Good Dishwasher – Overall, I am quite happy with this dishwasher. I have had it over 6 years and it has been faultless up to now. Always cleaned excellently and very quiet. Recently it stopped turning on. Called Bosch and they had a repairer out next day to diagnose the problem which was control module in the door. Parts were ordered and it was fixed day after… Read more · 1
parts arrived which did take about 2.5 weeks which is pretty standard for regional Queensland. Total cost was under $200 so was happy with that. The only other 'negative' is I too have experienced faded wording on control panel but in fairness I tried to clean it with too aggressive a cleaner. Even though it looks like it's engraved, all the writing just comes off. Luckily we pretty much only ever use 2 settings but no idea what the others are now. Overall though, I would recommend it.
Shame about totally worn contols – This dishwasher is fantastic, I can't fault the cleaning of dishes, but the buttons have completely worn off & you can't even programme your wash unless you have a photographic memory of all the buttons Very disappointed when this could've been such a great dishwasher Surely there must be a template sticker bosch can provide to rectify this problem Show details
Expensive waste of money – Purchased 18/1/2014 for $1743 including 60 months extra care warranty from Harvey Norman. E24 error 2019 cant be fixed. Less than 6 years and it’s throw away. Extra Care started from date of purchase. Paid for 5 years but this replaces the 2 years manufacturers warranty and doesn’t start after the 2 years. This means warranty ran out 18/1/2019.… Read more
Absolutely pathetic for an expensive machine. Shame on Harvey Norman for selling 5 years warranty but only only really honouring 3 years. I could have bought a cheap dishwasher every year for what I paid for this one. Won’t buy again.

Lasted exactly 5 years – Not sure if I should be happy (it actually lasted for 5 years!) or frustrated. Purchased SMS69T18AU/93 back in Aug 2014 for our new house, installed and started its lifecycle on Christmas Eve 2014. It reported E15 error exactly 5 years later on Christmas Eve after finishing dinner with a pile of dishes and dinning-ware to be washed, imagine that… Read more
mess.
Tried to tilt the dishwasher to let out excessive water, opened the bottom panel to remove excessive liquid accumulated at the bottom which floated the floating wheel which subsequently triggered the anti-flooding mechanism. It actually worked, E15 error went away. A quick cycle make us excited, however, the next full cycle, during rinsing, E15 appeared again, it is consistently reproducible, so something (rubber seal or hose) must have broken, it is out of warranty anyway, so not worth repairing.
Just ordered a Series 6 SMS66MI02A from appliance online for A$1036, make in Germany as well. The reviews are way better because it's a new model, most owner reviews are within 1 - 3 years of purchase, so it's very positive, while most of this SMS69T series' reviews are in between 2014-2016, which is close to it's problem-less `designed` lifespan.
NOTE: some homework / research indicated that these Bosch dishwashers come with a design which allows water to leak into the bottom panel, in theory under normal workloads the liquid will dry out before the next run, if the machine is continuously used in a different pattern (heavier), E15 error should be expected, and once E15 appears, the machine will soon become very annoying, good luck with it.

Prone to failures at 4 year life – Bosch dishwasher SMS69T18AU/01SERIAL # 013020275263016349. Purchased 22 Feb 2014: Purchased for $ 1510 @ Good Guys plus $ 169 for additional warranty via Good Guys. Dec 2018: Various events of Fault code E015 then cleared but then failed and finally stopped with a E09. Activated the Good Guys extended warranty REF# 21777. At this point i believe… Read more
Bosh should have dealt with this at no charge in hindsight considering the amount of failure by other customers i have read.
3 Jan 2019: First tech visit by so called authorised repairer ( PROUD APPLIANCES ) in West Aust via the Good Guys extended warranty luckily 1 month short of the cutoff of 22 Feb 2019. So this unit has lasted 5 years until first fault.Tech claimed that the heat element and pump assembly failed then also for some reason had to put a new power supply module in??? As if when the heat pump fails and leaks it also damages the power supply either by moisture or by the failing element. One would think this german engineered and manufactured item as it is highly mentioned in all Boschs sales propaganda would make electronic parts not get wet when another part blows out. Hey its a dishwasher and uses water??
21 Jan 2019: Proud Appliance tech finally comes back with the parts and supposedly fixes it and possibly the root cause of problem. Another point was bosch parts took 3 weeks to obtain.
16 Nov 2019: Fails again on E015 code. Here we go again. Same issue with water found in bottom tray. Left off for few days so liquid clears turn on as instructed and now have a E01. Speak to Bosch Customer service REF: 0970369948 and explain this machine has not provided value for money and it has failed 2nd time after above repair etc as above. But they stick by the rhetorical 2 year warranty rule and warned me that we can decide to go ahead at our cost and allocated an authorised service company ( SELECT APPLIANCE SERVICE ) Then find allocated agent doesn't even travel to our area. I speak to proposed tech at least he was willing to advise, and tells me that E01 is catastrophic failure usually of power/ control module and that most likely damaged from getting wet from the events leading up to the E015 issue. So it appears this a usual fault with these dishwashers having a inherent design flaw that Bosch want to simply brush aside as I read now with the other reviews here. Hey they just superseded the model and produce another one slightly different and use that old excuse. I took the side panel off and waited for the unit dry out in bottom tray and waited a few days switched off. 3 days later it has come back to life and i did 2 x hygiene plus cycles and on second one can see the gasket around the filter sump assembly leaking. The machine then throws a code E15 again..
So now its the sump seal or was it always there and was the first issue. Does this seal leak because of some heat and overpressure issue within on hygiene plus mode. I personally feel this unit cant handle the high temperatures causing seals to fail and heaters to burn out..code E09 etc which then overloads the power supply and burns that out.
Australian Consumer commission should get involved in the appliance lifespan and fit for purpose commiserate with original cost. And we should not have to pay for retailers extension warranties. Looks like these Bosch dishwashers fall in the Lemon category so I got 5 years out of it with a built to fail design. Thanks Bosch!!
Would love your take on this issue...and if the equivalent series 8 sold now SMS88TI01A HAS BEEN REDESIGNED TO STOP THE ISSUES ABOVE?? Plus if you want to back up your propoganda of german made and designed...give us consumers a direct 5 year warranty at least!!

Not good enough – Having to replace this dishwasher as the heater pump and sensor have both gone on it. So disappointed in Bosch, we paid $1,700 for this dishwasher thought buying German made we would be buying a quality dishwasher. We may as well have gone to Kmart. Biggest waste of money ever. Bosch dishwasher – Our home is open plan and our old dishwasher (dishlex) died and was industrially noisy. This model is whisper quiet. We often open the door whilst it’s running it’s that quiet. Majority of the time it cleans quite well The downfalls are it smells horrid regularly. As yes we do clean it regularly. And it doesn’t dry very well through to not at… Read more · 1
all. It must be opened up directly after finishing and trays pulled out slightly to air dry ( a good teenage prompter to empty it)
The quietness cancels out all negatives for us though
Not sure exactly when purchased, a few years ago and gets well used by our family of 6.
Didn't last long enough – Unfortunately like a lot of other reviews on this site, I am not satisfied with the life of this expensive product. It is just over three years old and bought as part of an entire kitchen package. In the last 2 months is onto it's second repair! The product is obviously not designed to last! The first repair was water leaking from the sump seal,… Read more
causing the machine to trip the circuit. It cost me several hundred dollars to get 4 screws tightened which is apparently a common problem.
Now a few weeks later, it is not heating water. I have been quoted that the service costs and parts will cost well over $500. This is not good enough for such an expensive machine and when added together amounts to a significant proportion of a new machine.
This is the second Bosch dishwasher that I have owed. The first was fabulous. This model obviously was poorly built. I'm not willing to invest that amount of money to repair this and i won't be making the mistake of buying another Bosch! I'll give my money to another company.
Poor quality. 3 year life is not good enough – Less than 3 years old but out of warranty. Machine has no power. Technician (at cost of $100) tells me that the main power board has failed and will cost around $500 to replace. Used to think Bosch was good quality. Won't be buying another. Would think a dishwasher priced a close to $2000 would last more than 3 years. Now need to decide whether to spend the $500 or buy a reliable product. Show details

This is perfect, can't live without it! – Great dishwasher. Have had different so called "Australian" made machines in the past but I can't go past this German made machine. Its lives up to the precision made standard that this brand is expected to live up to. It is very quiet and cleans very effectively, even better than other expensive dishwashers in the same price range. Just love the cutlery draw tray & the adjustable other racks for when yo have large pots & pans to wash. Show details · 1
Rubbish !! – Junk !!! E09 3 days before warranty expired, fixed by tech, 20 days later dead again with e04 !! Was told will need to pay as out of warranty.. nope not worth the risk, bought a new dishwasher with a 6 year extended warranty... you will get not another cent from me Bosch.. your crappy $1500 dishwasher lasted 2 years... not good enough Show details

Wonderful dishwasher with a major flaw – We purchased this dishwasher when we bought a new house. We had previously had three Bosch dishwashers, two of which we purchased ourselves. The one we "inherited" with our recent house purchase had a major flaw that had been advertised to us in showrooms as a marvellous new feature that would revolutionise dishwashers - a top level cutlery… Read more · 1
tray! Well we think Bosch has botched their dishwashers with this thing. We found that there were three problems: there are three trays that need to be filled not two, which is fiddly. The cutlery has to be placed carefully or it does not wash properly, which is time-consuming. And thirdly, the height above the middle tray is compromised and things like tall wine glasses will not fit. The heights of both trays can be varied but there is only so much room under a bench. The solution for us was to put the top tray in the attic where it can do no harm and buy two $2.50 cutlery baskets that sit in the bottom tray. Now we can through the cutlery down there standing on end so that it all gets washed reliably. We are not impressed by Bosch's revolutionary top trays but love everything else about their dishwashers.
This has do be the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. It has done nothing but give us troubl – The worst machine I have ever had. I thought by buying bosch it would be excellent, it has had a problem with the pump from day one and now that the warranty has run out the pump has totally stops working, it is smelly and does not clean the dishes. One useless machine – Purchased this machine 3 year ago this month. Run beautifully, cleaned dishes perfectly but sounded like a car running outside so not quite at all. Works as expected for the price paid – Cleans, dries and do all works as expected for a $1400 washing machine. It is very quiet, good finish and simple program buttons. I will update about the reliability as time passes. 1 year with an average usage of 3 days a week. Personal preference is to have the buttons outside and possibility of customising programs, for .e.g I want only… Read more · 1
washing not drying. The reason for that is I want to run the 'pre- wash' again just to be sure all the soap is washed away, rather than dried. This is not a Bosch only gripe, I would like that functionality for any dishwasher.
I hate this machine – When I purchased this machine, I wrote a review because I was very unhappy with the cutlery tray and the fact that I could not fit my wine glasses in the machine. To wash wine glasses, I have to remove the cutlery tray which is very inconvenient. 12 months on it is worse than ever, it does not wash clean even on the over 2 hour cycle with dinner… Read more
plates 2 spaces apart. I almost have to wash everything twice. The filter needs to be cleaned at least once a week and it clogs up very easily. I can go on and on but I would never recommend anyone to buy this machine. If it was not so expensive, I would ditch it and buy a new one but at $1800 I cannot afford to do that.

Terrible – It is a terrible model. It has failed after just 16 months so it has had to be replaced. We gave it to our daughter when she shifted into a new house as we had a Bosch and think it is brilliant. It did not clean properly and the electronics failed after 16 months. Against our advice, she has bought another Bosch. Made in Germany, very expensive but a complete dud.

Great Dishwasher - But – Would give this 5 stars if the dishwasher didn't have an online documented history of the exact same fault. company who, after trial and error, found that it was a fault in the front display that was causing the issue. The trial and error also involved replacing the motherboard and pump on the machine, however the fault only disappeared after the front digital display was replaced. Thankfully. Very happy to have it back and working again as it is otherwise a very good machine. Extended warranty also purchased after warnings about the digital control.
Not worth the money – I purchased this dishwasher from Harvey Norman as they said the Bosch was very reliable and a lot better quality than most of the other imported dishwashers. Installed it and in 9 days - the check water and refill rinse aid lights came on flashing- and the machine won't do anything - can't reset it or get it to do anything - ACCC say that for a… Read more
major fault or for something that is advertised but doesn't do what it says - a full refund or a replacement machine should be given - Bosch customer service want to repair it - a month to wait for a service call or ship it 100kms to a repairer - not good enough - 9 days out of a $1500 dishwasher - refund or replace!!!!!!!
After finally getting a replacement dishwasher - it works fine
Cleans well, dries plastics well, very happy, time will tell durability! – After having 3 control boards go on my not so old LG and becoming dismayed at the "built in obsolescence" which seems to be the trend with whitegoods, we resorted to handwashing for about 6 months. Decided to splurge on this model and get one of the few remaining models made in Germany, fortunately got a good special on Appliances Online. Time… Read more · 1
will tell whether it warrants the extra cost and hopefully the durability it should have.
From these early weeks we are very happy - using only the Quick Cycle (30 mins) with the Intensive Drying boost, it is cleaning beautifully and dries the toddlers plastic cups, bowls, plates etc that we have lots of. My mum has a cheaper Bosch model and it doesn't dry plastics well so I am relieved that this model does. Very quiet, only really hear the water going back down the drain in the cupboard and cant hold the dishwasher accountable for that.
The location of the control buttons inside the top of the door is also a winner with young kids - no buttons to fiddle with stops the endless "NO don't touch" arguments. Our Microwave Start button is dodgy now from when our 4 year old was a toddler so I wasn't keen to have another appliance get broken!
I kept hold of the cutlery basket from our old dishwasher and use one part of it (it was in 3 sections) in the bottom drawer to complement the upper cutlery tray - there are some things (eg baby nurofen dosing syringes) that just don't wash in a horizontal cutlery tray. Otherwise we find the cutlery tray very good and overall there is lots of space inside the dishwasher, especially compared to cheaper models which seem to have a very high bottom tub taking up a lot of internal space. We are still getting used to which cups to put where etc but it stacks well and plenty of flexibility to customise the racks to suit your range of dishes.
Fingers crossed it stands the test of time!
Another awesome product from Bosch! – Having lost my previous Bosch dishwasher suddenly I went back to the drawing board, sifting through reviews, and looked at all brands/models. I ended up purchasing the SMS69T18AU, through a top deal with The Good Guys, and am stunned at how wonderful it is and the improvements on the last model. Delighted – Our 10 year old plus dishwasher recently died - a Fisher and Paykel Nautilus which had been a real work horse. away on the top of the door so little fingers can't play with the buttons. The clean is excellent as long as you select the correct program (so don't choose the ECO option if your plates have caked on food scraps). It is very quiet - sometimes we forget that it's turned on. The front display is clear and easy to understand. It's also an attractive appliance.
I hadn't seen a cutlery tray in a dishwasher before. It look a little getting used to but I have been very pleased with the results.
We found two minor downsides. Firstly, the machine beeps loudly (about 4 times) at the end of the program. If you have set it at night and then go to bed, it's a bit too loud. Secondly, the middle tray for loading your cups is a little low. Tall cups won't fit properly and you certainly couldn't get a wine glass in there.

Does almost fantastic job – We have just purchased this dishwasher, got it a couple of weeks of ago, and so far it has been great, it is so quiet, you forget it is on, and for the most part it washes the dishes a lot better than our old one. Best dishwasher we have used – I don't normally write reviews of kitchen appliances, but I am so impressed with this dishwasher that I feel the need to share the joy. We have owned it for around 18 months. It just does what a dishwasher is meant to do. It washes dishes. No pre-rinsing required (using common sense of course). It leaves no residue. in a hot dry area so we did not bother with the zeolite model) - if there are cups that trap water in their bases a simple jiggle of the shelves after the cycle will dry them in no time, otherwise it dries everything. Very quiet too. I would recommend it to anyone. Don't bother with cheaper brands/models, they are a false economy. I am sick of junk on the market so when something comes along that is properly engineered it needs to be applauded. Nice one Bosch.
Had better Dishwashers – After going through the Reviews of the Bosch Dishwasher I thought this one is the one to buy. they do not sit close on top of each other. Not to happy with this product at all especially for the money you pay. Will persist for another week but if not satisfied will ask for money back. they have done it as it doesn't seem possible, but the amount of things we can fit inside this one is just crazy.
Our old dishwasher could really only fit cups on the top rack. The side plates would only fit on the bottom rack. In the Bosch we can fit our big plates on the bottom rack, our side plates on the middle rack all while still having the top rack for cutlery.
The amount of space means we don't have to run the dishwasher as often.
Wash performance is good.
Drying is better than our old one, although it still helps to open the door to let the steam out at the end of the cycle.
The only thing we don't like about it so far is the annoying beep at the end of the cycle. There are 4 volume levels. Off, low, med, high. There is almost no difference between the levels so we have had to just leave it off.
This machine replaced a 10 year old second hand Asko. The space!, build quality, wash performance Spray arms are plastic ( seems standard on new machines ), annoying loud beep at the end of the wash cycle
Quality product – After many months dealing with issues with a samsung dishwasher I finally made the switch and what a difference! to the Dishlex which means we are doing fewer loads.
After initially having concerns about the cutlery drawer we are now converts to this system as we are noticing our cutlery is coming out cleaner & completely dry due to the better separation the drawer system offers over having everything bunched together in a conventional cutlery basket.
We also appreciate having a visible low rinse aid light & written warning in the display panel which is impossible to overlook as it displays while you are setting the desired program options. It also powers itself down 2 minutes after completing a load (after giving an audible & visual notification it's finished) so you can set it to wash & go to bed knowing it wont be left on all night using power.
Overall we are finding the Bosch washes better, dries better, holds more due to the cutlery drawer system, uses less water & energy and is quieter than any previous dishwasher we have ever owned. What's not to like?!
Highly Recommended! Washes & Dries effectively, Water & Energy efficiency, Very Quiet Operation, Versatile Racking Options, Cutlery Drawer System, Flood Protection, Auto Power Down. Some types of plastic dont quite dry properly but every dishwasher we have ever owned has had the same issue
Fantastic unit, well worth the extra cost – I bought the Bosch SMS69T18AU after returning a terrible Smeg that I had for 1 week and had failed, it was a toss up between a Bosch, or an LG and I went with the Bosch based on reputation (the 6 month supply of tablets helped a little too!) close to the level of this one - I was used to having to rinse everything before it went in, and scrub pots/pans first just to get them clean - not so with the Bosch - I have put in some pretty dirty pots and baking trays and they have all come out perfectly, every time.
Drying performance has been an issue in the past as well, and the Bosch performs well here - it doesn't quite get all plastics dry if they are on the middle rack, but far better than any other model I have used.
The 3rd rack for cutlery is really versatile, as is the whole racking system - it's amazing how much you can fit in this thing! Easy to use, versitile racks, child lock, Digital display
