Breville The Gourmet Baker BBM400 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: 35902754If my bread isn't cooked when it's finished how do I cook it longer
I prefer to remove the paddle, but I'm never close enough to hear the signal. Is there a chart which shows the timing for standard (not custom) cycles? The Cuisinart I used previously provided that information.
Hi there is there a way to unassemble the fruit and nut dispenser to clean it? I got some slightly wet ingredients into it and it’s gone into the side casing?
Can I increase baking time?
Hi, we were given this bread maker and the bread is lovely but the top is very pale... even on the dark crust setting? Can someone please help?
I have been using the Breville Gourmet Baker since it came out and fortunately unlike some of the other customers have had no problems at all with it. My questions is that there is no recipe for bread dough only, allowing the baking process to be made in an oven. Can the bread roll minus the eggs be used?
Customization of any recipe is based on the desired result. If the recipe you are interested in is one that you have tried previously and the results, without the eggs, are good then yes, using the Knead & Rise function will set the dough up as desired.
my bbm400 breville breadmaker control screen does not display anything...all i get is a beep...is there a reset button???
Does this machine bake pasties like pies sausage rolls and pasties plz ?
Can you bake pies sausage rolls ,pasties in this machine plz ?
Can you make gluten free bread in this.?
Yes, use the gluten free setting.
What is the difference in the basic program and the sweet program other than the different time taken?
MY breville gourmet baker is making clicking noises while it is mixing the dough. It sounds like something is slipping in the mixing process. It is sitting firmly diwn in the machine. Why is it making this noise?
I have just got the same issue with mine. It appears some sort of mechanical clutch that kicks in if the paddle is jammed has worn out. I can't remove the base as I don't have a security screw removal tool and 4 of the 11 screws on the base cover are security screws. I tried to gain access from the top but the screw holding in the heating element has failed and its heads centre tore out before it would unscrew. I can't find any help online as yet.
I bought the BBM400 the other day, and have now made 3 basic loaves of bread. About half an hour into the cycle the machine always beeps for a while and then stops, and the cycle carries on as usual. What is this, and is it normal?
It might just be signalling that it would be time to add in nuts/ seeds etc if you were using them. Take a look in the manual, if you have it, under a recipe with nuts or similar and see if it refers to a reminder beeping signal.
Yes, it’s the add seeds/nuts beep.
My dough was too runny and overflowed. I only saw after it was done. I think some may have gone inside the rotating part. What do i do?!??!?!?
Wow, it's never happened to any of my mixes. I'd very carefully clean out the mixer, and try again. This time I'd be weighing everything. I've been making bread in bread makers for years, and I still weigh the water and bread flour. My mix is 350g water, 2tablespoons of EVOOil, 2tablespoons of milk powder, 500g bread flour, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of yeast. Set it on 750g loaf and med crust. The time it takes to make the loaf is 3hrs 23 mins. I set my alarm on my iPad to go off at 1 hour 35 mins, which is just after the last knock down, and before the last rise and bake, at that time I take out the beater, put the pan back in and let it do the final rise and cook. Lovely loaf with only a very small hole in the bottom. The secret is, find a mix that you like and stick with it. I make a loaf every day, it's never overflowed. My guess is, you've got the flour and water round the wrong way. However, carefully clean your breadmaker out and try again, as long as the seal is in place it should be fine.
I was wondering if it is possible to bake packet cake mixes in the Gourmet Bread Baker?
The cake tins are only about half the size of regular ones, so you could split it into smaller ones & make 2
