Granulated wood – Terrible. Mostly granulated wood. If u want your plants to stand sturdy this is it. But if u want ur plants to fruit then ull be disappointed. IMO It should not be marketed as potting mix, bc it isnt a potting mix in true sense of the word. Its mostly wood. Ive found that with most brunnings brand like “sulphate of potash” does not do its job while other brands r fine
Woeful Product – Purchased this stuff to grow some beetroot seedlings. The seeds sprouted in two weeks, grew to only one centimeter and then, after 5 weeks of non-growth, must have decided this world was not for them! They're all slowly curling up and dying. A waste of money for seed purchase and potting mix. Brunnings need to be sued for attempting to sell a… Read more
fraudulent product. Their regular potting mix is nothing but rubbish material dressed up as something else. Suggest the product should be withdrawn from sale.
Full of MDF Glass and Plastic – I bought a few bags from local Mitre 10. All 3 bags were full of MDF that they clearly chipped a old piece of furniture. I found bits of glass and plastic. Terrible. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing for the price. I expected it to be atleast be made from natural products. Show details

Terrible Full of sticks, a few rocks and even black plastic Show details
Poor quality – Purchased 7 new bags of Brunnings All Season potting mix and all were inundated with flying insects. They are small like midgees. The soil is gluggy not loose and spreadable. All bags were sealed with no rips or punctures anywhere. Isn't there some quality control during the bagging to test for insects as the potting mix is bagged up in… Read more
production. Each potted plant that has Brunnings pitting mix soil has an algae like growth on top and there are midgees coming from the soil. Constantly cleaning up dead ones and trying to catch flying one. Extremely disappointed.
Poor Quality Arborist Waste – I found this product to be of poor quality. The bag I purchased seemed to be mostly shredded bark, wood chips and other arborist waste. It was on sale. I was disappointed and would not buy it again. Show details
Fill not potting mix – Found that it is Full of sticks, rocks, mould and even found a bottlecap. Not good for potting but would be ok for fill only. Very disappointed as bought 10 bags. Show details

Happy with this potting mix – It is friable..never mouldy..my plants thrive in it with regular application of seaweed extract.. ..doesnt smell like strong disinfectant/ chemical.. affordable. I have switched from using the big brand name H.....o for all these above reasons Show details
For the price I find this a very good product – This is a budget potting mix but very good for the price.. I have been using this product for quite some time. It’s good to mix with other products to fill larger pots. Can be used indoors or out doors Show details
Perfect – It's garbage for ornamental flowers but GREAT for growing Sturts Desert Pea. They love crap soil. The soil repells water which is excellent because they hate water. So it's not all bad haha! Show details

You'll need a mattock for this one – Purchased several bags of this product from the local hardware store. It was like 70 L bags of concrete which I had to chip away at. There were also bits of plastic and lumps of wood through the mix. I wore gloves, but no mask, and consequently ended up at the local Medical Centre as my hands, wrists, face and neck developed red blistery… Read more
lumps. I don't normally have problems with potting mixes, but then I've never had to try and break them up either.
Rubbish Potting Mix – My star wouldn’t be one, only I have to put something. Stay clear of this, it’s clearly not potting soil, that’s why they call it potting mix. It’s full of sticks and rubbish. I buy Searles from Bunnings all the time, completely satisfied with that. Just look at the reviews, it’s speaks for itself. Show details
Flying insects – We opened two new bags of Brunnings All Season potting mix and both were inundated with flying insects. They are small like fruit flies. Both bags were sealed with no rips or punctures anywhere. The insects were bagged up in production. Very disappointed. Show details

May not be safe for health – Found many small pieces of artificial materials, such as painted material, plastic and poceline. Above all, I do not feel it is safe for health to use it for planting vegs or herbs.
Does anyone else find this potting mix don't drain well at all ? – Does anyone else find this potting mix don't drain well at all ? . I've put the mix in the pot and when I water it it takes ages to drain is that right but ? Show details
Don’t waste your money – Very disappointed. Opened the bag to find what I can only describe as terrible quality debris mix (how they can advertise it as potting mix is beyond me). Will be steering well clear in the future of anything brunnings since the most energy they can put into their products is the dead battery I found in my bag of “potting” mix
Do not buy – Shame there isnt a lower rating than one star. If you do not want your tomatoes to wilt then do not buy. Clearly the soil has fungi detrimental to most vegetables. Show details
Fungus Gnats – Poor quality soil, as others have detailed. Full of fungus gnats, which slowly kill your plants at the roots. Maybe it can be used outdoors for very hardy plants. Definitely do not use this for indoor or potted plants. Show details
Seems that plants don't like this – Used several bags of brunnings potting mix, bought from woolworths. Used several bags to cover seeds planted in the garden. Virtually all seeds failed to show, or where some beans shot, the seedlings went brown where the stem was in contact with the mix, and most died. By contrast, seeds planted only 0.5metres away are thriving. When I used some… Read more
of this mix in pots, again for growing seedlings, the strike rate was terrible. In some cases pots failed completely. Same seeds in garden soil, beside the brunnings filled pots, no problems. Have tried striking cuttings in brunnings mix, again terrible results. The mix smells quite chemically when taken from the bag and I wonder what's in this potting mix.
I won't buy this product ever again – The first 2 weeks was great I was happy with the soil until fruit fly looking things started to appear in every indoor plant I have in every room (in total approx 35 plants) Every 2days I'm spraying pest oil and still they won't die. I'm soo over it and disappointed in this soil, I just hope my plants won't die. Show details
will never buy again – after buying several bags of potting mix. for indoor garden in pots room was filled wth these tiny black flys all eminateing through the potting mix on all th [pots I have used suface spray on all the pots but hope it wont kill the plants Rotten stuff like the stuff from local tip Dont know if i have solved the problem or killed the plants Show details
ABOSULETELY rubbish grade! – doesn't drain when wet. Like concrete when dry, ABOSULETELY rubbish grade! It doesn't even look like potting mix like other brands which generally contains a bit sand, mud and wood chips. This thing looks like a pile of wet, black, hairy i don't want to describe it. Terrible in wet weather - rain does not drain through just sits on top – In heavy rain the water just sits on the top and the pot has to be tipped over the let the water out. So the plants are just floating inside the pots, not good for their roots. I am surprised given it is made up from a lot of wood pieces. Show details
all season potting mix – I will; not buy this product again , it is rubbish, I have just put it all in my compost. Will not use it on my plants. Waste of money. You get what you pay for. Show details
Rubbish potting mix – Warning, don’t buy this product. It is basically a bag full of rubbish or stuff other potting mix companies have rejected. Mainly just burnt wood, sticks etc, with hardly any actual soil. Show details
Complete rubbish – Repotted my healthy indoor plants and have had to watch them either die or really struggle to get going again.I have had to actually aerate the mix in the pots because it set hard. Avoid at all costs and as it sells for$3 I got what i paid for; absolute crsp. Show details
Warning dont buy!! Contained very high levels of ammonia , killed plants!!! – Warning dont buy!! Contained very high levels of ammonia , killed plants!!!! Bought from bunnings, smell was 10 times worse than going to the hairdressers to bleach hair, they need to recall product batch!!! Show details
Repels water – planted seedlings in this potting mix and after repeated watering and wondering why the plants looked bad i have discovered the potting mix repels water, it is as dry as a bone just under the surface. The bag was branded Brunnings Drakes Potting Mix as it is being sold by Drakes supermarket. Show details
Rubbish!!!! – I am sorry to say I am very disappointed with the potting mix. Plants turned yellow and grow poorly. Fungus grew in the pots. Bought this product for residents at my nursing home. No good at all and will never buy it again. Seems to be mostly wood. Friends have found the same problems. Very happy to pay for more expensive product. Show details
was good, now rubbish – I had been using Searles premium mix that came in 65 litre woven poly bags for quite a few years with very good results. Recently these (at my supplier, local Norco rural store) appear to have been replaced by 50litre plastic bags. Unfortunately the new product is nothing short of rubbish. Moisture retention and plant growth rates are… Read more
significantly less in the new product. Also unfortunate is that I bought 150 litres before I discovered the problem -
waste of money.
Today I was potting-on numerous plants grown in this medium. Despite having been well watered over the couple of months since first potted, the sub- surface mix resembled dry saw dust with whiteish dust/fungus.
Extremely disappointed and will be looking elsewhere for future purchases.
PLEASE NOTE: mistake made in brand ..am now trying Brunnings mix as it was Searles I had trouble with.
Rubbish Product – Purchased 5 bags for growing my vegetable seedlings. Am very disappointed with results as everything suffering badly or dying. This potting mix stays very water logged just like clay. Won't drain properly at all. Will definitely never purchase this inferior Victorian manufactured product again! Will buy less expensive superior local potting mix in future. Show details
Brunnings potting mix – I recently bought 3 big bags of easy wetta potting mix from my local bunnings store and I was really impressed. It was good quality based on the price. I used it in filling up a garden bed and added some extra manure to increase the nutrients but over all pretty happy. Show details
Disappointed – I recently bought 3 bags of Brunnings Easy Wetta Potting Mix, I have used it before with good results. But... this time the first bag was ok but when I opened the second bag it was grey in colour & smelt like mound, in fact it is mouldy. Hardly game to open the third bag. Very disappointed with this product, Will give it a miss next time.
Not the least impressed to find a bloody great rock (120 mm x 90 mm x 80mm - approx) in a bag of Brunnings red bag potting mix frm Woolworths Burnie. Show details
Garbage – How can they call this potting mix. It is just glorified woodchips. Steer clear of this product Show details
