hospital on Monday and I am still in here . My oncologist at the hospital is trying to work out why my temp had been above 38 for 4 nights in a row. She asked my husband to bring in our thermoscan which he did tonight. The nurse took my temp at 9.20pm tonight and it was 37.1. I then used mine and it showed 38 which clearly is a big difference . I am not exactly sure which model it is as it doesnt say on it but could get the details from my bank. Can u pls explain the difference in the readings. I need an accurate thermometer and clearly this is not . Pls advise what I can do . Thanks

Excellent – A very reliable thermometer. Easy to use and gives a quick reading. Always seems to be consistent with accurate reads unlike previous brands I've tried. Would definitely recommend. Could improve on having a setting to turn the loud beep off so I have better changes of not waking a sleeping kid. But can't really fault it. Show details ·  1

Dangerous useless product – Our thermometer is less than 5months old and the readings fluctuate wildly. 37.4, check again immediately after 38.7. Worse than a hand on the forehead. worried about deterioration only to find temp 36.5 at the hospital. A perfect example of how expense does not equate quality!

How you could sell this product – I bought this one this morning and the readings were horrifying, very high at least 2 C, how dangerous is that when I started giving my boy nurofen and panadol every 4 hours, It was suspicious so I asked my wife to check her temperature and was 37.8 C a little bit high for healthy adult. Please do not put your children at risk with this product. I'm going to complaint about this much higher to prevent it from selling anywhere. Show details

Waste of $$$ – Consistently 2-3 degrees out. Measures normal body temp as 35.5 every time. So if your kid is sick with a 39 it reads 37. So they are actually pretty dangerous to have around. Tested it at the doctors and was told to bin it! Stick with a $5 thermometer for much better accuracy. Show details

Poor thermometer – It gives me different readings for each ear! The reading keeps on changing. It would read 36.8 and after a few seconds would read 38. How can I trust my baby's health to this inaccurate machine? Very inconvenient for babies as they get unsettled when they get a fever so the last thing they want is something inside their ears! would not recommend at all, at least for kids/babies.

Not accurate – Be careful. Pls be careful with this brand. It used to be very good and not anymore. Since July i sent 2 thermoscans to supplier. you have little kids which are helpless when they sick. And when kids are sick parents are helpless too

good for my child – I love this thing! No more holding a probe under the tongue or jamming one in the ear. Just point the Equinox at the forehead, press the button, and that's it! In only a couple seconds you have the temp. I took it with me to my doctor's and checked it with their thermometers. They have both under the tongue and in the ear. There was no difference!

Horrible product – Thermometer is only a few months old and all we get is POS on the screen. Tried batteries, holding it in different positions, even tried just holding it still in my hand which should read LO but no, we get POS. Ridiculous that, from the reviews, this is a low quality product at a high price. Can't find proof of purchase so Braun have zero interest. Will never buy this brand again. STAY AWAY

Faulty product, awful customer service - buy an OMRON – My 6030 began registered 40 plus temps with my 5 month which made me freak out so I took my own temp and it came back at 40. done. She said you can provide proof of purchase and they will assess it. I asked if I went out and purchased a replacement today (I have a sick baby) would they reimburse she stated no. After trying to search for proof of purchase while caring for a sick child I was only able to locate the full packaging. I have contacted BRaun again to ask about what they can do for me but they have not responded. I find it disappointing however not surprising given the other reviews on here that such an expensive piece of equipment which is very lightly used can “malfunction” rendering it useless in such a short space of time. I had to go out and buy a temporary under mouth thermometer last night and was chatting to the pharmacist assistant who was not at all surprised at my experience with Braun and their faulty product. She recommended the OMRON ear thermometer at only $59.95 as it came with extended 4 year warranty, had exceptional customer service , a superior product and is the brand hospitals choose to use.

Braun for a replacement & I have to wait for an answer. After 3 weeks since I did not hear from the warehouse I went back to see what was happening. Warehouse staff said Braun was doing a detailed investigation as to what had happened to the thermometer ( ha ha). I have not still heard from anyone with an update. Kids have recovered from flu & my old Omron thermometer did a good job till they recovered.

Looking at the below customer reviews , I will never touch a Braun product again, looks like overall quality of products and services are very low.

Reading is not accurate at all, change temperature every second! – After 2 weeks of purchase, when I use it on my baby (6 weeks old),it shows me 40+ degree. It freaks me out. This product is designed for infant and baby, but when it shows the ridiculous reading, it makes the situation worse to the parents and cause unnecessary anxiety to them.

Fantastic – Fantastic at letting me know when my family isn't well, very accurate and easy to use. Easy to clean and change batteries perfect for first time mum or grandparents. Easy to read and understand readings. Saves them so you can check them with a dr if needed. They are the same as dr uses

Incredibly inaccurate and terrible service from Braun – Since day one it has been a guessing game with the unit. But the worse bit was when this piece of junk completely stopped working. Blinking and beeping. Called Braun and they wouldn't help because I didn't keep the receipt. Nice way to weasel your way out of the warranty Braun. Please give this whole brand a miss.

other method where she wiggled and struggled the whole time. Can also be used if child is resting without disturbing them. We even took it to a Dr appt when she had a subsequent fever and after the Dr told us she was fine, we were able to show her with our thermometer that she wasn't. Dr realised her one wasn't working properly and she needed to change the disposable lens filter! So even the Dr was happy to rely on our reading (and so make sure you change the filter - it comes with 20). I may give these as baby shower gifts in future as I wish I'd had one all along. We shopped around and feel we got a good price.

Only lasted a few months! – My first thermometer stopped working a couple of months after I purchased it. The company and place of purchase were very helpful when it came to getting a replacement. However, my replacement thermometer stopped working this week when my son was sick. I'll be looking for a different brand this time. Very disappointing.

Not great – I thought I was doing the right thing purchasing this product, the reading isn't very accurate at all and it actually fluctuates more often than not. It gives us different readings +/- 1 deg within a couple of seconds of using it in the same ear. As a parent it's hard to trust a unit like this and for the price I expected much better.

Not very happy – I purchased the thermometer two days ago and I have found it is not accurate. It can give a dramatically different reading in the same ear second time round. I'm not very impressed I thought buying a more expensive thermometer would mean it would be accurate! I really need this thermometer to be accurate !

Great thermometer – I've had 3 thermometers, (through 3 years) a pharmacy brand, Tommee Tippee, and Homemedics. None were satisfactory. No more holding sick children who are shrugging out of your hold whilst you wait for that beep to hurry up. No more inaccurate readings. No more cheap feeling plastic.

I am firmly a Braun fan.
