Frustrating – Bose Sleepbuds 2 stopped functioning properly after about 18 months of owing them, and I probably only used them once or twice a week. When I need them now one won’t pair, then when it does it’ll drop connection. If feeling infuriatingly frustrated is what helps you sleep then by all means get these. I’m writing this at 1am after having another sleepless episode trying to get these to work. Show details

Break repeatedly – I bought these a couple of years ago to replace wax earplugs that I was using - to mask the sound of a snoring partner. I could afford the price, but baulked at the eye-watering cost for a pair of ear buds that I can't use to listen to music. That being said though, they work very well. I'm soothed to sleep and stay asleep despite the buzz-saw… Read more

sleeping next to me. The hiccup is that one bud stopped working gradually over time. This happened no less than three times. Three long conversations with Bose. Three replacements. Look, Bose's customer service was very good once we'd stepped through the issue each time. My latest replacement is the Quietcomfort buds, which I can't sleep with (too bulky) but are excellent noise-reducing ear buds. Oh well.

Sleep Buds 2 dumped – Very disappointed with Bose discontinuing the sleep buds. Paid hundreds of dollar a year ago and now they are useless. I foolishly went for Buds 2 after the Buds 1 recall and there you go. That's what loyalty does. Never again Bose Show details

Absolutely love them, but after 3 years they no longer keep a decent charge – I cannot sleep without them now. They are comfortable and really do mask the majority of noise. I have them on all night, and after about 3 years of use they don't hold enough charge to get through a full night anymore. It's kind of disappointing as I really do love them. I'll probably buy another set soon as I've seen other users reporting a… Read more

similar issue and getting no support from Bose on it. Would be great if Bose came to the party and offered some kind of discount or even a replacement battery if that's possible.....

anyway, would be an absolute 5 star rating if the battery lasted

Do not buy this product! – We have a house full of Bose products so we're excited when the first Bose Sleep buds came out (unfortunately I snore!!). My husband loved them but the battery was an issue for ours and, given it was a major fault, Bose did a recall and we got our money back. We were happy they stood behind their product. Given the battery situation was meant to… Read more

be remedied, Bose released the Sleepbuds II. Again, I was quick to buy these and, at $379.95, a significant investment was made (late Oct 22). However, my husband hasn't used the sleep buds for awhile (thanks to my new CPAP machine) but, given local noise, charged them up only to find they didn't charge. He's written to Bose, done every trick in the book AND nothing has worked. The battery is the common problem AGAIN and Bose is no longer selling them. What's worse though is that BOSE is not doing a recall but offering a replacement set costing you $285 for Sleepbuds 2!! Why on earth would we waste more money on this faulty product? We now have a very expensive set of unusable Sleepbuds.

Bose Sleepbuds 2 – I moved to Sydney July 2021 and got my first pair in August. They're absolutely amazing... when they work. They lasted about 6 months and just stopped pairing completely. Leading up to this they gradually got quieter over time even with cleaning. Myer was good enough to replace these on the spot and I got my second pair. I've been super gentle… Read more

with these and they have also got quieter over time even with cleaning, in the last few months if I take the right one out first the left one wont connect, its very odd. 80% of the time I have to reseat them completely, close the app and hope they connect. Honestly its very sad because these buds have helped my deep sleep and sleep over all so much (I track sleep data) and when they work they make life great but the issues that come with them after such a short time is not really acceptable of this brand or the price. I also brought a pair for my flatmate and her ones lasted about a year as well. If you buy this product and there are extended warranties available I highly suggest getting one. I do give this product a 5/5 for when theyre new and when they work. You won't find anything better.

Constant faults, and terrible customer service – Was sceptical when researching as this was an expensive product and I needed something that was both comfortable as a side sleeper, but also block out noises as an extremely light sleeper. The smallest noises can wake me up. So far, I've used it on three occassions. And whilst not through a very noisey background yet, I've slept through things… Read more

that would normally wake me up and the sounds through the app are pleasant and better than my usual white noise with wired earphones. Also, whilst not as important, packaging was very impressive.

EDIT: This product displayed faults after a week, with earbuds disconnecting, the sound crackling and charging problems. I mentioned concerns that I would be going on holiday and would be staying in hostels and require the Sleepbuds for the trip, so asked if a replacement would arrive before then, or otherwise I could send the products for a replacement after the trip. On April 10, they said they would send a replacement product and it will arrive by next week, which I was happy to hear. April 21, I call and ask what's going on, as I haven't received the replacement yet, stressing the urgency. They said everything is fine and I should receive in by next Wednesday. April 24, I call again - asking why I haven't received a shipping label. They then say that the product hasn't even been sent, and they don't know when it will arrive. By this time, it's a week until I depart. They don't know the status of their own products, and they've been lying the whole time. Now, I have no product for the trip, which is critical to getting sleep in the hostel. I mentioning I initially wanted a refund so I could get an alternative product in time, and they lied to avoid a refund. When I then asked about a refund, they said I'll have to speak to the store I bought it from, which is another lie, as they previously said with another agent they have to ask their managers to authorise refunds (and so did the store!) Now I have no time to get an alternative product and have a significant amount of stress for the trip.

EDIT2: I got back from my trip. And Bose STILL hasn't even sent out the replacement, two months after it was meant to arrive. Time to try and get a refund from these guys...

Sleepbuds II – Pros: Beautifully designed. super comfortable (much better than traditional foam plugs). great build quality from charging case to buds themselves. stays in ears overnight more often than foamies. phone-free mode option to turn off Bluetooth waves if that is a concern. Passive sound blocking (without noise masking sounds on) allows enough sound in… Read more

that you can comfortably watch tv or talk to your partner in bed with these on and keep them in all night. Battery is decent, about 30-40% battery left after a 6-7 hour sleep including wear prior to going to sleep.

Cons: passive sound blocking (without noise-masking sounds on) is not as good as foamies if you want dead silence. Price is a tad high, I think around $200-250AUD would have been more reasonable.

Overall a great piece of equipment, I’d love to see the next version with active noise cancelling and/or better passive sound blocking performance! It would definitely be worth the $380 price tag with that kind of feature set.

Bose Sleepbuds II - Bose considers these Disposable items. No service agent to investigate problem – My Sleepbuds II are now out of warranty, but have been rarely used. discounted price of $285.

Bose is supposed to be a high end brand that provides quality products. Surely in this day and age Bose products should NOT be treated as disposable items. Surely a prestige brand such as Bose, should be more environmentally conscious, and have more respect for the consumer who pays good money with the expectation they are buying quality goods. I expected the goods not to break down so soon given the amount of use they'd had, and that there would be a service agent who would at least look at the goods to see if they could be repaired before declaring them irreparable. These goods should not be treated by Bose as an expensive (for the consumer) disposable item. Not good enough Bose.

Excellent….while they work – Performance was great but quality is very questionable. Good but not $300 worth good – This absolutely has helped me sleep better. There's so much noise on my street, and my husband snores so loudly. I definitely couldn't live without them. And you can select which days an… Read more

alarm is for.

Having said that, the issues and limitations of the earbuds have made me really disappointed simply because of how much they cost.

I bought a pair and within a couple of months I had to return them for a new pair as they just stopped working. The company were quite good about it and got me a new pair without much fuss.

Thankfully that didn't reoccur. But I must say the amount of times the right earbud just cuts out during the night for no reason, or the troubles actually getting them to connect each night have me wondering why they're so expensive.

Less an issue for me, but certainly worth mentioning on a device you pay so much for: you can't listen to anything except the Bose app, and further to that you have to actually download the sounds into your library on the app and can only fit so many. Meaning you have to delete some to make room if you want a new sound.

They're not huge issues. And I probably wouldn't even mind. But given how much you pay I expect no issues. Overall my sleeping is much improved.

Excellent, they live on my bedside table!! – I purchased in in April 2021 (Series II) from the Qantas Rewards Store, and use them about 2-3 times per week. Perfect nights sleep anywhere – I had the first version which were annoying to charge and had faults. The second version has been faultless. I love them - had them for about 8 months and use them all the time. Amazing for travelling too. You don’t have to worry getting woken by your hotel neighbour etc Just pick a volume that safe and comfortable. I like it up full volume when I know my husband is around but in a hotel room I have it at about a quarter volume so I’d still hear an alarm. A good nights sleep is priceless so I didn’t care about the cost but they are expensive. Also Bose replaced my first version and it was free and easy and I got sent my replacement. I can’t fault the customer service. It’s what I expect whe I buy something expensive.

Really uncomfortable – Christmas gift given as a solution to have white noise to help me sleep. The buds come with three different sized ear inserts. I tried the middle sized… Read more

and within a few hours my jaw and ears were hurting and unable to sleep with them in. Swapped to the smallest insert the next night and they didn't block out the noise as well and fell out during the night yet, still had the ear and jaw pain in the morning. For the price and reading the BOSE website would have expected the buds to be non-intrusive. There is a 90 day trial period so I will stick it out to see if I can get use to them but so far, not feeling the love for them.

BOSE Sleep Buds - They could be better! – I bought the Sleep-Buds-1 and found them extremely good. Use of sleeping pills dropped dramatically. But then BOSE recalled them due to a battery problem. Now I have Sleep-Buds-2. Somehow, they're not making the cut. The sleep sounds are different, and I believe I can hear 'subliminal' sounds in some of them that my mind starts to 'work on' and… Read more

sleep is kept waiting. There is a greater array of sounds but I find most are irritating. However, the most annoying aspect is the lack of independent volume controls. I have a significant deafness in one ear, and having an uneven balance of sound in my head does not help. Twice, I've mentioned this to BOSE and got told, "that's a great idea" but in 3-4 years nothing has happened. Given that each bud has its own bluetooth connection, providing separate volume controls should be a sinch if there's a will to do it. Finally, the battery charging system needs more attention than Buds-1; the charge quickly dissipates. Sadly, like so many companies, BOSE seems to have cut itself off from the world and made it difficult to communicate.

Bose sleepbuds an absolute waste of money – These sleepbuds were great for the first 3 or 4 uses. They are extremely difficult to get to connect to the charging station. I have waited over an hour to get them to connect to both my iPhone and my iPad. Then the left earbud wouldn’t connect. They have been a huge disappointment. I would never buy them again and would not recommend to anyone.

It helps me sleep well – It's comfortable to use and it has softer audio than normal earbuds/headphones so it won't damage your hearing, especially if you have tinnitus. I must admit it's quite expensive, but it helps me to sleep with the looping ambient sound. Sleep aid? Yes. Snoring solution? No. Too expensive for what you get – The Bose Sleep Buds are rechargeable Bluetooth driven cordless ear-bud style earphones that are controlled by an app on your smartphone. They normally live in a stylish case which recharges them, and in turn is recharged by a wall adapter. The app allows you to select a number of different soothing sounds to help you get to sleep..I use the… Read more

"rainfall" one. You can set how long the sounds play for, the volume level (with an advisory note if you set it loud enough to let you know you might not hear night time sounds you actually want to hear), and a wake up alarm if you wish. Like all Bose products, they are very good quality: the buds are comfortable to wear with a number of different sized soft rubber covers to cope with different sized ears. Battery life varies naturally according to how long you set the sounds to play, and the volume level. With a 90 minute run time and volume about 60%, I get 4-5 days before a recharge. I have used them now for over 6 months which I feel now allows me to comment more fully.

The buds are certainly very good for helping you nod off to sleep: select a nice calming sound at an appropriate volume level for an appropriate time, and they work very well. After a full night in, they can get a little uncomfortable in the morning, but you are usually not aware for this until you wake. Snoring however is a different matter. My spouse snores loudly every night, and if you set the volume at a lower level, the buds do not block it out. But if you set the volume loud enough to block the snoring out, it stops you getting to sleep! And if you decrease the music duration, once it stops, if the snoring re-starts, you are back to square one! In practicality, for stopping snoring they offer little advantage over foam earplugs, and in terms of relaxing sounds to help you sleep, there are far cheaper options available.

SUMMARY: Not recommended; not effective for loud snoring and far too expensive as a sleep aid

Fantastic. 3 weeks in - well rested – Had a couple nights getting it right. pretty quickly. 3rd night and every night since have volume 1/3rd of the way. Fantastic. I am only waking up once or twice can hear the chainsaw noise mildly within the rain noise but can get back to sleep I’d say instantly. Heaven!!! Prior to this I had years of my partner snoring in all different ways wasn’t constantly the same sound. Would be all different tunes and volumes so a lot of the time not easy to get back to sleep. And a lot of the times his head would be tilted towards my ear!! Had nights flicking up his pillow or bouncing up and down on the bed to disrupt him but then it would just continue normally in a different tune. Last few weeks have not been bouncing, flicking pillows, staring in the darkness for a good 1 - 1 1/2 hours (sometimes in one solid block of time) listening to the continually changing orchestral performance!

Laying on my side which I do towards the end of my sleep I, towards the end of this last week, found less disruptive to my sleep to pull it out of ear laying on and popping it on a tissue on bedside cupboard instead of sometimes having to centre my pillow or move my ear around a bit to get the way I felt completely comfortable. Never been uncomfortable plus just felt something was there.

Easy to load app on phone and set up for my not so technological brain.

To wake up once (and that could be due to needing to move not because of his noise) instead of a average of a good 6-12 times and at times taking sometimes 15 to 30 to 60 to 90 mins to get back to sleep multiple times during the night I feel way more refreshed and he can merrily chainsaw away and not have me try to interrupt his orchestral events that are performed most of the night. Also importantly I don’t feel like shoving him while he peacefully (for him only) sleeps.

Wish I had it years ago. Not watching my phone’s clock multiple times and getting frustrated. Never had so many good sleeps for many years. Wonderful! Early Xmas present - it was charging straight away. Not interested in getting it wrapped. Best present ever I bought for him for ME. He wasn’t impressed with the price (he sleeps!) but finally so do I.
