It makes great dips, smoothies and breadcrumbs etc. It has a small footprint and only a few parts making it compact and easy to clean. Just rinse, then put in a little warm water and detergent and put on auto wash cycle. This is a beautifully designed blender/chopper in one simple appliance. It's so versatile I'm using it every day. For a refreshing Summer drink try washing seedless grapes, removing the stalk and putting them in a plastic tub in the freezer. Then take a handful of frozen grapes, add them to the blender with some water and hit 'liquify' for 30 seconds!

Seems like all our Breville appliances are failing – Bought a Breville Blender from a Home Show where Harvey Norman had a stand. Blender probably used 15 or so times making slushies, pizza oven has probably cooked 30 or so pizzas.

Spends most of their lives in the cupboard out of harms way. None of these items were abused, immersed in water, dropped, yelled at or treated in any other demeaning manner. Both look newish, less ish and more new.

I'm ashamed to admit, I might've shown more respect to these appliances than to my loud, excessively annoying, whimsical, man-neutering wife (Red head and Spanish says it all).

Read reviews, tried to isolate problem, did my research. Nope! They're gone, better pastures and the like.

Never received a store generated receipt! Over a year old now and left holding my proverbial without anyone to swing it at God, I hate throwing good stuff away. What a wasteful lot we've become. So what do I do? I write this stuff in the hope that Breville will see this and SAVE the day.

Anyway, too many vodka and cokes today. Next time I'll buy some cheap Chinese branded crap. At least one knows what to expect.

Six months ago I found the Breville Kinetic Control BBL605 on special for $189.

This blender has a 1200w motor, the jug holds 1.5L, has cup measurements and is easy to clean as the s/steel blades are sealed to the jug ( no unscrewing, no stinky rubber bits). The material is not heavy glass, like my previous blender. It's a hard wearing BPA free plastic that doesn't scratch. The base is very stable and made of a heavy metal cast material. Modern Looking. The controls are push button, with 5 functions, 3 quick functions, start/ stop and a digital timer. (stops after 1 minute for smoothys).

So far, so good. I am making margaritas, smoothys and even some soup. But just to be on the safe side, cool your broth & vegies down a bit before pouring. I am not sure if the jug is high temperature proof, so I am not gonna risk cracking it, although I wash the jug in warm water with no problems.

As far as the noise level goes, it is not too bad. not wisper quiet, but not a screamer either. Ice crashing capability is very good, no more unscrewing to clean.

Great blender! – This blender is multi functional with so many options to use- blend, chop, ice breaker, etc. It is great to make smoothies, cocktails, etc. The stainless steel finish makes it have a nice clean finish, so it is easy to clean. The timer is also a great function as it will automatically stop after 120 seconds, so you don't have to stand there.  Show details

Never had a better blender – This unit replaces the BBL250 (I think--die cast base, poly jug and five simple buttons across the front) that we had before, and it was well worth the upgrade. good – this blender makes good smoothies and milkshakes. it is a little bit noisy when running but l guess all the blenders are. while it breaks ice cubes but sometimes it stuck if the ice cubes are big or too many, you just need to give it a stir and it will keep on finishing its job. overall a good blender.  Show details

stopped working. I took it apart and found the problem. Bad designed seals and low quality Chinese ball bearing. Moisture and bearings don’t like each other and even if it was a high quality ball bearing the same would have happened but just a bit later . Forget about a refund as it is designed to fail not long after the warranty runs out. Happy shopping !

Rubbish Breville Blender/s – Had this for just over 3 years 5 months. Vary sparing use for mixtures such as milk shakes, breadcrumbs, dips and similar. It just stopped with smoke pouring from the motor, doing breadcrumbs. This is the 2nd similar Breville blender that has broken down; the first one had similar use and was also out of warranty. Seal on Jug 'melted' - lumps in smoothies – Like a number of others in these reviews. the Seal on our Jug 'melted' and eventually the blade seized. pulsing high and low, tried stopping and stirring. It just seems to get to a point where it can't make it any smoother.

Can’t make thick smoothies – Works well until you want to make a thicker smoothie. It all get stuck and you have to juggle it and push it down with a spoon. Its a little hard to clean.  Show details

OK for smoothies not for ice – This blender will blend up most fruits and veg but the motor has trouble blending up ice. I use this blender around 3 times a day and it keeps up with me. I don't need to worry that it will fall from the table. I like this blender. It's a good helper in the kitchen.

Does everything I need it to do – Whether I'm making almond milk or a banana honey and crumble smoothie this machine gets the job done, the only negative would be that the motor connection is plastic yet the male connector to the jug is a metal bolt which is quite annoying should it overheat and melt the plastic off.  Show details

So far so good – This blender is well-designed. It also looks stylish on my benchtop. The lid is easy to close and it holds well. IT is also easy to clean and use. It blends well. Good blender – Good quality blender. Does the job, strong dual blades, a few options for programmability. I like the self cleaning option, however you need to be careful you dont overfill the bowl with soapy water since it may overflow and go everywhere (its happened to me a few times).  Show details

Great for smoothies!!! Also for dips/veggies etc – I'm very happy with the blender! Yes it's a blender and I do make a lot of smoothies and it works really well. Nice for Smoothies – Smoothies option os perfect for mixing. and 60 sec mixing without creating heat and mixed power to push up ingredients which makes mix and grind well even bottom of Jar. Moreover, I love 2nd option to grate onions. Not grinding just like.choping. Perfect cor me.  Show details

turned out chunky and terrible. With my old trente & steele, I had to leave it all in there for about 1 minute and it was all ready! Do NOT buy this blender. I'm taking back mine to where I purchased it this weekend to see if it may be defective, but if it's not defective, then it's just a god awful design and I regret spending $150 on this so so bad.

Disappointed – It caught fire and is only just over 3 years old - it is a product I wouldn't use often, perhaps once a month and I would not expect something to actually smell burnt and then have smoke coming out of it....not impressed as it was an expensive one and I bought this blender because it seemed better than some of the other cheaper plastic types!  Show details

Bad can live without it noise level is loud – I received my blender last week and excited to make soup and smoothies. Well, when I turned on the blender it was so loud.
