Works great but no alternative to the poisonous non-stick bowl – The actual cooker works great however there is no alternative option for a stainless steel bowl which means the non-stick leaches into our food. Have called them however they only have non-stick bowls. Show details

Totally Awe Inspiring – About 4 years ago I acquired a Breville BPR200 Fast Slow Cooker. I say "acquired" as it was as a result of using "Reward Points" accrued on my Altitude Platinum Mastercard, which I rarely use. Why wait for 4 years? When I got it home and had a read and saw the words "pressure cooker" I freaked out and as my health was in a pretty dire state, I… Read more

decided it was all too much, so I put the Cooker in the Pantry and just wiped it over for the past 4 years. Until yesterday, 23.7.2022, when I thought that I would have a look at the Recipe Books and I spotted Pea and Ham Soup which I used to make many years ago in a Stock Pot so, although my health is even worse now, I thought why did I feel so threatened by the idea of using a Pressure Cooker when I can repair my own Computer without any training so, I followed the recipe and 40 minutes later after rather tentatively releasing the pressure valve, (totally freaking out the Cat in the process), I served up absolutely beautiful tasting Pea and Ham Soup with some lovely fresh Buns. As I had never used a Pressure Cooker before, I was a bit thrown initially, because the "timer" wasn't changing for the cooking process, but after checking that I had to let the Cooker "build up the necessary pressure" (which didn't take long at all), I was happy to see the "timer" ticking over. I'm so impressed that over the next week, I'm looking at cooking a Roast Chicken which will take about 15-18 minutes, maybe Spaghetti with Quick Bolognaise Sauce which will take 35 minutes, so I will certainly be using it as much as possible. Although the preparation work was hard on my health, the fact that most of the Recipes are for 6-8 serves, means that I can freeze what I don't need for a time when I'm unable to cook. The Cooker was super easy to clean, didn't retain any cooking smells, all the features/controls were really easy and I was utterly gobsmacked by how the food turned out. Not having used one before I cannot compare it to others but every part of using it was excellent. Knowing my Model Cooker is already at least 4 years old and no longer in stock, when/if it breaks down, I will most certainly be replacing it with another exactly the same as I see other Models are easily available.

Such an easy way to cook! – We bought this machine several years ago and we still use it every week! I wasn't sure at first if it was worth buying an appliance offering both pressure cooker/slow cooker options together. I am so glad I did! Love how easy it is to use it. At first, we were not familiar with pressure cookers but the instructions manual included gave us… Read more

great tips on how to work out volume of food vs volume of liquid and the level of pressure/time required, so perfect for newbies!

The capacity of the container is great and we can easily cook 4 lamb shanks or make enough curry for many meals during the week. The warm up option is great if you won't make it home on time for your meal...it will stay on for about 20 min (if my memory is right). I love the "sauteed" option, which means you can start your entire meal in one container. Sometime, I still prefer to brown my meat in a separate pan though, just because its a bit deep.

It takes about 20 min to built the pressure and its easy to release it once your meal is ready, but it does make a bit of a steam show!!! Its also easy to remove the seal inside the lid for cleaning, there's even a little arrow to remind you which side goes up...in case you take it off without checking first....not that I do that kind of thing....lol!

The electric cord has a great length and its easy to reach any power point on the bench. I love the non stick container, it makes it so easy to clean.

Overall, It's a great machine, great value for money,we use it weekly and It's still going strong after many years. You can't go wrong with Breville!!

A lot of functions and options – I purchased this item a few months ago. I must say, I haven't used it to its full potential yet (and not very often), but so far so good. I love the occasional slow cooked meals, but I work long hours and cannot go home over lunch to power up my slow cooker to make dinner. With this pressure cooker, I am very happy I get the same results as a slow… Read more

cooker... but in less than half an hour! The product also sautees and browns your ingredients prior to pressure cooking, all in the same pan. I had never owned a pressure cooker before and it is easy enough to operate by reading the guide beforehand (not much to read and easy to understand). I have made a few stews and also used it as a rice cooker and got perfect rice in 7 minutes! Meat always comes out very tender and flavoursome. Easy to clean. The only thing I was not too fond of, was the slow cooker option. There are only 2 settings for slow cooking, 6 or 8 hours. I used the 6 hour setting, but for some reason the meat came out a bit dry, as if it was overcooked somehow? There was plenty of stock and other ingredients in the pot and I have cooked the same stew before (not using this product though). I wish you could choose your own time setting when slow cooking, but can only be done when pressure cooking. I guess you could stop the slow cooking process earlier by turning it off. This was not a huge issue for me as I rather use the pressure cooking setting, but was worth bringing it up. I'd definitely recommend this product, especially to busy and working families!

So hard to make work. I'm buying another brand – It cooks fine but getting it to cook in the first place heavily negates the time savings or any joy. I’ll preface this with I clean impeccably, no functional problems or mis-use. 1. The valve for the top locking mechanism is a massive issue. I always have a tool to lift it up so it can function. Pressure almost 100% escapes here & without manual… Read more

intervention the cooker never starts.

2. The “wobble/jiggler” pressure control, the main one used for cooking. After I get the other pressure switch functioning I have trouble with this one. The “cook” position often just vents pressure so I have to move it to the fully closed position.. I wait for an audible click for the pressure switch (hi-med-low) in the handle to click in. Then fiddle with the jiggler thing so I know it is letting pressure release to protect my sanity and family.

Summary … This is NOT a set and forget item, it requires vast amounts of time to function properly. Cooking is not supposed to be a chore & I cry every time I bring this out and renew my battle. I’m going to find another brand using my lessons learned on this device. For the last year I believe I have given it a good go and understand all its design peculiarities.

time saver. walk away and ignore – I wanted a pressure cooker to cook my soup faster. I was sick of constantly turning on and off my stove for a whole day. I found with this I just have to turn on the pressure cooking function for 1 hour. walk away. come back in 2 to 3 hours time to find my soup still burning hot (80 degrees even when plug was pulled 5 hours ago) and all the… Read more

ingriedients has broken down.

I use it to cook a chinese chicken soup. chicken came out as extremely tender and has absorb the taste of the herbs without drying.

I even use this to cook curry chicken. I put in all my ingriedients, turn it on, set it to 1 hour and walk away. (1 hour was probably too much. all the meat slide off the bone and I was eating a thick goo. the potato was mashed). no need to worry about turning off stove. no need to worry about cleaning spillage. no need to feel pressure wheb u put the pressure in the cooker. you just walk away and forget.

For those that has never use a pressure cooker before this can be dangerous. but I have not been injured because I did my research and even found a youtube video by breville on the use of this cooker.

just keep in mind that the lid will not open if pressure has not release (it took about 2 hours for pressure to slowly release when I was cooking soup on high pressure for 1 hour).

always push the "release stem" button using a chopstick or long wooden spoon. just make sure no part of your body part is under both of the steam vents. only open lid if no steam is release when you push steam release button.

Also make sure seal is place in correctly. if steam escapes around edge of lid than you know you did it wrong. wait till steam is release before opening lid.

cleaning is simple (watch youtube video by breville). I just soak my lid in hot soapy water. use a tooth brush to clean hard to reach spots. rice and leave to dry.

Does the job but a man who doesn't clean must have designed this – I bought this a while ago and have found it to be very good - pressure cooks well, a great function to fry the items in the bowl before the rest of the process you choose. Frying in the non stick bowl is fast and the non stick quality is excellent so take care of it with NOT using anything metal as to replace it is a good 70 dollars. The bowl… Read more

comes out easily and is a dream to clean.

However the lip around the bowl (ie next to where is sits) is very very hard to clean, I've had to use get this... baby wipes with a toothbrush handle to clean the impossible to get to lip. Food and stock will spill into it.. so good luck in cleaning it.

Once you get the hang of how the control panel works, it's easy to use.

Would I buy another one? No. With all the others out on the market now, I'd probably come across a better one. But this one for the time is good doogs.

Use it nearly everyday fantastic – Food tastes great, can use cheaper cuts of meat..so tender . Multifunction so easy to use . If only the timer counted down ..would be better but despite that so easy to use ,clean and store. The slow cook feature is good and it has a large Capacity. Great for quick no fuss risotto.  Show details

Absolutely Love It – I have never used a pressure cooker in my life but I needed an oven so I thought I would buy one and cross my fingers. After following the instructions (bit confusing) but I did have a couple of wines… Read more

beforehand. It came out with so much flavour and tender I was sold immediately. Next night I gave it a go with a whole chook and using the recipe in the book that came with it. It came out as good as the webber chicken we usually do but in a fraction of the time. I really do love it. Once I get used to what Im doing it will be even better. Shouldn't take too long to get the hang of it. Thank you Breville!

Takes ages to build pressure (faulty apparently) – My error ... I should have returned it after its first use. I rarely used it because it did not operate as I thought it would have. I certainly would not have left it unattended. Despite having an extended… Read more

warranty, I put off asking the question about its operation and now the warranty has expired. Just the other day, I used it again. As usual, it took ages to build up pressure ... 40 minutes in fact. During this time it belched out steam, leaving minimal liquid in the bowl. After talking with a Breville Customer Service person (Aiden), I have just learnt that this is definitely not normal. As it is no longer under warranty, I will have to purchase a new pressure cooker, but obviously not a Breville after this experience.

Brilliant but lacking an alternate bowl to the carcinogenic dangerous non stick – I own this, bought on outstanding choice review, it’s still in the cardboard shipping box. stainless steel pot for those who choose to buy. Please, please, do this breville. I have bought an instant pot from USA, 110 volts, plus a very expensive drop down power converter, bought the mini, hoping you at breville will meet your competitor. Hoping I get to use the 350$ breville fast slow pro. Instant pot is now bringing themselves into Aus market after I bought mine, 230 V from amazon, They will overcome and dominate the Aus market, please act Breville, please. Just a nice stainless steel pot without the carcinogenic lining to buy as an option.

cannot steam or pressure cook so have to load it as if you are pressurising and then place on Sear.

Possibly dangerous but who would know as not covered in manual.

12 month warranty is a joke....if you are in NZ take Breville to the Disputes Tribunal as the expected life sould be 10-15 years for a pressure cooker. .

handle of the lid is a small plastic toggle that opperates the pressure to heating. made of basically cellotape!! I phoned Breville to see if i could buy a new one. No way....and you should never open up our appliances! I could however purchase a new lid for 85% of my original cooker price!

So "Grace" from service, if you are reading this... I will never purchase Breville again. Designed to fail.

What can’t this machine do?! – We bought this machine on recommendation to a slow cooker. And aren’t we glad we did. We use this machine at least 5-6 times a week. As you can brown the meat and then add sauce to pressure cook, I use this to cook dinner while I head out to pick up the kids. Cooks rice in no time at all. Makes the best risotto! We’ve slow cooked lamb overnight to get a 12hr cooking time. It’s wonderful. So much so, my whole family now own one!  Show details

Excellent slow cooker – Having own many slow cookers over the years I wanted to try pressure cooking. Obviously all my talk worked and i got one as present. Excellent cooker and I love that i can saute the meats first in the unit without having to use a separate pan.
