Absolute trash capsule!!! Had this capsule back in 2024 for my first child had issue with chin chest but I could remove the wedge in the back for a better fit so that’s not my issue. I purchased the new and improved one in 2025 for my 2026 baby. They have put a massive amount of padding under the head/back area which pushes baby so far forward… Read more

giving an extremely tight fit. My 3.2kg baby was so snug in it (way to tight). by 4kg baby couldn’t even fit in the capsule with the new born insert. Making it a bad fit for my baby I went to baby bunting and they said the fit was not right and to contact bugaboo to return it. Bugaboo refused to do anything about it have stated they will not return or exchange if it’s not technically faulty. The issue is the whole capsule but bugaboo can’t see that. They try gas light you thinking you and your baby are the problem. Baby bunting said they need approval from bugaboo for them to return or exchange it. So nothing has been done bugaboo continues to email me saying send a video even though they have said they will not do anything about it as it’s not technically faulty. Wasted $559 wish I didn’t give them a second chance. Instead of coming out with your bugaboo donkey 6 improved your product you already have. I have since stopped using the bugaboo capsule. Bugaboo donkey 5. And the bugaboo butterfly. As I will not support a business that can’t take responsibility for a wrongly designed capsule. I am not the only one having this issue so it’s obviously not an issue with the person using it.

Terrible – I love our bugaboo fox 5 pram but the turtle capsule is TERRIBLE. We used it for a very short time and switched to a better car seat. Our baby HATED being in it and would scream - chin to chest position and squashed/hunched over. She did not look comfortable at all. Couldn’t get rid of this capsule fast enough!

Very disappointing – Having been pleased with the bugaboo fox2 and dragonfly pushchairs we bought for our grandchildren, we decided to try the nuna car seat. Well, what a massive disappointment it was! There is no room to get your hands into the deep pushchair in order to safely lift the baby out and support it's head. Literally had to drag baby out by the… Read more

clothing. No head support. Immensely frightening for all involved. Won't be using again. It's also too deep and too hot to use anywhere but a cool country. Bugaboo aftercare is very poor and all they can do to help is send a demonstration video which doesn't use a baby or even a baby sized doll. Very very disappointed. A swivel may when getting the baby out but mainly the headrest needs to be adjustable in a horizontal manner so that it can go wider.

Should be taken off the market – We love bugaboo as a brand but this car seat is terrible. We haven’t been able to find a comfortable position for bub at all with this seat, it tends to make him in a chin to chest position which is totally unsafe. This product should be taken off the Australian market - I had a look online and the American version is the turtle air and that… Read more

looks like a much better version. Very disappointed in this product, and we can’t return it as it’s been ‘used’

Basic – Installation was difficult. No videos showing installation in Australia with the same base. I have a Mazda CX-5, quite a large car. The base does not sit correctly in the back seat, it sits quite far forward and does not seem secure. We paid for someone to install it and they said this is how it is and that he always has this problem with these… Read more

models. In terms of comfort for the baby, it is hard and clunky. This is in comparison to two other brand capsules I have used for previous babies.

The magnetic sunshade seems like a great idea. Unfortunately the magnet detaches easily and often hits my baby in the face. We bought a bugaboo Donkey Duo 5 plus the adapter for the capsule. We were hoping to have the normal pram attachment for our 2 year old and the capsule next to him. However, you can not have the capsule and the pram seat side by side. So if you want to use this on a double pram, you can’t.

After 7 months of use the belt buck has stopped working.

Overall, you’re paying for a brand name and not a quality or innovative product.

Misleading for Australia – I have written to Nuna regarding this product and my issues with it and they couldn't be bothered responding. What I said to them was this. I cannot believe how poorly the Bugaboo Turtle is marketed in Australia - relying on overseas content to make it look like the greatest, easiest system ever invented. It's not! And I have one very angry… Read more

pregnant daughter who will attest to that. No wonder there are no Australian videos showing how to fit the base and the Turtle capsule itself.

Let's start with the base. My daughter has a 2021 VW Tiguan. Not a small SUV, a medium sized one. I wouldn't have thought installation wouldn't be an issue. Wrong. When fitting the base using the ISOFIX anchorages that are standard on her car, it pushes the base so far forward, away from the rear backrest that when the capsule is clipped in, the front seat has to be pushed almost all the way forwards. You cannot get into the front seat!

Then comes the big one. The stupid Tether Strap. Obviously not a requirement in Europe or the USA, judging by all the videos, but what it means is every time you want to take the capsule out to go in the stroller you have to slacken off the tether to get it over the capsule. It's not a case of just clipping the capsule in or out of the base. That's really handy and of course it is not shown anywhere! It is not easy to get the capsule in and out of the car if you have to fight a tether every time.

Australian reviews of this product, do not mention the tether either, which is a mandatory in Australia.

So to recap. If you want to buy this 'system' at well over $1000, you need to be aware:

a) You need a car with a BIG back seat. b) If you install it legally, you will have to deal with a roof or back seat tether around the capsule.
