Please be aware of a dishwasher that does not last – Hi. Bought my dishwasher 2017 from harvey Norman.. for the last year and half it has thrown up many error codes and now flashes on check wayer level and rinse aid. I use it 3 times a week and wash dishes before putting.them in dishwasher. There are only a few clean dishes and 2 pots. I was very happy the first 4 years now it's a nightmare… Read more
sitting lame in my kitchen. I don't.want to.buy another dishwasher nor do i want to get a technician as a 4 year use is disgusting for.a.bisch product looked after. What a lemon. My previous bosch lasted 18 years. 4 years seems like a waste of money. Please be aware of these problems.....not happy. When it did work the clean was excellent and easy to.use. it was never clogged as I cleaned dishes prior.
The dreaded Error 15 – This dishwasher lasted nearly 6 years but is on the way out. The dishwasher itself was good for its relatively short life, quiet and effective. But now it has continual error 15 issues with water gathering in the base. I am able to fix it, but the frequency is increasing and now it’s just days between fixes. It appears to be a common issue with… Read more
Bosch. Appears to have a design life of about 5 years and I have managed to get an extra year out of it when the Errors started occurring regularly, despite maintaining it as per the instructions. Disappointed as it’s our second Bosch, the previous one lasted longer (8 years). Perhaps time to consider other brands.
Very Disappointed with Bosch - only lasted around 5 years – We purchased a Bosch dishwasher (SMS50M28AU) as we expected quality and reliability. The dishwasher started to malfunction after just around 5 years. The first symptoms were not starting as usual, warning lights came on, ‘Check Water’, delayed start, unstable programs … Checked dishwasher many times, cleaned regularly as per proper maintenance,… Read more
but same problem persisted until it did not start at all. Has anyone had similar problems? For the money we paid we expected it to last many years. We used it approximately 4 times a week. It was a decent dishwasher when it worked, easy to use, quiet, dishes were clean most of the time. Purchased April 2016 at Harvey Norman for $1005

Not as great as anticipated - want my old Asko back – Well, I've owned this dishwasher for about 3 months now and it's time I wrote a review for others considering purchasing. In our last house we were unaware of how fortunate we were to wash our dishes in an Asko dishwasher we picked up years earlier at an auction for a steal as it had a mark on the side. When we moved I chose the Bosch… Read more
after it was recommended to be a great dishwasher at a mid price ($880). While it washes dishes it is NOTHING like our old Asko. Dishes need to be rinsed beforehand or you will be re-washing and despite having a variety of functions I am always using the pots/pans cycle because I fear the dreaded re-wash at the end. Also the build is no where as sturdy as the ASKO.
The Asko would literally tackle a dirty roast pan with gusto but I would never in a million put a dirty dish like that in the Bosch. But at ~$600 cheaper than the ASKO model this may be a fair trade off for some people who are after a mid range dishwasher that does an OK job. Next time I will spend more and have an Asko or a Miele.
The Bosch is very quiet, however I would prefer more noise if it meant a better wash.
5* Dishwasher - Would Highly Recommend – Just before Christmas last year, my older "No Name" dishwasher carked it despite the fact that it was only a few years old, and had gone through several repair jobs. It was not the best time to go appliance shopping, but I wasn't going to make the same mistake again by purchasing a cheapo, unreliable dishwasher out of desperation from Gumtree. … Read more · 1
After several nights of researching pretty much every available deal and price offered around Victoria, as well as the quality of the machine and its functions, I stumbled across this beauty.
It had very good reviews, a wide range of functions, looked stunning - and the best part was the $$$!
Good Guys had a fairly good discount going for this machine at the time, without which I may not have purchased it, but I am very glad that I did.
I don't often rate anything with 5 stars, simply because there is always some way in which something or someone can improve. But this machine, is flawless in almost every way, and I would be doing a great injustice by giving it a lesser rating.
Although its a Bosch branded machine, it is in fact not made in Germany at all, but rather in Spain. This machine has an identical series 6 "twin" which is made in Germany, but for which you pay an extra $200 or so - don't waste your money. I cant imagine the German-built sister working any better than this baby. At the end of the day, they are both screwed together following the same design specifications and blueprints, using the same parts.
The machine itself looks lovely. It can be purchased in either chrome or white. The chrome is generally $50-$100 more expensive than the white version, depending on where you buy it from. The chrome is thankfully smudge proof - I haven't had to wipe it down once since purchasing it, it still looks brand new (I kid you not!). Never seen anything this shmancy before.
Regardless of which setting you choose to use, it is Q U I E T. It's the quietest dishwasher I've ever seen anywhere. This part played no role in my ultimate decision to purchase it, however I can understand that it may be a very handy function to have if your house or apartment is particularly small, or you have a napping baby in your house, or even if you install the unit into a home/office, etc where silence is golden. Sometimes, I can barely hear it going at all, and I actually need to go and check that its switched on and working...
As far as modern dishwashers go, it has basic, but usefully efficient functions. The functions include:
* Half load setting
* Eco setting
* Vario Speed
* Timer
* LED screen
The half load setting is a great function to have, especially when you only have one of the shelves loaded. Did I mention that the upper shelf can be removed completely if you need to wash larger items down the bottom? The upper shelf is also height adjustable.
Eco Setting is a nice thing to have during.... lightly soiled dishwashing, I suppose? Or during water restrictions? To be honest, I'm not entirely sure about this one. My dishes are NEVER lightly soiled (lol.. I have kids...), and I like my dishes to come out clean and squeaky.
Vario Speed is simply awesome. It cuts down the washing time by about 50% (great for when you need to wash dishes in a hurry right before going to bed or out to work, or if you're about to host a party and need to get rid of the dish pile fast, etc). Vario Speed cleans the dishes with the same efficiency as a normal cycle does, however it uses about 100% more energy - we try to avoid it if we can.
The 24 hour timer is great. Why? Because everyone knows that a dishwasher needs to be opened shortly after finishing its cycle so that the steam can escape, and the dishes can dry as effectively as possible. I use my timer constantly.
The screen is fantastic, and reliably / clearly tells you how much time you have left on a cycle.
It has 5 programs to choose from (which is really more than you'll probably actually ever need or use):
* Heavy Pot Wash 70°
* Auto Wash 45°-65°
* Eco 45°
* Quick 45°
* Pre Rinse
So far, I have tried the Heavy Pot Wash and the Auto Wash. I havent needed to use the others as the vario speed function takes care of cutting down wash time - why even bother with a Quick cycle program, I wonder? Anyway, both functions that I have tried work really well. My dishes always come out sparkling in a heavy pot wash (2hr 20mins during a normal cycle), but in an effort to save some $$ on the power bill, I generally just let the machine run with an auto cycle (2 hours 40 minutes).
The automatic cycle in this machine is worth making note of. It is quite exceptional, and works via fuzzy logic. It is the machine's most energy and water efficient regular cycle. It actually calculates the amount of debris you have just loaded into the dishwasher, and judges from this whether it thinks your dishes require a 65° scrubbing, or just a 45° wash. It's quite brilliant, actually. 99% of the time, it gets the calculations right, and my dishes come out sparkling. Every now and then though, it'll misjudge the amount of debris, and I might still find a few bits tacked to plates here and there (hey, its just a dishwasher - not a Ph D academic!). If it ever does this to you, just close the door again and throw on the heavy pot wash. Out of the probably 200-300 loads I have washed so far since I installed it, this has maybe happened to me 2-3 times - an excusable number.
The cleverly designed arms wash dishes very well, on every shelf, and from every angle - no complaints here whatsoever.
This particular model unfortunately does not come with an additional cutlery shelf, much to my dismay, but the cutlery basket it provides is good quality, and amply sized.
The shelves are easy to roll in and out, have never jammed. The only thing to watch with the bottom shelf is that it has a tendency to dislodge itself if pulled out too quickly, thanks to its tiny wheels - perhaps this machine's only design flaw? It takes no effort to realign it though, should/when this happens to you.
It has a nice, "state of the art" (according to the Good Guys sales person) tablet ejector which lodges the tablet to... somewhere. Who cares. Ive never had any problems with stuck or half dissolved tablets - they've always landed where they've needed to, and my dishes have always been clean. If you're wondering whether you can use soluble wrapper tablets with this machine - yes, you certainly can.
It also has a capped rinse aid compartment, separate to the tablet cradle. Using rinse aid in this machine will cut down drying time by 5 minutes per cycle. You be the judge.
My dishes generally come out pretty dry after a cycle. My 'plastics' are never completely dry, but everything else is pretty much good to go. I would say the drying function, with rinse aid, is pretty standard to any other modern dishwasher - nothing shmancy here.
The machine fits a decent amount into it. 14 place settings, I believe. As the top shelf is removable, you can fit pretty much any sized, dishwasher-safe object in there - which is soooo nice! Especially when you're constantly cooking meals for kids. I've washed oversized soup pots, XL vases in there.... you name it! It fits! The bottom shelf is nicely laid out with adjustable racking. The top shelf can be a little more cumbersome to maneuver, due to its awkward racking layout, which unfortunately isn't really adjustable. I think I just found another design fault. Regardless of this however, if you can reach level 7 in Tetris, you'll also be able to work your way around the top shelf racks. The top shelf also has convenient little side baskets which flip up and down, where you can put stuff like ladles, eggs cups and bread knives, etc.
It was also very easy for me to install DIY, and came with detailed instructions.
There really isn't much more to say, I don't think. Despite the couple of little boo boos I mentioned above, its a phenomenal dishwasher, especially for the price I paid. Its reliable, strong, robust, an exceptional cleaner of the highest standard, looks gorgeous, is efficient, has a great energy and water rating, is user friendly - it, simply put, has everything anyone could ever need, and offers me personally almost everything I could every hope for in a dishwasher - and it WON'T cost you a fortune. Move over Smeg, Miele and Siemens - I think I've found your match!
Dry dishes? Yes!! – After finally kicking my 2-year-old Samsung not amazingly discontinued, out the door which as you know was the greatest piece of junk I have ever owned I decided to dig a bit deeper this time. I nearly purchased a different model Bosch, it was on special but I thought check out the net first. I also had in my sights an Asko which I have had two… Read more · 1
of previously and they worked ok but I can't say they were any better than a Fisher and Paykel I had for a few years.
After investigating on the net I found a couple of bad reports on the Bosch I had in mind, water leaking onto electricals so that turned me off so I headed back to the Asko but that copped even worse reports so I landed on the Bosch site and moved up market a bit and found this one rating 4.8 out of 5 from 13 reviews.
I came to the conclusion that Bosch manufacturer most of their models in Turkey and Spain and even though the Australian Government has this one as made in Germany it is made in Spain.
It seems the ones that get the most flack are made in Turkey for some reason.
But anyway I ordered this from Appliances Online less than $1,000 delivered and took the extended warranty for another 3 years.
The machine was ordered at 3PM on the Thursday and the delivery were knocking on my door at 8.00 AM Friday morning can't complain about that definitely 5 star to them.
I got the machine up and running and my wife has ran 5 or 6 washes through the machine.
Items came out dry and hot so maybe those who say theirs are coming out wet are using the wrong cycle or don't realise that once you stop the machine you leave the door ajar for 20 minutes to allow the heat to escape and the water to evaporate. Trust me when I say this, many expect a dishwasher to do too much and probably would like it to stack itself as well, but as far as drying this machine is no different than any Asko I have owned.
For me the Auto Cycle with the Vario speed did the trick nicely and ran for 80 minutes, my Samsung equivalent ran 87 minutes including 25 minutes drying the dishes.
Probably could use a different cycle but I am one who finds something that works and I stick to it until I get bored so it may be a while till I try any other cycles.
The tablet dispenser is really natty.
I couldn't figure out why the top basket had such a strange handle until I did a bit more research and found it was not a handle.
It is actually meant to catch the tablet, the spray arm under neath sprays the tablet slowly dissolving it to give a better wash and no caking.
The upper basket has 3 or is it 9 positions? According to pro reviewers the basket can sit unevenly if required Lord knows what for but any way the top basket has some nice clips either side that lock the basket in place not like the crappy Samsung that was a hit and miss and constantly kept falling.
The spray arm (Upper) is much better design than many, it is double clipped to stop or reduce sideways movement and the location holes at the back have three not one as many machines have.
Much better design here as well and I can get my long stem wine glasses sitting in the special racking with plenty of head room, I guess the Germans are more aware of this than the South Koreans so they pay special attention to wine glasses.
The machine is quiet and I took a decibel reading 600mm from the machine and it registered 42 to 44 decibels as promised.
So far so good I give it 5 stars but will adjust this if I have any problems and will do a running review to reflect the dishwasher after continued use and abuse.
There is one thing though that I noticed.
Apparently the anti flood device in the line is supposed to sit in a downward direction, not upward or sideways.
The problem is, many plumbing fittings sit in other directions and not down because of shelf and space restrictions so I am not sure what Bosch have to say about this as they claim lifetime antiflooding guarantee on this product along with 10 years anti corrosion.

Worked well for 5 years, now E09 error needs new heater/pump – Worked well for 5 years, but now E09 error indicates need for a new heater/pump. Expected better reliability from Bosch for a $1141 machine. No quotes yet, but expecting it will cost more to repair than is worth it given that the heater and pump seem to be one unit plus labour. Update: Bosch repaired it for free despite being clearly out of… Read more · 1
warranty, so changing my review rating based on this excellent customer service to maintain brand reputation.
excellent service from Bosch – the team at Bosch have been excellent in the way they have handled my issue. Ebony in particular was so prompt and polite in her approach. The dishwasher itself is outstanding and cleans really well and is quiet. But I just happened to get faulty one that has some problems and Bosch Australia did a great job in providing me with information and were exemplary in how they handled my situation. Thank you. Great dishwasher – Cleans almost perfectly. Great price. Looks fantastic in my kitchen. Very easy to use. Can fit a lot of dishes at top and bottom. Only negative is that the moveable pieces on the racks can sometimes pop off which is annoying. Overall, a great product and would definitely buy again. Show details · 1

Not happy – I bought Boshe dishwasher just over 5 years ago. It has been great until the 4 year mark. at the 4 year mark something went in it and this was fixed under the extended warranty plan I purchased. Same issue has now happened 10 months later, I have been trouble shooting for the last week and a half to ensure filter is clean all parts are clean, a… Read more
dishwasher cleaner was put through. Now I have called extended warranty and I have called 4 days after my extended warranty and now they wont cover it as I didn't lodge it prior.
So frustrating. For an expensive dishwasher with Bosce brand I would expect more than 4 - 5 years before problems occur. It is not washing the dishes properly, it is making a funny noise and I believe the water to not be circulating properly.
Have the same problem. Machine didn’t last four years and now has error E09 – I bought the dishwasher from the good guys about four years ago. It has the same problem E09 and may need new pump. Thinking about the cost of repairing it, I would rather buy a new one. However, I’m not quite sure if I should trust this brand again. Show details

Have the same problem. Machine worked well for 4.5 years and now has error E09 – Hi. I have exactly the same problem as the previous poster Mr E. Our Bosch machine worked flawlessly from new until last week when it shows error E09. Its not warming up the water and the error code online says the heater element has failed which seems to be a serious problem. I must say, I've never had a dishwasher pack up on me before -… Read more
I've normally replaced them as a matter of upgrading for something newer. Disappointing that the Bosch items don't seem to last more than 4-5 years these days. I wonder if this was part of a recall Bosch did on dishwashers?

Disappointing didn't last quite 4 years – I purchased this to replace an old Samsung dishwasher that was more than ten years old. I went with Bosch as I expected reliability, unfortunately this was not the case. Dishwasher has started to malfunction after 3 years 10 months and a $400 service call makes this a throw away item. For the money I paid I expected it to last a minimum of 8… Read more

Excellent value for money dishwasher – Whisper quiet. Nice clean dishes. Option to cut time to half is excellent, always use this option and dishes always come out clean. After going through 3 dishwasher over 15 years Im hoping this one will last for years to come. Only paid $980 so not an expensive dishwasher by any means. Show details · 1
Good dishwasher – I love my bosch dishwasher. I can't live without it. Washing dishes are such tedious everyday chores. I really appreciate my husband to convince me to buy this. I reckon this is second best dishwasher. I believe that best one is miele. However this is quite decent for a price. Especially I like the cutley tray on the top self. forks very thoroughly. Annoying thing is I can't go to bed while it is running since it doesn't have the function it opens a door automatically when it finishes.
Great Dishwasher!! Very quiet! – I purchased this dishwasher on sale from the Good Guys. Being told to look for the one made in Germany, this is made in Spain, but for the price it was too hard to miss. Amazingly good dishwasher. Cleans the dirtiest of dishes, and does so with little to no noise. Show details · 1
Two years on and extremely happy with purchase – Before buying this I did lots of research and it seems to have paid off. We have been using for almost two years and I don't think it has let us down once. Surprisingly quiet and seems like it is always working efficiently. The dishes are nearly always totally dry, except where we have made a mistake in stacking it. The only thing I don't like… Read more · 1
is the stainless steel cover is thin and buckles when you press on it, although it always regains its shape so probably doesn't matter. Very occasionally the tablet doesn't dissolve properly, but again it may be something we are doing wrong.
All in all this has been one of my best purchases ever, would recommend this or a similar one from Bosch.
Bosch dishwasher – I purchased the Bosch dishwasher as it is on sale at Harvey Norman. Although u have several programs for choices. But 3 of them take more than 2 hours to finish. The last choice is 25 mins. The worst thing is it can not clean the dishes well. I have to remove all the dirt completely before putting them into the machine. Otherwise, the dirt still remains on the dishes after washing. Show details

still happy with my purchase – We bought a new dishwasher a year ago and have had no issue with it. Love being able to elevate the trays as it makes it so easy to place large pots and lids in it for washing. I'd love to find out exactly how much water is being used for each cycle though. So quiet! – This dishwasher cleans really well and has some great features. The optical detection system is clever and means you use less water each time. It's also very quiet, so much so I had to check if it was actually running the first few times I used it. It's a recent purchase so I can't comment on longevity. It seems a touch smaller on the top tray than our previous dishwasher though. Show details · 1
My Kitchen Lifesaver! – I love this dishwasher. It is so quiet that sometimes I have to check if it is operating! The cutlery tray is great! When you load put all like cutlery side by side. This makes unpacking so much quicker. It cleans very efficiently. It gives you many options to accommodate heavy duty cleaning, quick wash, glass, eco wash etc. I am very happy with this machine! Good solid unit – Cleans the dishes well. Reasonably quiet. However, does tend to block more often than others. Flood protection comes in very handy.The instruction manual was easy to read and understand. The unit tends to use more rinse aid than my previous dishwashers. Do not work very well with finish, tends to leave residue behind. Show details

Good clean and easy to use – Looks very nice and cleans very well. Has lots of different settings functions and attachments and different time settings. Has a good finish so its fingerprint free front has child lock and cutlery racks and knive trays and shelves everywhere would recommend this dishwasher as its exactly what i wanted. Show details · 2
Couldn't be without this – Easy to use and stack. Always cleans perfectly. Has a range of settings, but we use the economy quick cycle and our pots, plates, glasses etc are cleaned brilliantly. The stainless steel looks brand new and i only ever wipe it over quickly. The internal filter is easy to clean and slots easily back in. Our bench space is always clean as we stack as we go. Love Bosch products and this is another outstanding item from them. Show details · 1
Excellent dishwasher – This is our second Bosch as we loved the first one so much. It's very quiet, you would not even know it was on, cleans perfectly almost every time. We only was it had a cuttellery tray as the basket takes up a lot of room on the bottom wrack. Show details · 1
Great Quality Dishwasher – We bought this dishwasher almost 12 months ago. The functions are simple to understand and the knob is easy to use. It is so quiet, you can't hear it when it's turned on. Cleans dishes perfectly - glasses with no streaks. I set the timer to make the most of my solar power when I'm at work and I come home to clean, dry dishes. The timer can be set for up to 24 hours in advance! Great product for a bargain price! Show details · 1
Value for money – Recently bought this dishwasher after reading reviews and reviews. The functions are simple and (turning the knob) easy to understand. I always rinse my dishes before i put it in the dishwasher (habit) and I feel it cleans well. I haven't used the 30 mins wash yet but will give it a try. Overall I am a happy customer Show details · 1
A decent reliable dishwasher – I think this dishwasher performs well because I'm careful to stack it well and run it at the right temperature etc. We were running for at least 6 months on the standard wash setting but found recently it was leaving too many particles on some of the glasses and plates. We now run it on the 70 degree pots setting and get a better outcome. I… Read more · 1
don't use the most expensive dishwasher powder, so maybe should try it with an expensive one to see if the results are better, back on the standard wash setting. In some ways there are so many variables like temperature, stacking, and soap used, it can be hard to say a bad wash is because of the machine. I might just need to do some kind of descale too to get it running like when it was new. One thing I really don't like is the cutlery tray does not fit cutlery with wide handles too well. That is a nuisance, but perhaps only a 1st world problem at that.
Really happy - great machine – I've bought two Bosch dishwashers over the last 3-4 years - for different properties. This was the latest one that we purchased (we also have a more 'simple' model that isn't for sale anymore) I find that they clean well, they're very quiet - you get good options like 'half load' and they're easy to clean out (filters etc) Show details · 1
So Quiet – Had to buy a new dishwasher, last one I had for 8 years and became very noisy. This new one is just so quiet and has several options for washing. It cleans all my dishes very well. Didn't expect to get a stainless steel one but when it arrived the company had delivered me the wrong one and didn't have a plain white but it does look good in my kitchen and doesn't seem to leave marks all over the door like I thought they would. Perfect – We purchased this model for new house and I am so happy with it. It is easy to use. It fits in perfectly with our other appliances. The choice of washing options is easy as well as efficiency. This is a super quiet dish washer that I would definitely recommend. Show details · 1
Truly the best buy! – I just love my Bosch! This one's name is SuperSilence and it lives up to the name. I literally have to check if its on or has finished as its that quiet!It washes extremely well, everything is dry...as long as you don't overload it.I mostly use the short cycle of 29 minutes and even pots and pans come out clean. I can confidently recommend this machine. Show details · 1
Great dishwasher and is childproof! – Really good dishwasher, and easy to clean. Our toddler loves pushing the buttons so luckily when we turn it on, it's completely childproof and no matter what button he pushes, the machine keeps washing. We also have a BOSCH fridge so we knew that a Bosch dishwasher would serve us well. We've had it now for 4 years and it's great, it's not too loud and the times aren't too long. Show details · 1
Super quiet and cleans well – Our last dishwasher died after 10 years so we had to get a new one pretty quickly. Decided on this one and haven't been disappointed Pros - super quiet (can hardly even hear it!), washes dishes well, energy and water efficient, and has many options of cycles, most dishes come out dry (occasional top of cup still has water on it if standing straight up) Cons - none I can think of Show details · 1
Excellent product, very happy customers! – The dishwasher cleans and dries our dishes perfectly! Even greasy, heavily soiled pots and pans come out sparkling! It's really quiet, you can only hear it because our water is loud through the pipes in the walls of our house, but it is otherwise very quiet. I love that it has an eco and half load modes.
