With a simple one handed release while holding the capsule with the other hand you can remove from the solid car base and reattaching is even easier with simply placing the capsule back on the base and hearing the click. The extended use makes this a valuable investment accomodating both premature infants and babies up to 12months. Would buy again.
Very disappointing, waste of substantial amount of money – We chose this capsule because of its up to 12 months status rather than up to 6 months, however after 8 weeks my average sized child was unable to comfortably fit in the seat even with the newborn insert removed. seat from another brand and my child was instantly more comfortable and no longer upset when placed in the car. Personally I believe these capsules are a waste of money and are much too expensive for the very short amount of time that they are able to be used. We also purchased because we thought being able to move the capsule from car to pram would be helpful if our child was asleep but never actually did this because our child was never asleep in the capsule due to discomfort. I recommend going straight for a 0-4years or 0-8 years car seat rather than wasting large amounts of money on these pretty much useless capsules.
Love our capsule! – We love our Maxi Cosi Mico 12 LX capsule. It served us so well for our first bub and now with bub number 2. Baby 1 would have been comfortable in it well past 12 months, but we moved her out for number 2 to use it. It's easy to put in and out of the car and attaches nicely onto out Uppababy Vista V2 pram with the capsule adaptors, both upper and lower. Terrible – I bought the capsule along with the stroller. Originally the adapters that arrived with it were wrong and didn’t fit at all. I was sent another adapter which is also wrong. just pushing it lightly with 1 finger. It moves back forth and side to side. And I won’t risk putting my newborn in it to have his little brain rattled around. And yet I’ve been told it’s normal and that it’s all fine. If this is considered fine then this truly is a rubbish product. Also the instability is nothing like the capsule on YouTube on their maxi cosi channel. That one there looks stable and perfectly fine, the adapter also looks completely different. I don’t know how much more obvious it could be that it’s clearly not right. I also seen another person with same capsule at shopping centre which I was having a chat with, and no surprises, their capsule sits perfectly fine and stable and doesn’t rock at all.

leave the house on my own. However the Mico 12 purchase was a game changer for us and my baby looked so much more comfortable and relaxed, not only her, but I too was much more relaxed on going out. With the kids needing school runs, the quick pay of petrol or a duck into the shops (with no disturbances on baby’s nap), I must say I never had an infant capsule prior for the older kids since they never sold up to 12 month of use in the Maxi Cosi range prior the 2022, plus I always questioned the cost for 6 months of use, but this extended age bracket made it worth it. I wish this was around for my eldest who was born pre-term as the low birthweight allowance on the Mico 12 would have helped immensely! The canopy was so impressive, it was better than the canopy on most strollers and easy to use and durable. Installation was a breeze! The easiest car seat in my life to install! Base was a breeze to install with no stabilisers required, just the lap sash through the base on initial set up, and after that it’s really just a click and go, best part was no silly loose and unloosen loops to place over the car seat each time when using on a daily; the clip to secure the capsule itself just rests over the upholstered side of the seat’s backrest, and the green indicators to say secure are genius! When it was time to get out, I could either carry (more so when baby is tiny) or I could dock onto one of our strollers. It worked with our maxi cosi stroller that we purchased ironically (and came with adapters) as well as our bugaboo, with additional bugaboo adapters purchased. We brought a second base from Maxi Cosi online to have ready in the second car. The seat still fit our baby right up to the 15 months, (fitting snug but really looks more like a junior rear facing seat) however post the 8 months mark, we would just take her in and out like a regular car seat otherwise it would have been too heavy with the combined weight. This was great when it came to longevity of usage as it gave us value for money and then later on all we had to do was purchase a 6mth-8yr car seat instead which saved us money on getting a bigger car seat post 4yrs later on. PRO: Longevity and oh my gosh the ease of use was the best by far that I have ever experienced in my 10 years of parenting! CON: Can get a little heavy if you carry baby in it as they get bigger, (eventually baby wants to be picked up out of the seat as they get more alert and look at the world). The extra weight may limit light weight stroller options (check your compatibility) and being bigger than a Mico 6 means it takes up just a little more room than the smaller capsules.

this is rated up to 12 months, I use this in place of the Prams toddler seat, so I dont have to carry around multiple items in the car. Love the full canopy and rear vent as it provides excellent sun protection. It isn't the lightest and can be heavy taking into and out of the house to the car. There is an infant insert for when baby is small, I had to remove this as it was uncomfortable for my child. It seems confortable with my baby able to easily sleep on car rides, you do have to make sure it is adjusted to your childs correct hieght otherwise it does become uncomfortable for them, luckily this seat is very easy to adjust with a pull of the headrest upward or down, the straps auto adjust so no fiddling with them this was a huge positive for me. Only negatives are the weight of it and angle it sits in the car with bub wanting to be more upright.

Lite enough my wife could carry it up 2 flights of stair 6 months after a c-section.
As for build quality, again perfect. The fabrics wash easily, the magnets come in handy to hold the harnesses apart while your trying to get you baby in and out but it’s real awesomeness is it lasts longer than 6 months, 9 months in and we are only now starting to consider what our next step will be.
Really easy to use one lever to release it and get it out of the car, a wiggle or two and it clicks in to put it back in the car.
Did you ask is it bulky? We have a VW polo I’m 189cm tall and still fit in the passengers seat. Would I like a few extra clicks to move back? Yes, but I have enough room to sit still for an hour and not want to get out and walk.
You can stop reading now, just buy it.

The issues I have which is quite annoying for me is the padding for the buckle isn’t wide enough & the buckles dig in to bubs thighs & marks her (this makes me not want to use it) the magnets that hold the straps so you can put bubs in aren’t strong enough as they don’t hold which makes it hard when holding bubs & trying to hold straps our old capsule maxi cosi mico 6 had magnet tabs which held better this is a pointless function & makes hard to get bubs in by your self, the buttons to remove from pram are in such an awkward position with the handle & makes it feel like you will drop capsule

This is our 2nd new born capsule but total of 5th baby seat and we’ve only ever stuck with Maxi cosi for its well built quality and easiness to install and use whilst also being stylish which makes the wifey/missus happy!
