great machine, so easy to use and makes the perfect cappuccino even with plant based milk Show details
Easy to use, set up and clean. Requieres some maintenance. Recommended Show details
Okay coffee. Extremely hard to keep the machine clean. Not worth the effort – We replaced a Delonghi Primadonna so for full disclosure we were coming down from a $3000 machine to a $1000 machine. The Philips makes coffee *almost* as good as the Delonghi did, although it takes a bit of trial and error with the settings. Where it loses marks is in how hard/tedious it is to clean and the annoyingly top-heavy and unstable milk… Read more
canister. Although the Delonghi's milk canister needed full disassembly and hand washing every week, the Philips takes *much* longer to clean because coffee grounds practically explode inside the machine and grow mould if not cleaned out weekly. There are so many nooks and crannies that you can never remove all the caked-on grounds and you end up with a mess all over the bench in doing so. The Delonghi did not have this issue. Back to the milk canister, what has prompted me to write this review is we just bumped the canister in our fridge and because of its top-heavy design and very narrow base, milk is now all throughout our fridge. Very stupid design choice by Philips. It also says 'Add Water' all the time when the jug is still 50% full, and it will even stop mid-stream to tell you this. So I find myself refilling the water for nearly every coffee to avoid this. Again, tedious and time-consuming. I would never buy this machine or recommend to anyone - get a Delonghi instead, even a cheaper model, which surely doesn't have these design flaws.
Good coffee machine for the price, some design quirks could be improved – After using it for about four months, this coffee machine is good value for money. Bought from DJ, had a special discount plus cash back from Phillips on top of it is awesome value! Have lots of options to customise your drink, from the strength of coffee aroma, volume of coffee and milk separately, etc. good temperatures, have set it on high as… Read more · 1
we like our coffee hot but wish it can be slightly hotter than the maximum allowed. My fave send up just setting the coffee aroma midway as per default setting for the latte macchiato, after playing around with different levels, but that’s just my preference.
The grinder is reasonably quiet. Milk froth container easy to wash as they come apart into easy to wash pieces and can be placed into dishwasher.
Easy cleaning operation in the machine’s digital menu, have done two monthly coffee oil removal cleaning (tablets bought separately) and the process is simple and guides you along the way. Nice one.
Just a few minor downsides of it after using for four months: (note these doesn’t affect the coffee’s taste and quality, only minor annoying things that could’ve been improved). 1. The machine sometimes gives false “full coffee puck container” when there’s only 2-3 pucks in there. So I had to pull out the tray , give it a bit of a shake so the pucks lie flat at the bottom of the container and put the tray back in 2. Coffee grinder has this protrusion that’s just too close to the side, and beans always get stuck in there. Had to use a thin object like spoon handle to pry those beans out. See attached photo and you’ll know what I mean. 3. Water tank level is a bit hard to see from the front especially if you’re limited in space and have a wall or other appliances on the right side of the machine. A transparent window at the front would’ve been helpful to allow easier view of water tank level. 4. Wish the milk frother spout is adjustable, sometimes with a slightly smaller cup opening it might just spill over as the aim can be a bit off to the position of the cup.
Excellent Machine great hot coffee – Great machine wife & myself love it from day one had a ( Delonghi prima donna before this machine 5 times in for repair under warranty then out of warranty another repair as well) . Philips 4300 has stronger coffee using the same beans as well as much hotter coffee and milk is hotter as well, the milk system is so much better to keep clean overall no compliants with this machine 10 out of 10 so far Show details · 3
How much longer should I persevere? – I'm really trying very hard to love my machine (4300 LatteGo), I really want to, but hubby hates it, (more than 6 months later) and so far I'm struggling to say too many good things about it! I love the simplicity of it, but trying to get a decent coffee is a struggle. It's drinkable but nothing like I expected out of this expensive machine. … Read more
I'm using top quality beans purchased from a high end and popular cafe. It's difficult to also speak to someone to get some solid advice. I'm now thinking of getting rid of it - copping the loss, and buying another pod machine, which I upgraded to this one.
Absolutely love it! – I replaced my Beko semi automatic coffee machine with this, and couldn't be happier I did so! I was lucky enough to get it cheaper as a change of mind purchase on Amazon. Hadn't even been taken out of the box (my guess is unwanted gift) It's so easy to use, the setup was absolutely hassle free for someone like myself who isn't known for being tech… Read more · 2
savvy. The coffee comes out perfect everytime, my absolute favourite is latte machiatto. The temperature is perfect and can be adjusted to suit peoples preference. You can also choose the intensity of the coffee, how much froth, and how many mls of water. The extra options are perfect for making hot chocolate (my kids love this ) We just use the hot water function after putting chocolate powder in a cup. They love it when we put some froth on top and a mini marshmallow. I have completely stopped buying coffees from coffee shops, because I have my own coffee shop at home for a fraction of the price! All my family are in love with my coffee machine, my brother has a very expensive coffee machine that does everything you can think of and cost him thousands of dollars, and he couldn't believe how good this one is. Considering my brother is a coffee snob, this is very much a compliment. The best thing is it's so simple to use that my daughters, whom are 14 and 12, can use it with ease and are always offering to make me coffee lol. Very happy with this little gem, and wouldn't be without it now!
Great machine with a few minor flaws – I've owned this machine for approx 8mths and have clocked up nearly 1000 coffees of different types. Lattego system works really well but drips from the spout after making a coffee and can make a mess of your drip tray or fridge. If the unit runs out of water mid way through making a coffee it will allow you a certain time to fill and press the… Read more · 1
resume button. This amount of time needs to be extended slightly along with an audible alarm as i don't stand there watching my coffee and don't know if it's paused unless i look at it. The water tank could do with being slightly larger. The unit vibrates and can move the glass away from the milk spout causing a major clean up. This is only with the lighter dual walled latte glasses. The grinder settings can be a little fiddly and hard to see as the numbers are same colour as the dial. All in all a fantastic reliable machine. Well worth the money!
Great little coffee machine, just a bit unreliable – The quality of the coffee is very good and consistent as well as the temperature. The only negative is the unreliable action of the on/off button, sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes or so to be activated. Show details · 1
A Great Machine – I've had this machine for approximately 6 months now. I can't find a fault with this unit. It makes great coffee, quick to set up and use and very easy to clean. Show details · 1
As far as I'm concerned it's perfect – The EP4346 LatteGo has buttons for 8 different fresh beans coffees and can record individual preferences for each. So, your preferred blend is saved and can be recalled with the touch of a button. Each brew can be modified to your taste for strength, amount of water and amount of milk (if a milk coffee). The machine has ceramic grinders so you… Read more · 1
will get a consistent grind for a very long time. The milk system is outstanding with no hard-to-clean tubes and the components can even go into the dishwasher. It is a neat unit that doesn't take up too much space on the bench. I cannot recommend this machine highly enough, I love it. The build quality is very good and the price is very reasonable for what you get. This is the third automatic coffee machine I have had over the past 16 years and it is by far the best.
