5 Joan W.  · Have had this machine for a few years and it's great - prior one was Miele which just did not last long. Rate it highly.
5 Holly W.  · One of the quality appliances I purchased, I invested this kind of washing machine because its very helpful for us and more convenient.
5 Michael  · Machine is working great after there was a problem with the machine. Bosch repaired the machine 6 months ago after the expired warranty. And is working great
5 Rach L.  · Easy to use, great customer service from Harvey Norman store Loganholme. Quite to run.
1 1herbert.evans1  · Trash – Not a good product pretty trash don’t waist your time and money
2 Benjamin Lim  · Disappointed – The washer only last 6 years for a premium price. It starts leaking and no way to turn on.

Another great product by BOSCH – I am very impressed with my new washing machine. After comparing features this one stood out. The water efficiency of a larger machine was very important. Another reason behind my decision was that it was manufactured and engineered in Germany as they have an excellent reputation. The pause and add or retrieve feature has been wonderful and very user friendly. It is very quiet in operation. The was washing result is very clean, follow the guide and it never disappoints. An unexpected bonus was that even though being of a larger capacity, the Bosch was smaller in external dimensions by a couple of mm and fits better into my laundry configuration. I kept the instructions handy for the first few washes but now I don’t need it.

Purchased in at E & S for $1,100.

Good for 3 years only – This washing machine (German made) worked well until after 3 years when it started to beep and the tap symbol started flashing, thinking there was a problem with either the water supply or outlet blockage. I had thoroughly followed the troubleshooting instructions in the manual and could find nothing wrong. The error always happens after the initial wash phase is finished and the machine takes in water for the first rinse. Sometimes the error is so bad that the machine pauses. I searched online for a solution and found that other customers had the same issue. The repair bill is just not worth the cost. When this machine dies I will stick to the LG brand which I have found to be a lot more reliable. Surely you would expect that a German made machine costing a premium would last a lot longer than 3 years, I am bitterly disappointed.

Despite Bosch approaching me upon reading this review, they have not contacted me yet

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $1,077.

Purchase the Bosch series 8; 9 kg washing machine front loader sale price for $1200 Harvey Norman NSW This is now my second washing machine purchase. The first one was a Fisher & Paykel front loader that was purchased in 2014 which we used twice daily, and only recently the bearings started go & wasn’t spinning fast enough to remove excess water… Read more ·  1

out. This was the only reason why we had made this purchase.

We followed the Sales Rep advice at Harvey Norman and went for the German made Bosch. We were told you can’t got wrong with German made. The quality & craftsmanship is always top tier, and anything German made is made to last! I also told him my previous machine purchased from there also served us well for 12yrs!

On closer inspection once it was home I soon came to realise that it wasn’t up to the same quality as the Fisher and Paykel sadly !

I felt that Bosch could have had a really good quality machine for the price it was charging with the same features the competitors were offering !!

The program dial functions are extremely hard to read as they do not light up with the silver backing plate and the thin black writing makes it very hard to read. I have to get my phone out & use the torch & squat to make sure it’s the correct wash cycle I’ve chosen . In the showroom with all the lighting there you don’t notice it until you get home in your laundry with your single light bulb :(

The detergent drawer doesn’t close fully the bottom right hand side lifts up a bit. I have taken my drawer back into the store to see whether it’s a fault with my mine only. It looks like it’s a fault with that series because the display model at Harvey Norman also doesn’t close flush & pops out a bit too! The plastic does feel very cheap & light. Not sturdy

For a machine that’s over $1200 & German made you shouldn’t expect this at all ! I asked the sales rep to let the Bosch Rep know of this fault. I’m yet to be contacted by anyone, but could be early days yet.

The rubber lining inside the drum seal feels thinner than my previous machine. Water does not fully expel from the inner seal, which when it’s spinning the clothes should remove all traces of water too. I have to dry off the water with a rag so odour doesn’t occur- never had to do that with my previous Fisher & Paykel!

It does have a nice feature ; that it does light up when starting the wash cycle.

So far the wash cycles have been good with no issues. The clothes have been clean. I love this has a 15, 30 & 45 min cycle, like my old F&P - so that’s a bonus ! I haven’t yet used the delayed start, which I used to with my previous machine a lot.

But I feel for the price and for the namesake that it is a German made Bosch machine it feels cheap.

I did walk back around on the shopfront and check out the new Fisher & Pakyel and my regret was instant. I wish I had purchased that instead! It felt a lot more sturdy and it felt like everything was made with the a highest of quality.

I’m sorry Bosch, but I think you’ve dropped the ball with this machine.

This machine is part of my kitchen, so certain things are necessary, but especially quietness while in operation. It’s so quiet I sometimes forget I have a wash load in progress. Fantastic clothes washer. 9 years on at this point. Only qualm was the amount of times I needed to check which section I put the washing liquid in, it could be clearer without needing the manual. But cleaning wise it's great. Quiet and efficient. Show details

I absolutely love my new washing machine, it's bigger than my older one so we are washing less. Comes out clean. Super duper quiet, doesn't play an annoying finish song. Loving the light when it's done so I can see that I have got everything out. Speed perfect to cut down on load time is great. Love that you can open the door and add stuff in. Visually very appealing too. Might be more water hungry than my old machine, can't remember. Show details

Love this machine! – I wanted a good sized, reliable machine that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I did my research thoroughly, looking at lots of brands and Choice reviews among many others. That led me to Bosch. My neighbour told me about hers, the Series 8 made in Germany. Her second and she wouldn’t buy anything else. I decided on the 9kg, then looked into the small… Read more

differences between the different models. It’s super quiet, washes amazingly well. You can add an item you forgot and it spins the laundry really well. Bonus… put a load in at night and set the time for it to be done in the morning and voila, you’ve done a load before you even get out of bed! Only uses a cold water connection and heats it up, so in daylight my solar power is used . It’s not a water guzzler either like the top loaders. This model has an extra rinse if you want it, not all do. My mum’s neighbour has now bought one on both mine and her hairdresser’s recommendation. She and I are loathe to admit it but we actually look forward to doing the washing now, even my husband loves it!!

Ace machine – Very impressed with this washing machine. It has handled everything we have thrown at it as a busy family of 4. We haven't had any issues since purchase around 18 months ago. The settings are very customisable and convenient. Child lock and delayed start are useful. Everything goes in dirty, comes out clean and well spun. 100% reccommend. Show details

We purchased this washing machine just under three years ago for a two‑person household, and I’m extremely disappointed with the reliability of the I‑Dos system. Despite following all maintenance instructions and only ever using liquid detergent (never fabric softener), the automatic dispenser has completely stopped working. To make matters worse,… Read more

the replacement cost for the I‑Dos unit is over $500. For a machine marketed as premium German engineering, this is unacceptable. After reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated issue, which makes the situation even more frustrating. I regret not spending a little extra and sticking with Asko — my previous machine lasted over 16 years without a single problem. This experience has shaken my confidence in a so called" top tier brand.

False Advertising - not a 9kg machine. Shame on Bosch – This machine is advertised as 9kg capacity but this is not true at all. Most programs are either 2/3kg capacity or 5/6kg capacity. Only one 3.5 hr program claims to be 9kg but that's a very long time!! If you squeeze in any more the clothes come out smelling bad as the machine is overloaded. This is terrible value for such a small machine and very… Read more

confused as to why Bosch is claiming this to be 9kg when it is in fact 5-6kg. I suppose they have to do it because the other companies market that way? Our fault for buying it online as in person we would have noticed the small drum. It's very difficult to gauge the size of the drum online so have a look at the manual or in store before purchasing. I would not recommend this product as you will have to do washing many times per week given the tiny capacity. 6 years on and its still working ok so I guess it has some longevity but will have to sell at a big loss to buy a bigger machine that can actually handle 9kg. Who has time to wait 3.5 hours for a wash.

After more than 16 years of loyal service from a Swedish washing machine, moving to a German-made model was a considered decision. There are some clear differences. The price point is significantly better, the machine is more compact, and the… Read more ·  1

overall design is clean and pleasant.

We moved from an 11 kg to a 9 kg capacity. While the larger drum was occasionally useful—particularly for washing dark loads, which now sometimes require two cycles—the 9 kg has generally proven sufficient. As a household of seven, this was an important consideration.

The washing performance and programmes are excellent, and clothes come out thoroughly clean. The main compromises are that garments are slightly more creased than with the Swedish machine, and the detergent drawer feels somewhat flimsy and unlikely to last 16 years. That said, it was purchased at roughly half the price, which puts this into perspective.

One practical note is that water does remain in the rubber door seal and needs to be wiped dry to prevent mould. The previous machine had a stainless steel rim, so this was not an issue.

Overall, this is very good value for money, delivers a lovely wash, and performs well for a large family. Despite a few minor drawbacks, I am happy with this machine and would purchase it again.

Follow-up  · The machine is quite and very efficient. I prefer to use the Allergy cycle and find this washes the clothes beautifully. We are very happy with this machine

connector to the I dos was corroded and the I dos dispenser was also affected so they both need to be replaced to have the machine work as designed. Cost of Parts approx. $600. Contacted Bosch for availability of the main part (Cable connector) unavailable. This made me think they knew about the issue but said nothing. Spoke to Bosch customer service about the issue, they must of known of this issue as stated they the cable connector is out of stock and can not give a time line for availability. No recall or attempt to contact buyers or to warn of the potential issue. Sent an Email with my frustration all I received was you can turn the I dos off and manually dose the machine. Nothing else. You would this with the knowledge of this issue they would offer some type of compensation. Now waiting for the cable to become available then need to call the service person to come back and install the parts which is another callout fee.

The Bosch model was Choice recommended and we purchased the stacker drawer and Bosch dryer at the same time. It was a considerable investment at the time and was happy to pay for efficiency, saving money on water and electricity, etc. Prior to this model we had a large top loader.

The Bosch, 9kg capacity, I feel struggles with a family of 5 - perhaps suitable for a smaller size family? And bedding (sheets, doona cover) is an all weekend event. I use my local laundry mat for the 3 x single bed doonas and blankets and 1 x King doona as they just don't fit individually in the 9kg drum.

If you are considering a 9kg drum I would (if afforable) look at spending more to get a much larger drum capacity, 12kg, so it covers you and the family over the many, many years that it should last.

It does have quiet operation on the spin cycle and the seal around the door is in very good condition. Accessing the drain and propellor area is very easy to get to and clean.

The rest drawer in the stacker has some how had water seep into the internal timber and thus has swollen. Not a major issue as the resting drawer still functions to slide in and out.

I bought this washer on 08/11/2020 from JB Hi-Fi for $1005. I've had it for over five years now and use it, on average, 2–3 times per week. While it's been mostly great, it does have a few annoyances that stop it from getting a perfect score. The good stuff: - Most importantly, it washes clothes extremely well, and far better than my old washer.… Read more

Clothes come out cleaner and fresher, and it removes stains effectively (usually without any pre-treatment or soaking). This washer has yet to meet a garment it couldn't effectively wash.

- It's very quiet, even during high-speed 1400 RPM spin cycles, which do a terrific job of wringing out clothes at the end.

- The wash programs are easy to understand and customisable, allowing you to independently adjust water temperature, spin speed, and other settings. Cycles can also be paused to open the door and add a forgotten item without restarting the program from the beginning.

The bad stuff:

- After a cycle, quite a bit of moisture remains inside and underneath the detergent drawer. When the drawer is opened after a wash, some water also drips onto the bottom of the thick black rubber seal around the door opening. This means that after the final wash of the day, I need to use some paper towels to dry the detergent drawer (inside and underneath) as well as the rubber seal. I also leave the drum door open when the machine isn't in use to help it dry out and prevent any potential mould from developing.

- The "SuperQuick" program is very sensitive to the amount of detergent used. On two occasions, it produced excessive suds that the machine couldn't clear, getting stuck in a de-sudsing loop. Eventually, the suds expanded and overflowed from the front of the detergent drawer. This hasn't happened with any other program. My solution? I no longer use the "SuperQuick" setting.

- When washing small, uneven loads (for example, a single heavy item), the machine sometimes struggles to reach the highest spin speed (1400 RPM). It will attempt to ramp up, slow down, and then try again in a loop. My workaround is to avoid very small loads, or if I need to wash just one bath mat or towel, I add a few extra items to balance the load.

The Serie 8 WGG24401AU/01 is a 9Kg front loading washing machine built in Germany. 1. It is quieter than the Serie 6 Chinese assembled Bosch 5Kg machine it replaced. 2. sometimes filled with too large a load and this contributed to its eventual end. 3. The German unit is smoother and quieter but the 9Kg loads it can handle can take much longer than smaller loads. If you opt for 9kg load with prewash it tells you 4hours will be needed. Our solution to this is to run those big loads using the “finish by” option. We set it to run overnight and finish by 6:00. 4. The way the control window works and options are set is pleasing. Getting to know how to use it and which of the dozens of options to use requires some careful reading of the manual. I even managed to follow the weird instructions for increasing the volume of the end of wash beeps. That only makes sense with patience and reading the steps two or three times. Fortunately the day to day washing is easy to set up and you can opt for changes in temperature, spin speed, adding a pre-wash, or extra rinse very easily. 5. The regular maintenance recommendations include using 60°C washes which the drum and the rest of the parts clean every few weeks. Apparently you shouldn’t run it too long at 40°C or less for too long. It will remind you if you do that. I do use 60° but only occasionally. 6. Shirts come out less crumpled and dirty cuffs on white shirts are noticeably whiter. I am happy with that. 7. I haven’t used the stain removal special cycles yet. These are longer cycles and invove soaking for extended periods. It probably makes sense to do these overnight too. UPDATE: The Series 8 did an excellent job with a pet stain on a white cotton blanket. The stain looked difficult to remove. I used prewash and chose the first of the stain removal options. It involved a fairly long wash. The blanket came out much whiter than I recall it being before, with absolutely no sign of stains anywhere. I am surprised that this feature works so well, but it did. Impressive!

I bought the Bosch Series 8 i-DOS washing machine expecting premium quality, but it has been a huge letdown. 1. Serious design flaw with the door seal – Because the door… Read more

opens to the left, you naturally load/unload with your right hand, and the clothes drag across the same part of the bottom right rubber seal each time. This causes premature wear in one spot, leading to leaks.

3. Warranty issues – I’ve already had the door seal replaced once under warranty. Now, the same problem has happened again while still within the warranty period, but Bosch claims its not covered and wants to charge me $280 for another replacement. I have owned front loaders before and NEVER had this problem.

For a machine in this price range, I expected far better quality and customer support. Unfortunately, this will be the last Bosch product I buy.
