Bugaboo Frog

very good – easy to carry around and to use. the build quality is guite good and very stable. We have used it for the past three or four years and it has held up quite well. I would recommend this product and would use again if we had to buy another one
Better than a cameleon – Incredibly light and zippy in both reverse and forward mode, good for all terrain surfaces, its a really fun little pram that has bought me back into the bugaboo fold after being very disappointed in their other models. Really worth seeking out. Sometimes older models are better than newer and the frog most certainly is.
Good pram – I bought my Frog second hand off eBay, before going on overseas holiday (I didn't want to put my Joolz through the trip) and I must say I'm surprised how good it is. The seat is comfortable and wide, the hood gives good sun protection. It steers ok and you can reverse the handle. However, the obeying things is the belly bar and the way it folds.… Read more
Belly bar is very firmly attached on both ends and it is hard to take it out. Also you cannot 'open' it from one side. The Frog is tricky to fold. My husband still gets frustrated with it. But for the cheap price I paid I'm happy with this pram. If someone wants to try bugaboo before dishing out the big bucks I think it is worth a try (Frog or any older style Chameleon).
Okay – I bought this 2nd hand on ebay 2 years ago and have used it for my son for the past 2 years. On the one hand, it's a very good pram - easy to walk with in the city, maneuver with one hand etc, however it hasn't lasted as well as I would have expected. I have used it a lot, however at this price range, I would not expect to have to replace parts… Read more
such as wheels as often as I have. Every time a wheel has had an issue I am always 'stuck' with dilemma of either having to replace the whole stroller or fix it. I keep fixing it, but seriously, there is no way this would last for another child. If I were planning for another I would buy a new stroller of a different brand and give this away. I totally agree with the other comments about the car - do not buy this if you are planning on getting it in and out of the car. This wasn't an issue for me as I don't drive but it is a total beast to put up and down so I just leave it up (and it takes up sooo much room).
It's great just not realistic, for me – I love the shape, size, weight, colours, It a fabulous pram the only thing I don't like is the basket me being a stay at home mum with no car/licence and a full time working partner (with a car) I need something with enough room to store shopping in so I can get on a bus without the pram tipping because it is such light weight whenever I hang… Read more
things off the back it tips whether my 10m DS is in the seat or not, Easy to fold, small, light, easy to use one or two hands, rear or forward facing The basket is too small for me especially when I catch busses and there is no where to put my shopping coz if I hang it off the back the pram will tip
Not happy at all! – I purchased a bugaboo frog second hand for $400 in awesome condition, however was so disappointed.. Im guessing the person i bought it off never used it either as it was jn such great condition without a mark on it!! I wish I had read reviews before purchasing. For such an expensive pram it is ridiculously frustrating to use. Firstly- to have… Read more
to pull into 2 pieces to put into the car is time consuming and takes up a lot of room in boot. Once the seat part is off, the chassis folds down, but you have to make sure you fold it down correctly otherwise when you put it back up some how it's possible to end up with the front wheels at the back! It really is not the easiest pram to assemble!
I found it to have terrible steering abilities also. If I tried to rock the pram back and forth , the front wheels would turn in any direction making it impossible to easily rock my baby.
It was a really unsturdy feeling pram. I never felt it was clicked together properly, and was so shaky when pushing on grassy areas etc.
The storage bag underneath is absolutely ridiculous also. It's hard to get into and everything does need to be taken out before putting pram down.
I really liked the look of the pram, but unfortunately I'm getting rid of it to buy another one that's easier and nicer to use!
I had a $150 pram for my first child that was fantastic!
This one unfortunately, I will never recommend. Looks good.
Very average pram – Bought one second hand on eBay for $300. I originally liked the look of the Frog/Cameleon and grabbed a frog on eBay. But after using for a while I began to dislike the pram. It was annoying to rake apart to put in car, you have to remove the seat, then fold up the chassis using these little click buttons on the frame which were fiddly, then put… Read more
that in the car then pick the seat up and put that in car, a mission just to do that.
I use to like the look of the pram but the canopy doesn't shade my baby enough, and I always feel like he is too exposed.
The accessories to go with the pram are too expensive, my frog was missing the underseat bag so I bought it from USA for $65 plus $35 shipping. Everything is overpriced because of the brand.
Also its a pram that needs servicing, the wheels squeak already!
Wouldn't buy again, not even second hand. The "look", being able to buy different colours for the pram Expensive accessories, not great on all terrain, small canopy, baby exposed too much, not a big seat area, hard to take apart
Excellent – I bought my Frog 2nd hand after selling my Mountain Buggy as my son did not like facing outwards when younger and love it. Unlike the Mountain Buggy it easily fits through normal checkout isles in shops. I love that my son can face me when going a long walk so I can chat to him. The shopping basket isn't huge but then not many are, I have hooks… Read more
on the handlebar so I can hang shopping from there too.
The hood gives reasonable coverage and the parasol is great as my son can still see while being shaded from the sun.
Despite my Frog being 2nd hand I've had no problems with squeaky wheels yet.
The 2 part fold is a bit of a pain and it's too big to take on public transport so I have a stroller too but worth it for long walks.
I guess my only complaint would be that the bumper bar is made of foam and gets grubby easily, a cover for it would be a great idea.
Overall I LOVE my Frog and so glad I bought it. Great steering, baby can face you, lot's of accesories available, great off road, seems comfortable, not too wide, fabric can be removed and machine washed, feels sturdy, looks good. 2 Part fold, bumper bar gets very dirty & hard to clean.
Just ok, not worth the $$ – This pram/stroller is very easy to steer one handed (even whilst walking 2 naughty dogs at the same time), looks nice and the fact that it can be rear facing or forward facing is great. However it's an absolute pain to disassemble to put in the car - really fiddley, & takes up a lot of room in the boot because it's in 2 parts. Storage basket… Read more
underneath is pretty useless, & not accessible when bassinette is assembled. In fact when folding up the frame, the basket empties upside down, so you have to pull everything out first. You can't swap & change between bassinette & stroller either, because they share common parts. Sun canopy isn't very big. I also don't like how when in fully reclined stroller position, the baby's legs are still up in the air - I'd prefer a flat reclining stroller (more comfortable for sleeping, plus easier to change nappies within the pram). Also everything gets stuck in the wheels - lots of possum poo around our area!
To be honest it's just not worth the $$ (I've bought a cheap stroller on sale at Target that I like just as much - It's going to live in my car so i don't have to bother with he bugaboo. It prob won't last as long, but I could buy 15 of them for the price of a new bugaboo!!). Looks great, super easy to steer, & i love that my baby can be facing me so i can interact with her more Not worth $$ at all - see my description for why!!
Best pram ever!!! – This is the original bugaboo pram (and the best). After seeing so many celebs with this type of pram, i desperately wanted to try it myself. However, never had the money. Luckily I was able to grab a bargain on ebay for $180 in perfect condition. Extremely lucky. Where do i start........so lightweight, easier to maneuver, I can use it one handed,… Read more
while holding onto my other 2 kids. Unfortunately I bought this with my third child. Would have been better with only 1 child. However, they have a skateboard attachment for toddler which I really want to try. A must have to make your life easier!!! Easy to maneuver, lightweight, stylish, practical. Extremely expensive when bought brand new
So much unwarrented hype! – I inherited the Frog while deliberating whether to buy a Mountin Buggy or a Steelcraft. While it's great to have had the pram (- which I found my 11 week old baby trying to Houdini over the side of) and the stroller attachments, I find the base incredibly difficult to use. A friend who also had the Frog loved it. When I asked her how she coped… Read more
with the frame, she stated that it was way too hard to use so she only ever used the stroller in and around her home as she found it way too hard to put up and take down. Loved the basinette and stroller options The base was very temperamental to put up and down. When I am to get it up, I have to ensure that I have removed all attachments (including the Bugaboo organiser) as any weight sees it topling over. Also, the under basket turns upside down when you put the frame up which means that everything falls out if you havent secured the bag tightly. If you do secure the bag tightly, you have no way of accessing it once the basinette is attached. Also, very low to the ground when compared to other brands - shocking for a bad back!
OK – This range of Bugaboo strollers (the Frog and Chameleon) look lovely and stylish, however are far from the most practical. We loved that bubs faced forward which is the main reason we bought this stroller over any other. Our son hated lying down from birth so we put him in the semi reclining position and used it that way for nine months until he… Read more
started sitting up.
The stroller was a life saver at home as I constantly wheeled bubs around in it (our home has no stairs or steps) whilst doing housework or settling. I used this stroller a lot but now after a year of owning it I've decided to sell it as I don't want to keep it as our baby doesn't like being semi reclined and I find the sitting upright position too low to the ground.
If I had my time again I wouldn't purchase this stroller, I'd look at another forward facing pram that is perhaps a little less expensive such as Peg Perego Skate. All big brand strollers are made in Asia so there's not that much difference at the end of the day. Semi reclining position perfect for very young babies who refuse to lie down in basinette like our newborn son. Looks very stylish. Baby can sit facing forward to carer, a wonderful thing as we like to chat with our son whilst walking him. Steering not that great (particularly when you compare to our other pram, a Mountain Buggy Swift), an absolute pain to pull apart to put into the boot. I hate doing this so much I refuse to take the Bugaboo anywhere other than local walks. Upright sitting position is very low to the ground.
Basket is ridiculously small, I can barely fit a loaf of bread and some vegetables into it whilst at the local shops. Annoying pull closure on it too.
Overall construction could be a bit better, there is an annoying squeak in the frame when I turn corners or take it up/down steps.
Good – I loved this pram, it has many of the Cameleons strengths for a smaller price, it also is better off road than the Cameleon. However I did ultimatley sell it to buy a Cameleon because the wheels begin to squeek with age and the smaller seat is outgrown sooner. This is a great stroller for someone looking to try a Bugaboo for less outlay. … Read more
My son, husband and I all loved owning it. Lightweight, very attractive, good off road & on smooth ground. The fold is very annoying, over time the wheels begin to squeek. The two peice fold is not ideal.
