Was great ….. for two days. It certainly catches the bugs but after two nights working we had to turn it off because it was so loud. I rung service at Mayo . Said take part and clean fan. This worked extremely well! – Caught heaps of bugs on the first night of holidays. We got this because our dog was being attacked by mosquitos at night and would bark to be let inside, he didn’t make a sound while this was on. Money well spent!! Show details

Great Result After Only A Few Days – Excellent results after only using it for a few days. Also purchased a Mosquito attractant and have caught hundreds of mosquitoes AND heaps of moths. though it attracts Frogs and Praying Mantis who feast on the flying insects in the area of the catcher. Very pleased with my purchase. PS. Not suitable for hanging as it is reasonably heavy and any sway will spill water.

Really Impressed – Bought one of these yesterday - midgees, mossies making life unbearable, even in a screened house. The quite killer of Mozzies – The Bugvac works very well, fill the tray with water and a few drops of detergent so the surface tension of water is broken. The Mozzies and flies (at night) attracted to the light are sucked in by the fan into the water and drown quickly, almost silently except a slight fan noise. Sensational - Pet friendly, too – I personally hate mosquitoes (sorry mosquitoes!) and I also dislike having to apply mosquito repellant on my body just to be able to enjoy myself outdoors, of an evening, without getting bitten. the poor sweetheart into cardiac arrest!! But thankfully, the Yard Guard has been both my own (and my beloved pooch’s) saving grace. It is quiet (no zapping noise), it is effective and it also does an incredible job: firstly, stopping the mosquito breeding cycle (took 1-2 weeks of having Yard Guard on an automatic timer from dusk - 3am) and secondly, as a result stopping the lil buggers from biting anyone when we are outdoors! I highly recommend this - especially setting it up on an automatic timer. Because my bulb/lamp blew in it a few weeks ago - and literally after 1-2 weeks of my Yard Guard not being fully operational the “mosquitoes” (aka lil jerks) have already started to come back :( which goes to show how important it is to be disciplined with having your Yard Guard on, regularly in order to stay on top of the problem. If you love the outdoors, love peace and quiet (no zapping noise) + LOVE not being bitten by mosquitoes!! Then I highly recommend this product.

It's not a fly killer! – Can someone give me a clue? I have tried, since receiving the bug vac, for 3 days to catch a fly. To no avail, they fly around on my covered in deck oblivious to the bug vac.

Do not buy – Insects find their way in behind the glass and will choke the blower . Poor design.No mesh to prevent it. Too bad cant show pics of mine that i pulled appart with the bugs in the electrical , blower engine and behind tube glass.

running I have only seen two midges, the water tray has around 15-20 caught already. The fan which blows the insects down into the water trap is audible which is why I haven't given it the full 5 stars, but it is not really any louder than a cheap pedestal fan and whilst I have it running in the lounge room with the television I haven't been annoyed by the noise. For the unit to be highly effective you need to ensure it does not compete directly with sunlight or room lights. The water trap will make it easy to dispose of the waste.

Useless and expensive it never caught a mosquito – This unit is absolutely useless for killing mosquitoes we ran it for 3 months and all it ever caught where beneficial garden bugs ie small moths I felt quite bad for killing them. It is expensive. The globes do not last long and are also expensive. It's available at Bunnings and office works also online under the name of Bugeater by bugkiller.
