terrible machine, the hot temperatures are 15 to 20 degrees less than listed. Now after 18 months the black paint is peeling from the steam, not healthy to realise I must have been consuming flaked bits of paint not realising! Show details

This is the second machine in 12 months that wont descale after following the instructions on the jug. Have to keep playing with the settings to get the right setting due to not being able to descale. More hassle than its worth and for the price there should be better ways to descale. Show details

Just paid $249 for this thing and after 90mins of frustration, managed to make 1 luke warm cup of tea and the frustration started all over again. Followed all set up instructions, turned on the machine and 'Fill tank' message appeared. Already full, so turned the mains off for 5min to reset it as per the instructions. Turned it back on, all good.… Read more

Placed cup under water outlet, set it to HOT 90deg and 250ml and pressed the start button. It filled the cup with cold water, turned off and the 'fill tank' message appeared again. Turned off the mains again for 5min, turned back on, all good. Tried again, filled the cup with warm water, nowhere near hot and the 'filled tank' message appeared again. Repeated this a dozen times, same result. Can't make 2 consecutive cups of coffee. It clearly has an issue, having to keep turning off the power and taking the tank off between every cup is ridiculous! I would NOT recommend this particular item personally, although some people seem to have had better luck with it. Anyway, we're taking it back tomorrow for a refund.

I loved the actual product, while it worked. Issues with entering descale mode due to incorrect instructions provided Within a year it decided it will not descale. Contacted customer service, even with instructions will not descale, warned that sending product to service will lead to me being billed if there is nothing wrong with it. How can I be expected to care for a product they can't even provide the correct instructions for?! Show details

Rubbish dont buy, lasted just over a year. E04 error – When I first bought it, it would sometimes show an E04 error, which it was hard to reproduce so I didn't bother wasting my time going to the repair centre and wait for it to play up. Stopped using it for a 6 months now it constantly shows E04 error when trying to dispense hot water. Out of warranty and now its a $200 room temperature water dispenser. Rubbish dont buy. Show details

So frustrating !! – I think I got a dud machine. Never gets the amount of water right. If I put in 250 I get 300 sometimes. If I put in 225 ml I get 250 most of the time but normally it is completely erratic. Very frustrating. Also the Desale mode flashes and will not go away, every 6 weeks instead of 6 months as stated in the instructions. So be aware of these… Read more

problems with this model. I have sent a request for service but never heard anything back. So I have now replaced the unit for another brand that works. Don’t waste your money.

Love it – This machine is so much quieter than our old "other brand" one. Loving the ability to make my green tea at the right temperature, as well as putting in the actual amount of water that I need for my cup. Still learning but it is definately a winner. Show details

It's very noisy, and the hot water isn't hot enough – I had high hopes for this water dispenser but have been very disappointed. Firstly, it is SO loud! Granted it isn't on for long, but it's a very grating and loud noise while it is working. Secondly, at 100 degrees, the water is hot but nowhere near as hot as you get from a boiling jug. I have to drink my tea immediately or it's cold. And thirdly,… Read more

it feels like I am constantly refilling it. It takes no time at all to get through the amount of water the tank can hold. On the plus side, I do like how quickly you get hot water and the fact I can get exactly 250ml, but overall I was better off with the old filter jug and the kettle.

Day 1 and I Absolutely Love It – Breville is one of my favourite brands so when I was searching online for a new kettle this week I was happy that this Aquastation Purifier Hot compared favourably to the other instant hot water kettles I was looking at. I chose the Breville (LWA200BSS2IAN1) model because it has a 3L water tank and, being that there are five tea drinkers at home,… Read more ·  3

anything smaller would have required constant refilling. I purchased it online two days ago from Appliancesonline and it arrived today. Unboxing it I found the machine, the cord, a filter, a warranty card, and the instruction booklet. There are steps to follow in the booklet to set it up properly but in the event that you can't find the booklet they are also printed onto the water tank . You can drink the water straight from the machine at room temperature (ambiant) as just a glass of filtered water or fill bottles to take away. If you are making a hot drink you get to choose which temperature and which volume best suits the cup size and drink you are making. The minimum temperature is 45C (good for baby formula) and the maximum is 100C (great for black tea). You can choose a range of temperatures to suit herbal, green, and Oolong teas too. The volume can be raised or lowered in 25ml increments from a minimum of 100ml and there is a custom function that will allow up to 1200mls (good for thermos filling). The best part about the Aquastation Purifier Hot is that it's only heating the amount of water you have selected for your drink and not the entire tank of water as a kettle would. For a mug of black tea (100C, 250ml) it takes about a second before the water begins to flow and it is completed in about 38 seconds - no more having to reboil a kettle because you've walked away and forgotten it. The Aquastation Purifier Hot uses a specific Activ360 filter plug to remove metals, pesticides, particles, chlorine and limescale. It most definitely will change the taste of your tea for the better particularly if your current drinking water has any of these extra 'flavourings'. I can legitimately taste a purer and sweeter flavour in the tea made with this filtered water. The only CON I have found with the Aquastation Purifier Hot is the Activ360 filter. It is expensive and it is recommended you change it every 90 days or every 200L of water usage. The major department stores sell them for $49 a pair and the cheapest I found them online was $46. I have the Breville Barista Express coffee machine and the filters for that run at around $2 each. Even if we managed to get the full 3mths out of an Activ360 filter, that equates to near $100 a year but much more for more frequent users like my family or for people who live in a hard water area. In my opinion while the filter does indeed make it a far better cup of tea (and I'm guessing also prolongs the life of the machine), you will need to decide if the ongoing costs are worth it for you. At this stage I do recommend this product but due to the cost of the filters I have marked it down a point. I like it because It makes an instant and individual hot cup of tea or coffee without boiling an entire jug's worth of water.
