4 Tinmac  · Delicious – Haven't had this bread in a while but had some today and it didn't disappoint. Lovely and soft and flavoursome.
1 SRT  · too much salt – my BP readings have risen at an alarming rate since eating this bread, it's a shame as it is very tasty.
1 JSC  · so disappointed – What have you done to the best GF bread out there. If I wanted dry, crumbly thick slices that were inedible I would buy Helgas.
1 Ronnie  · You made a bad call on new recipe – Why change the gluten free recipe when it was the best out there. New recipe is horrid will not buy again
5 Anoint  · Perfect! – It's help a lot for my husband and my daughter my sister my mum & dad my sons and my friend too
5 Harris  · I love it – Very nice bread with amazing texture. Has a great taste and I love eating it alone. You can feel the whole seeds when eating it.

Got this as a substitute from Woolworths delivery and I don't think I've tasted a worse bread. Somehow both soggy and dry. The aftertaste lasts for hours. Lots of emulsifiers. Show details

New recipe is dry and loaded with carbs – If you compare the “before” macros for this bread vs the “new” recipe, you’ll notice the carbs are significantly higher. Not all of you may be into macro counting but it might be worthwhile knowing that you’re getting more carbs in each slice vs the old recipe. The new bread is dry and tasteless as well. Thumbs down from me. Show details

Why is Burgen GF bread no longer available? – I thought the Burgen GF Sunflower/Chia seed bread the best GF bread on the market. Have had a number of loaves frozen in my freezer so perhaps I’ve missed the new recipe while using up those. But please can we have the old bread back and available again - so good and nothing else competes. Why has it been taken off the market? Show details

Yummy – First time I've had this bread and it was only because my sister in law gave it to me. I'm glad she did. It is absolutely yummy yum yum...Thank you for this product.....God bless.

Best bread – Moist yummy high protein bread that doesn’t require butter to give it taste. Confused by reviews of uneven slices/ mould as have purchased this bread continuously over the last 8 years and have never seen this . Perhaps down to the storage principles of some supermarkets?

Recipe changed for the worse – I also thought I had picked up the wrong bread. The new recipe is not as dense, heavy or satisfying as the previous one. I used to love this bread, but won't be buying it anymore. Show details

Surprising change – When I was told that I was on the borderline of becoming pre diabetic, I did a lot of research to confirm the best products to be the base of my diet. Soy Lin was a product that I confirmed as low gi and I loved the texture and taste. I noticed the change immediately. It’s colour, texture, density, taste... I thought I’d picked up the wrong bread … Read more

then I must have confused it with a new different product. I’d love to know why this change was deemed necessary. I really miss the soy Lin I loved. My low rating reflects my disappointment.

'Burgest Mistake' – ".I see that we are not the only ones that have had a gut full of the 'new' Burgen Soy Lin recipe. They have managed to make it almost inedible. It is now dry and tastes stale even when 'fresh'. We have been loyal consumers for many many years. But we can't continue to buy just on fond memories. It's a sad day in the bread isle..." Show details

It’s ok. It’s not nearly as nice as Vogels bread from NZ, it’s a little rubbery and the seeds are a little bitter, but overall it’s light, toasts well and is tasty enough Show details

Love it – Burgen Soy-Lin bread has become my go-to bread, even as a white bread lover. I love the flavour and wholesome moist texture. With its nutrient-rich slices the Soy-Lin bread has become a staple in my kitchen and is a guilt free indulgence keeps me on track toward my health goals. Show details ·  1

Was great ... now awful tasting – I have bought this bread for the last 5 years and loved it ... now they have changed the recipe and I won't be buying it again. I don't know if they are trying to cut costs because of price pressure from the supermarkets but the bread is completely different in texture and taste. It has lost its competitive advantage completely .... disappoint ing for the faithful consumer. Show details

Changed the recipe! – It used to be the only packaged bread I would buy but now they have changed the recipe and it is dry, doesn't make nice sandwiches any more & goes mouldy within a couple of days stored in the fridge. Why did they change it??! Show details

So disappointed – I’m so disappointed in the new recipe. It’s dry, crumbly and tasteless, a complete contrast with the old recipe which was moist and delicious. I will not be buying this brand again unless they revert to the old tried and tested recipe. Burgen, what were you thinking? Show details

New recipe is terrible – Very disappointed. Used to be my favourite GF bread. Now a terrible, crumbly dry mess. The new recipe even comes with a sealed plastic bag inside the traditional bag - but still it is disintegrates upon opening. Can't believe they thought this recipe was an improvement. No longer recommend Show details

gluten free terrible recipie change – Used to be the best gluten free bread on the market...what happened? I suspect the reason for the changed packaging...extra plastic wrap is an attempt to overcome the dry crumbly new recipie

Gluten free ...new recipe – The previous GF recipe..in all lines was fantastic..moist and delicious and the best on the market. The new recipe is in my opinion inferior, it is dry and unpalatable, and so I will no longer be buying from your GF range. Show details

Worst new recipe ever!! – Your gf bread used to be the best out there! Amazing fresh or toasted! Just tried the new recipe and it was terrible it tasted like cardboard. So disappointed! Not to mention it is now wrapped unnecessarily in double the amount of plastic packaging!!! Go back to the old recipe

New recipe is no good – I don’t understand why you changed your gluten free bread recipe. The old recipe was amazing and you could eat it fresh and always beautiful and moist. The new recipe is dry and can only be eaten toasted and just like all the other breads on the market. Why change a good thing.

New recipe AWFUL – Have eaten Burgen gluten free bread since it first came into Coles many years ago. Always liked it & never tried another brand. This new recipe is awful. The bread is dry and it fell apart taking it out . Lost half a loaf & it tasted stale. Will have to try other brands. Never again unless we go back to the old recipe.

Why oh why did they change it? – Burgen Soy-Lin gluten free used to make me happy. Good gluten free breads are so hard to find. And now this one is one of the worst. Dry and crumbly, holes all through it. I will never buy this again. I’m so sad :( Show details

The bad old days – Years ago Gluten free bread was like eating cardboard and the only way it could be resurrected to edible matter was to stick it in the toaster - the bad old days. Then finally Gluten free bread became glorious. How disappointing that Bürgen Bread has reverted back to the bad old days. I will never buy this bread again. Show details

Very disappointed – I had been enjoying Burgen's gluten free soy-Lin bread in 650gm pack for ages - it was the best product on the market. This new recipe in a 500gm pack (at same price) is terrible. The bread is tasteless, dry and breaks apart when handled. For some reason it is double bagged as well which is an environmental disaster! Show details
