Breville had the chance to produce a first class frother.. and they almost pulled it off... almost. However, with the finish line in sight they stumbled. At first glance it's a great size. Compared to most other milk frothers it holds a considerable amount, and isn't lined with those toxic non stick surfaces. Very simple to use. One button. Push… Read more
it once, twice, three times... depending on what you're looking to achieve. For a few months the appliance pulled its weight well...then it began making an ungodly amount of noise while in operation. We returned it... we were given a new one. It operated perfectly. Three months in, being used maybe 5x a week, it too began the transition to "noisy" with the identical issue. We spoke to the outlet who had sold it to us. They informed us they would no longer be stocking it due to the high rate of returns. "Would you like a store credit, or a different appliance?" ...they asked. "Will it continue to make this noise? Get worse? Explode"?... we enquired. "Unsure" they said.. We kept it...a large volume of milk...stainless receptacle. It's now almost been a year... the noise hasn't increased...the frother it still working.. For the price, we hoped for much better manufacturing....however, as I said, it's still operating fine. But that noise.....!
I purchased the milk frother, it is a dissapointment, after a couple of months it is noisy and very inconsistence sometimes it froths or not, even when it froths it is not great. No I would not recommend this product. Show details
Smooth, Quiet, and Simple: Breville Choc & Chino Frother – I picked up the Breville Choc & Chino milk frother a couple of days ago and I have to say that I am very pleased with the purchase. The setup is easy, and the warmer is very simple to use and clean (dishwasher safe!). It is super quiet when functioning, especially compared to some of the earlier Nespresso warmers. I think the only downside is that… Read more
the foamy milk isn’t quite as good as the microfoam developed when steaming milk. It does pour out in a large clump rather than a silky stream. Apart from that, I’d happily recommend it.
Great for hot and cold drinks – I love the option of hot/ice mochas at home. I actually make the whole drink in it and it turns out creamy and frothy everytime. I make the drink while getting ready for work or doing housework and wait for it to beep and signal it's ready. Show details
Brilliant little machine – I’m actually quite impressed with this little machine. I bought it to use at work and love it. It makes the best hot chocolate and coffees. Another brilliant feature I love, is I just have to rinse it clean under running water. Show details
So far not too bad. Still alive & working. Overheats the milk, so I switch it to cold frothing when I can remember – ORIGINAL REVIEW (SEE update below): Love the design, looks modern & sexy. Capacity 700ml, some comments say it's only 600ml but it's a great size. Does 1-4 cups if required. Love the cup being fully contained, without mechanics/electronics so very safe to wash fully immersed in the sink/water. I don't like very hot drinks. It seemed to heat… Read more
nicely for 1st 6mths then heats way too hot for my liking. I always switch to cold setting after milk is nearly hot but now it keeps heating to very hot on the cold setting, why?
It started making some rattling sound & smelt of burning plastic/electrics at the 13mth mark, of course, 12mths warranty. I did accidentally pull the cup out of the holder a few times, at first, before it stopped spinning. That shouldn't been a problem. This went away later & now no problems.
I do really love this thing & want it to work. I have used it probably 3-4 times per day, so it gets a good work out. I've even taken it overseas with me, it's essential in the USA, the coffee there is crap.
I use it in conjunction with one of those small handheld high-speed frothers as sometimes it doesn't froth enough, is a bit slow to froth, the existing leftover milk has cooled.
I bought another as a spare for the office.
Amazing foam from this frother – Bought this a month or so ago as our Nespresso one that came with our machine was terrible. Can say without a doubt this was worth the $100 or so I paid for it. As someone who loves a lot of froth, this makes a great amount of froth. It is also amazing for hot chocolates on these cold winter nights, as it froths, mixes and heats the chocolate powder and milk. I am also a barista so it takes a bit to impress me, and this certainly does! Show details
Save your money – I brought this as i needed a large milk frother to make 2 big mugs of coffee at a time. This despite saying its 700 mls cannot heat 700mls the jug may be that large over all but you can only half fill it and if you actually fill it to the top "max" line while heating it sounds terrible like it's going to blow up. I've had mine for a week now and… Read more
i'm going to return it as its just no good. The milk isn't even very hot once its done . Especially for the price i expected much better.
Buyer beware – This frother has been trouble from day one. Purchased at Good guys Bunbury in Oct 2021, it started melting tiny amounts of plastic onto the heating plate. This morning, after only 6 months, and only using it once a day, it stopped heating altogether. Definitely will not exchange it for another one. Show details
Handle broke right after 12 month warranty ran out – One month after the warranty ran out the handle broke off, had to super glue it back on even then it fell off. I wouldn’t recommend this model at all. Show details
Terrible – It over froths the milk so then you’re beverage is just froth and tastes like milk. I only fill it to the minimum line. With the arrangement that is for only warming milk it works fine but no Froth. They need someone to fix this so it gets the milk right. The size is good but it’s just a shame it doesn’t really work the way you need it to.… Read more
Unless you like a cup or froth. There seems to be no way around this issue as it won’t heat the milk up enough if you stop it early. Wasted money.
Fire hazard – It does froth well and makes very nice hot chocolate, but I bought this and exchanged it a week later after the plastic sides melted onto the hotplate. A week later the same thing happened to the replacement, so I returned it for a refund. Given that they both came from the same store at around the same time I probably just got two from a dodgy batch, but I'm not giving it a 3rd try at burning my kitchen down. Show details
Plastic base melted like every other review – I had read some reviews on other sites saying that their plastic base melted. But I thought I’d give this a go, however the same happened to mine after 1 day. We frothed 250ml of milk as the manual suggests. On the 6th use in the day we started to smell burning plastic and saw that it had melted right near the heating element. This has to be a… Read more
well known design flaw.
Apart from that it worked well. We only wanted it for instant coffee and frothed milk, and it did that perfectly. Shame about the melting.
We returned it for a refund and went with the Breville BMF600 which has worked flawlessly for the last week.
