Makes lovely coffee, but machine does not last! This was not a cheap machine to buy! My daughter purchased this machine as a present for me in August 2023 and it lasted until around February 2025 (1 1/2 yrs), before having to have it in for costly repairs (steam wand not working). The steam wand stopped working so it was put in to Coffee Complex in Adelaide to be assessed and repaired in June 2025, (delayed being fixed due to personal financial problems). December 2025 and the steam wand has again stopped working! I would not recommend taking the risk with this machine, try something else. Extremely dissapointed coffee lover :(
Follow-up · To this date I have had no outcome on the maintenance issue but was promised via email it would be brought to the attention of the right people.
Purchased in for $600.

Bought from Costco, not working after 1.5 years, far shorter then expected, no helps from customer service, just asking you to check the manual. still not solved? please go repair with your own cost, and that approved repair shop is very inconvenient, asking for another repair shop still given the same one, Or they also offered to buy a new one with 40% discount, anyway no faith on your product anymore, will not buy even discounted 40%. Moreover their price is much higher than the retail price, the 40% is absolutely ripoff.
Purchased in at Costco NSW, Casula for $599.99.

Good machine that failed too early – Purchased 4 years ago, the machine has functioned well with daily use. As with all machines with built in grinders, you need to keep an eye on the grind as the ambient conditions change. The coffee produced is absolutely dependent on how fine is the grind. This was our first machine that did not have a dual thermal block, meaning you need to wait one operation to complete before starting the next (milk froth before coffee production and vice versa).
After four years the boiler has failed (shorting the kitchen circuit when you hit the coffee buttons) and will cost us as much as the machine originally did to replace. Our last machine (not a Breville) lasted for over 10 years. I expect these appliances to last longer than 4 years without requiring a $600+ repair. We will likely replace the machine, and we won’t go with the same brand.

Great Coffee Maker – My daughter and I bought the stainless steel Breville Barista Express model BES875 about two months ago. We have found it easy to use, maintain and clean. It came with a jug, water filter and cleaning kit. Everything about this machine is top quality. It makes great coffee effortlessly if you like manual coffee machines this may be the one for you comes in Black and Stainless Steel. Do yourself a favour buy a Breville Bench Protector and knock box for disposing of the used grounds. We are extremely happy with this unit.
Purchased in at The Good Guys.
