Poor customer service – Sent a message on social media on the 29 March to no response and also an email on 7th April still no response

Poor quality hat, no response from company – I purchased Amarillo Fedora in Light Grey around two weeks ago (took ages to come) and on arrival found the hat was not as described or pictured. addition, an electrical alligator clip attached to the hatband. Considering the several paragraphs Brixton gives over to hat care on its site, receiving a hat so shoddily packed was an eye-opener. It's also not what I'd call "light" grey. I'd describe it as "mid-grey".
With regard to size, large was what I chose, allegedly for 58-60cm heads. I take size 59cm, and it is a little large. It's easy enough to pack out the inner headband, but getting the round shape of the hat to conform to my oval head will be a painful challenge given how hard the hat is. This brand is sold across a number of online retailers, and some have better returns policy than Brixton themselves- there was a note in the carton which told me returns weren't accepted for products "on sale or on promotion". I immediately emailed the company and after two days have not received a reply or even an acknowledgment.
While I can understand slow responses (and abysmally slow postage) at this time of year, a policy of no returns when the product is packed poorly, is not as described/pictured and is furthermore of poor quality is not how I would expect any retailer to operate. While the normal price is well short of that of an Akubra, I expect better quality than that of the Chinese-made hat I received.
Follow up: I did eventually receive a response from Brixton and they offered a return on the hat on the basis that it was sub-standard. So the hat has been returned in the carton it came in, needless to say with slow Christmas post it could be some time away. But happy to have finally received a response, and a positive one at that.
