Bosch WFL2400AU

Really reliable excellent product – Really reliable excellent product. Owned since new, used frequently for at least 18 years. Newer models have some additional features such as being able to add items to wash after commencement. Much more gentle on clothes than a top loader. Only rare problems were with coins etc but the process to get them out of the system is well documented in the manual. Show details ·  1

What a great machine!! – I got this bosh when I first moved out of home at 21 … 1 -2 washes a week for the last 19 + years … and it finally did its last wash today 27/12/2021 . Will be buying another Bosh ! Show details ·  1

Terrific and faithful machine! – We have owned ours for 19 years and it has been completely reliable. We have only had to have one repair (new brushes) but otherwise it has been run with a family sized load pretty much every day. It is now going to be retired for a newer model but we are replacing it with a similar Bosch. Terrific and faithful machine! Show details ·  1

Was reliable and washed well for 10 years – My wife and I owned ours for 10 years from new, and we loved it. It was great on water and power, and it wasn't too noisy. The only problem was that it died (motor blew) and was half the price of a brand new machine to fix....not ideal. Hope the new machine lives up to our expectations.  Show reply

Brought second hand, 10 + years keeps going – After reading all the bad reviews of this though I had better put my 2 cents in. Brought second hand about 9 years ago, moved it around the contry, more than once. It just keeps going, washes all good and wont die.  Show reply

Would have thought it would have lasted longer – I brought my bosch in 2006 and it has been a great machine but unfortunately my circuit board short circuited and its not working now i don't think 8 years is a long time for a product you pay a premium for I had a repair man out the whole board needs replacing cost is over $700 mark, which is crazy. I think from now on I am going to buy a cheaper product with an extended warranty so if they break down after 8 years I have done well..  Show reply

PCB (the PCB -printed circuit board- start switch kept sticking) this was repaired at a cost of $130 for labour and materials. Recently the machine stopped and we were advised that the replacement parts (a new PCB and stabilisers are required) cost in the order of $734 to buy plus labour to install (Why are parts so costly with high Australian Dollar ??). We purchased a new front loader washing machine (not a Bosch) for around the same price as the cost of spares from Bosch. In addition I researched the cost of spares and found that Bosch are one of the highest (if not the highest) cost for replacement parts. As a comparative example we had a toploader (not a Bosch) for approx 10 years prior to purchasing the new Bosch without any major issues except belt replacements (after about 7-8 years operation) and a minor timer issue . Repairs were in the order of $200 over that period the machine was given away to friends (and is still operating).

The moral of this story is give Bosch a miss. Good washing cycle and washes replacement parts are too expensive

Short life & expesive to repair – We have owned the machine for 7 years with light use (1-2 washes a week). It's slow to wash but otherwise worked ok. Bosch was a good brand. We will never buy another bosch product. They don't have good support and are an inferior product. Reasonably quiet - (even more so when its broken down) Expensive to purchase and even more expensive to repair - if they have the parts. Short life. Poor support from Bosch.

5 years! First 3 years hardly used. Cost to repair is more than $680! Given I paid about $1,100 for what I thought was a premium product, I am very disappointed. Wouldn't buy Bosch again. Repairs far too costly!

Terrible – Avoid at all costs. Had exactly the same problem as noted in the other review, clearly a problem with this model. Ok wash when it worked. Takes a long time. 4 year old machine stopped working and just goes to ready without washing.

Terrible – not impressed at all. I have always used front loader washing machines, but this has got to be the worst by far. Nothing good to say about it. quick wash takes far too long. I am used to a front loader Zanussi, but this bosch takes twice as long. soap powder remains on washing. intermittent fault, start washng then going to ready without performing wash, $600 repair for a 4 year old machine

Terrible – Had the machine for 4 years and the machine no longer starts when I push the button, it takes about 1 million pushes to start it. Also all the display lights are permanently lit up even when not supposed to be. Its going to cost $700 to be repaired and as per other reviews I thought I was paying good money for a reliable machine but that was not the case. No help from Bosch! Washed alright when working Long wash even for the quick wash
