not just the plastic part (which screws off, so would be very easy to replace). She actually told me that the base no longer comes off, but that turned out not to be true. Rather than sending the whole thing to landfill, I spent the money and bought the replacement jug, which was charged to my credit card... only to be followed a few days later by an additional charge for $1 - which is an unauthorised credit card transaction, probably employee fraud, but they know that most people won't bother waiting on the phone for a refund of $1. Not good after sales service at all.

Good product – Is a reliable blender that is able to make solid food blend easily. It is a bit noisy and has a light smell of burn when you use it. It is very easy to use and very simple. The end result of the smoothies and juices are very good. I am satisfied  Show details

Breville Blender Is Good – Don't use a blender all that much, I more bought this to complete the set of appliances in my kitchen. The times I do use it, it does exactly what I need and I am happy with it. I mostly use it for soup and making granitas in summer. Looks good and easy to clean. Great Blender That Does All I need – This blender is a solid performer in our kitchen. It does every job I need without fuss. The only fault I can think of is it's a little bit noisy on pulse setting but no big deal to me.I doesn't leak and I am happy with the reach of the blades. Breville (probably like many companies) should have a recycle program when the expectation is that their product won't last more than 4 years (which I was also told by a customer representative.

Standard blender – The Breville power bullet does the job, it doesn't have too much power to break up frozen berries to make a breakie smoothie. if you are after something with more power then i would suggest the Nutribullet.  Show details

Good for spice mixes and marinades – Brought this product mainly for use in making marinades and spice mixes, for this it works very well. However we rarely use it for any heavy duty usage. So I cannot comment on other usage.  Show details

Standard blender, nothing special – Nothing special about this blender. It does the job and it’s great at blending ice. It is quite hard to clean. After a few uses there are pips stuck at the bottom, and my hand is too small to reach. Would be nice to be able to dissasemble the blade from the jug to wash seperately.  Show details

A good buy – I have had the breville power bullet for a year now and have had no issues. I got it for a good price, well rounded average blender that does the job. Does the job – I use this blender at least once a week with smoothies or sauces. I have had it a while now and it has not broken yet. It has a slight plastic smell if put on a high setting for a while. It is reliable and i recomend the brand and would buy another one in the future. Ideal for little jobs – It is perfect for blending. It is perfect for handling solids such as ice etc and liquids as making smoothies from berries and kale etc. My blender is good solid glass but I don't like when I cannot open the base and clean the jug properly. So it can remain unhygienic if not cleaned properly. It's easy to store in my cupboard but noisy as all blenders are. Bit heavy to handle.  Show details

Good all-round blender – The breville power blender does a decent job of blending anything we've thrown at it, and consistency has been consistent. My only complaint is that it can be a bit top heavy, and the mechanism between the jug and the motor gear can be dislodged quite easily. Not the best – The blending ability is average - it can blend things such as icecream, soft fruits but struggles with anything harder such as ice or frozen berries. The consistency could be better as it does not make it as smooth as I would like. I would say that its well build but maybe lacks blending power. Starts off well but – Bought this blender 3 or 4 years ago and was initially delighted with it. However, Within 12 months it started to leak from base. The first couple of times I assumed I had not assembled correctly after cleaning. Anyway it kept happening and just became too much bother to use. Good for about 100 uses – Our's lasted about 4 years with very light use. Blended fairly well while it was working. It has been smelling of burning rubber for a while and today it breathed it's last. Next time, I shall pay more for something decent!  Show details

Glass jug is not stable enough – The performance of this blender is excellent. However, the glass jug, removed from the blender motor is very unstable. happened if there was a child in the vicinity. The glass spread 4m throughout the kitchen and dining room. My replacement blender will have a plastic jug, and be stable when detached from the motor.

Leaking jug – Our jug is starting to leak from the bottom of the base. I use our blender mainly to do banana/ ice/ milk, shakes. 6-8 ice cubes max and stop the blender after approx. 60 sec. down and lift the grey base and replace the rubber seal. He is a bit wrong here.

1. tip the jug upside down.

2. the base of the jug is mid grey in colour.

3. inside this is a white plastic part.This part slots into the machine part of the blender.

4. find a piece of metal that is as wide as this white plastic and place it in the slots and turn it anti clockwise

5. this will release the cutting blade section and you can pull it out.

6 clean, replace the seal and wash all other parts - ours has black stuff stuck to many parts.

This is the stage I'm at now. I will reassemble it after washing and clean everything and see if it works.

If it doesn't fix the problem I will contact Breville and see if the seal needs replacing.

Breville I think you could have put these simple instructions up on this website in reply to the many complaints here.
