Disappointed with the Britax B-Compaq – We bought the Britax B-Compaq as a second car seat, expecting it to meet the same standards as our Britax B-First. In-store, the harness appeared easy to adjust, but in real-world use, it’s noticeably harder to secure compared to the B-First. No matter how much we try, it’s impossible to get the harness to the level of tightness we consider safe and comfortable. After taking the seat back to Baby Bunting, even the car seat fitter thought there was a problem and sent it back to Britax for inspection. Britax returned the seat stating that it was “normal” for this model, explaining the difference is due to a single roller rather than a dual roller as used in the B-First.
Unfortunately, this explanation didn’t solve our issue, and we now avoid using the car with the B-Compaq installed. We only use it when absolutely necessary, and it’s a constant frustration. To add to our disappointment, a cousin who bought the same model also struggles with the same issue and regrets the purchase.
We don’t recommend the Britax B-Compaq, especially if you value ease of use and a secure fit. If you have the space and budget, go with the B-First instead—it’s worth it for the added convenience and peace of mind.

Very happy bub on the road – We have been using this seat since our baby was about 3 months old. She falls asleep in minutes when on the road and she has had long naps in it so I can only assume she's super comfortable in it. initial set up since the first installation but it looks easy enough to do. So far we're very happy with this seat and so is bub!
The perfect transition seat – We started our baby in this seat from 4 months onwards. car rides in a comfortable environment. Despite it being summer currently, the material of the seat is breathable and can easily be wiped if there have been any throw ups on our journey. I am yet to remove or change the seat settings however the online instructions on the QR code seem relatively straight forward even for me!
Great seat for safety and peaceful rides ! – We have been using the seat for 2 months now, our baby is just turning 1yo and so far seems to feel very comfortable in his seat. He is quite a big baby so its good to know the seat will grow with him. We find it very easy to set up and installation our baby in the seat, and to pick him from there too. We highly recommend it! Secure, comfy and easy-to-use car-seat – Baby fits snugly with infant insert, material is soft and easy to clean, and safety straps are easier to deal with than other brands/models! Plastic clips on the side to hold harness/strap belts in position has been really handy, so they don't get twisted around. Good value given lifespan of baby through to toddler, would recommend. Easy to use, compact and comfortable – Love our new car seat. It's compact (as the name suggests) but still super roomy and padded for my now 7 week old. huge amount of space/legroom to make room for the seat, which is an issue we had with our previous car seat of a different brand. Love this seat!
Great carseat! – Our son just loves his new carseat. As the namesake it is ‘compact’ because it uses less space compared to other carseats we have had for my other child. At the same time, it’s still very comfortable without compromising safety. We have a wriggly baby but with the b-compaq it’s much easier to put him in and out of the carseat compared to the others we have had. Show reply
Another great seat from Britax! – We love how narrow the seat is. It did take extra padding underneath the seat to fit snugly onto the seat of the Honda Jazz that we drive. It has great padding all around, comfortable for bubs to sleep in and easy to use and adjust as bub grows. Perfect car seat for our little girl – The B-compaq is the perfect seat for our family. It is smaller in size so allows more room for the passenger seat to recline and move back. The size doesn’t take away from its features. Our little girl loves car rides and as a family we do many road trips. The padding and comfort of the seat means we have hassle free trips and most of all no tears! Definitely recommend! Show reply
Car rides are so much fun now! – Our daughter is loving her new carseat and so are we !!! We even managed to take a long trip down to Mornington over the weekend and she fell asleep both ways which has never happened in the car before !
