Rubbish – Used 1 winter and one side worked ok the other would turn off after a while and flashed bright blue light. So if the cold didn’t wake me the blue light certainly did. Read so many bad reviews, should have read them before purchase! Will never buy Breville products again. Should have been a recall. Show details
'F' for fail – We've had this electric blanket for one winter and it was fine. Quick to heat, I could set my side to warm for a couple of hours and my wife likes her side to toast her all night. However, my side has stopped working. When I turn it on, the display shows 'F' and won't work at all. Now I am cold all night. One winter's worth for $250. If I got 2 or 3 years I'd be far less disappointed. Show details
Don’t buy this!! – I have purchased for our household, 5 of the blankets, all of which have broken within a very short time. What a waste of my hard earned money. All I can say about this product is that it should have been recalled. Very disappointing. Show details
Don't buy it – Pros: individual zone plus isolated zone temperature selection. If your legs get hot you can set the lower half of you body to a lower temperature while having the upper half to a higher degree. Can choose from 1-6 temperatures & it heats very quickly (toasty within 15mins). Cons: The electric connection cord and box sits close to the head and I… Read more
seem to find my face on it a bit. The cover sits badly under the bed sheet and gets lumps through it every morning. The e-blanket is quite uncomfortable and takes the softness away from the bed. It also seems to give off an electric charge which both me & my partner could feel when we touched our bed side lamps while on the bed with the blankets on.
It was not cheap and the main disappointment was the discomfort on the feeling on the bed.
Do not purchase this model – I purchased this blanket and turned it up to 6 on both zones to air the bed. It kept flashing the F letter on the first use even when I turned it off and checked all connections it still reverted to flashing F. I tried both manual and auto functions and it still turned off by itself with the F fault. I will be returning this as there obviously is… Read more
a problem with this model, very disappointing especially for my elderly mum who had come to stay. There was no reference in the instruction booklet to this fault, very frustrating.
The controller doesn't work after only having it for 2 weeks – The controller has already broken After owning the product for only 2 weeks. The cord is chunky and I'm very disappointed. I'm taking it back and buying the sunbeam What is the compensation for the inconvenience? Show details
Keeps turning itself off – The first day it wouldn't warm up at all. The second day it switched itself off every few minutes and flashed "F". Manual is no help. I see other reviewers have the same problem. Show details
Poor quality control and poor customer service – Another disgruntled Breville customer. The controller flashes "F" and the blanket goes cold, on contacting customer service I was advised to seek a replacement unit from the retailer. The replacement unit has exactly the same problem and Breville refuse to respond to my emails and explain why their product does not work. Show details
Do not buy, should be recalled, body zone quilted – "F" symbols came up soon after start up. This means fault detected. Support says to recheck connections to the blanket but still the same. On another attempt after reconnecting ,my wife's side sort of had buzzing sensation I could feel on her legs, like stray current. By this time we packed up three blankets (one for my son and one for my daughter… Read more
and ours) took it straight back to David Jones and told about the problems.
Product should be RECALLED !!
We have invested in Linen House from Harvey Norman so far so good.
Faulty - terrible – Faulty! I too keep getting a F on the controller. Very disapointed. The cords are def plugged it in correctly i will be taking this back and going to another brand Show details
Frustrating – Same as other reviewers. Bought one from Myer. Flashing F problem. Contacted Breville. Told to re-plug, etc. Didn't make any difference. Got a replacement from Myer. Same problem. Will be taking the second one back for a refund. Not good.
Hi Casey - if the advice from customer service and the… Read more
Bad purchase. It's going back – Same problem. The flashing "F" must be a feature kept secret by Breville as there is no mention of it anywhere in the manual. Not happy with this product and will be seeking a refund today.
No this was a bad buy and am returning it – I bought a Breville body zone electric blanket and am not happy with it the controller keeps flashing F there is nothing in the instruction book to tell me what this means i will be returning it

Know better, choose better.
Faulty Controllers – Purchased the Body Zone Queen bed electric blanket 4 weeks ago. The controller, whether on Auto or Manual would turn off long before the time set had been reached. It would then flash a very bright blue light endlessly until the switch was moved to off. Contacted Breville who had no idea and told me to take it back to retailer. Returned to… Read more
retailer who replaced it. The replacement does exactly the same thing, after a short time displaying an F on the timer display.
How many faulty products can Breville make? Pretty scary lying on an electric device when 2 out of 2 are faulty.
What a waste – Stupid thing turns itself off after having it on for 15 minutes despite timer being on in both auto and manual settings, there is no troubleshooting in the manual to help you - extremely frustrating

Controler of my eléctric blanket never worked – Bought a breville electric blanket to take overseas ,the controller never worked .all i wanted was to purchase a new controller as i had misplace the purchase receipt an couldn't make a claim!!! tough luck, breville doesn't sell spare controllers. Never again will i purchase anything from breville.
It's been a week and the blanket hasn't heated the bed yet – Very disappointed with our Breville Bodyzone. Who cares about antibacterial when the blanket doesn't heat? We turn it on and it starts to heat up and then between 5-10 minutes later the blanket turns itself off and flashes. (Despite being programmed for four hours). Not happy Jan. It was a lot of money for a product that doesn't work. Booklet offers no trouble shooting or advice. Mary Ashton
Dissappointed – This product has some amazing features. I really like the fact the heat settings for your upper and lower body are separate controls. It heats up very quickly and I really like the timing options and the inbuilt clock and light. I am very disappointed that the detachable controllers constantly stop working and are extremely difficult to get… Read more
replacements even under the warranty. You call the Breville number provided, it goes to an answering service and you never get a response.
Best electric blanket I have owned – Have had this blanket for nearly 5 years and nothing has gone wrong with it. A big improvement on the several Sunbeam electric blankets I owned previously one of which was VERY expensive. All stopped working within a few months. Getting back to the Breville Body Zone: The good: Very reliable. Has not missed a beat in almost 5 years. … Read more
Turns itself off after 12 hours (a very good safety feature)
Warms the bed beautifully
Comfortable - cannot feel the wires due to the thick quilted cover (which is detachable and washable)
Controls detachable and blanket washable
The piece of plastic where the control lead attaches to the blanket is half way down the bed instead of being under your pillow or beside your pillow as it usually is with most electric blankets. I like this as I tend to put all my weight on that spot beside the pillow when I am getting in or out of bed or propping myself up to read in bed and I expect doing this repeatedly could cause the electrical wires to break eventually. You don't have to worry about this with the Breville Body Zone. (This feature does have its downsides though - see below)
The not so good:
The controls are about half way down the bed and can be a little difficult to find/reach in the middle of the night
Setting the temperature is fiddly as you have to set the top half of the bed and then the bottom half of the bed and you have to press the button numerous times for each half. eg if you want a setting of 8 for top and bottom you have to press the Heat button, then press the button 8 times to set the top half of the bed at temp 8. You then have to repeat this process for the bottom half of the bed. I find this a nuisance.
It is not easy to set the blanket to turn off after a certain time period. You have to set the clock and then choose a time for the blanket to turn off. If you unplug the blanket the clock setting is lost and you have to reset the clock again. Would be much more user friendly if you could just choose a period of time after which the blanket turns off. eg one hour
Overall I am happy with the electric blanket and would recommend it.
Would not buy again, uncomfortable – I have only given this 2 stars. 1 for the timer function which I like and the other for the boost button. The rest of the blanket is incredibly uncomfortable. It came In two size options- a king size or a D/Q size. This means that if you have a queen size bed the heated portion of the blanket does NOT go all the way to the edges of the mattress, … Read more
The problem is that the removable overlay has these huge press studs all the way around so you now have these hard lumps on top of your mattress rather than on the sides. Removing the overlay does not help. Another issue another reviewer also mentioned is the where the power cable meets the blanket. This hard plastic raised lump is right at knee height on the top of the mattress so if you are a side sleeper you will constantly be hitting your knee.
This was not a cheap blanket so disappointed that Breville didn't put some more thought into the design.
I would not buy again but if you must go up a size. This may solve the problem.
KNEE KNOCKING KNIGHTS – Breville Fitted Electric Blanket BZB510MY The plastic boxes where the controller's fit are raised and we are continually hitting our knees on them as they are only covered by a thin sheet. We have placed folded towels over them so we can sleep. SHOULD HAVE BEEN TESTED OR A NOTE SAYING THAT A THICK PROTECTOR NEED TO BE PLACED OVER THE BOXES.
So far so good – I have only used this electric blanket for one night and so far I am very happy. I love that the controller has big enough numbers so I can see what's going on without my glasses. And a handy side benefit is that it works like a bed side clock so I can see the time in the night and I was thinking of buying one, no need now. The multi zone… Read more · 1
heating is fantastic especially because I get cold feet.
It's very comfortable, I can't feel any electrical cords even without the mattress protector on (the manual says not to use it with one, I think, it wasn't very clear). Fits easily onto our cushion topped mattress with room to move.
I also can't believe it's washable!
Electric blankets have come a long way since I last had one.
This says RRP is $189 but it was $219 at Myer and we got it for $150 on sale. Worth every penny.
