Good machine. Same as the Siemens EQ5 which gets great reviews – Got this second hand. Made a lowsy coffee and next to no crema. All it needed was a good thorough clean and descale. Grind setting is on the finest setting. Coffee setting is on espresso. Perfect 65 degree espressos with good crema now. Does need constant rinses to get a good crema for the next day. Issue I find is that even with a warm cup,… Read more
milk frothing tends to bring the temp down to 50 degrees. Even if i give the air frother a good rinse also.
If it had a manual frother and attchment ie just the tip rather than the suction hose, itd be a perfect machine.
For $50 ($1300RRP), its a good machine and almost on par with Delonghi magnifica machines i work on.
Oh and super quiet grinder. Ceramic grinders makes all the difference here.
good machine – Makes nice espresso. Easy to clean. Milk frother isn't great though - the bubbles are too large, and milk not hot enough. Also, the front/head regularly comes away from the machine and steam goes everywhere Have to push it back on, but is sitting crooked. Disappointing on an expensive machine. Show details · 1
Pull milk frother function – One of the worst purchases I have gotten. Worked well initially. As soon as it hit the end of warranty period, kept having it periodically come up with "pull milk frother" function. Did this for about 6months to a year quite regularly and now will not work full stop. It appears as though we are not even able to replace a part to fix it as it seems… Read more
this is a common problem for this machine. Not impressed. Liked the machine until it came up with this issue. Expect when you spend that much money on something that it would last past the warranty period and not just completely cease to function.
Machine will break on you! – This machine is stuck on the common problem of 'pull milk frother' loop (see other comments). I have called customer service and was told someone (technician from bosch) would come out for a $90 fee and around $10 a minute labor plus parts to fix it. When you spend $1000 on a coffee machine you don't expect it to break so soon. Being out of… Read more
warrantee I have decided to throw it out and blacklist Bosch products. I thought they were of high lasting quality. I was wrong. DO NOT BUY! - and please don't sent me a stupid "hi! we're so sorry you're having this problem, please call...." because if you read what I wrote you will see I already did that.
Poor service and warranty – Purchased 21/2/2015 and found it easy to use and the coffee was good.I always clean as the machine instructed until approx 8 weeks ago when the message "pull milk frother" appeared after a calc'n'clean procedure. The machine has been with the service agent since that day with no satisfaction from Bosch or the agent. I have spoken to & left messages with the after sales support team but have not received a call back.
Perfect auto coffee maker for coffee lovers – The best investment we have made, very popular with guests. Does everything, cleaning can be painful sometimes ;) makes better coffee than some coffee shops Show reply
Bosch warranty and customer service lacking - coffee cold and weak – I have several Bosch appliances but this coffee machine has been full of buyers regret. It produces weak coffee at 45 c. So I tried to get it fixed under warranty and Bosch have not lived up to their promises. When trying to lodge my warranty at Bosch online it wouldn't accept the correct model details. When calling the customer service I gave… Read more
my details only to ring back and find they are still not in the Bosch system.
When trying to follow up the warranty claim I was told it was out of warranty by the service agent (3 months old).
So I tried Bosch again and they promised a followup but never called me back.
Very disappointed for a brand that should do better....

Decent coffee – I bought this machine for a very low price from an online store and was satisfied with the coffee quality. If compared to a Jura impress J5, it is noisier and slower, but the taste is just as good so it seemed like good buy. Unfortunately, within just a couple of months and only having gone through less than 1/2 a kilo of beans, the machine stopped working. Maybe i was just unlucky.

Does everything well – This is my third coffee machine and my second automatic with grinding etc. This time we wanted one that could do a cappuccino for my wife and would automatically froth milk etc. I had never heard of Bosch making a coffee machine, however our dishwasher was so good we thought we’d give it a go. We have had the machine for 3 months now and had a… Read more · 2
chance to live with it and work out the pros and cons.
It is a really good machine. Start up is quick, operation is simple and the grinder is much quieter than our previous machine. The water testing kit and ability to set the water hardness will save us a lot of money in descaling tablets as the old machine demanded them much more often.
Coffee quality is good and milk frother works really well. There are a good selection of options and adjustments and I really love that I can get it to do two large cups which fills my 600ml coffee bucket. The double shot option is also great for a morning hit.
The cleaning functions are also quite straightforward including rinsing the milk frother. I have done a full clean and the machine is cleverly designed and easy to pull apart. Most items can go in the dishwasher, however not all (bummer). The other thing is that my last machine had everything pull out the front so it sat in a little nook on the bench. In use the Bosch only needs a little bit more space, however as the brewing unit pulls out the side I need to move it to do a full clean, only a small inconvenience. Quick start and reasonably quiet for the early coffee, simple to use Side loading means that it needs a bit more space than it's footprint.
