmental cost of throwing away a 5 year old appliance is huge. Being a German company Bosch should be manufacturing white good which perform for at least 20 years. As for the 'prewash' in the 'cottons' programme you can add one, and put which ever soaker you want in the compartment. Not sure why your towels are drying stiff and harsh, you could try emailing Bosch, you may be lucky and get a response, I haven't.Hi can anyone advise if the Series 8 WAW28420 door opens up a full 180 degrees?
