Bulla Choc Bar Jelly Top Vanilla & Raspberry
8 reviews
Spoilt my childhood memories – I loved jelly tips and when i saw the Bulla jelly top i thought yea! I bought some took them home, had one after dinner. That is No Jelly tip, i don't know what it is, the taste and texture is disgusting. Ruined my memories of lovely creamy ice cream covered in chocolate with soft tasty raspberry jelly on top...
You never know till you try – I never was a fan of Bulla Ice creams, but always loved the idea of jelly covered with chocolate, so I decided to buy a pack when these were at 1/2 price at Coles recently. I wish I would have read the reviews first, but as they say: "You never know till you try"... If you bought this product without knowing anything about it, like I did, not a… Read more
big drama. Good idea, as somebody has mentioned, is to wait 5 minutes after freezer before eating, I would also suggest start from the bottom vanilla part, then when you reach the jelly part it will be soft enough, otherwise you will be greatly disappointed.
Oh! This could be an idea for a Bulla to manufacture a new product "Bulla Choc Bar Jelly Bottom Vanilla & Raspberry". OK, sounds a bit off-putting:)
Not even close – Terrible. Not even close to the original, jelly should melt in your mouth and have that rich raspberry flavour. The jelly is hard and tasteless as if it was plastic. Please stop making it.Dont spoil a child hood ice cream.
Tastes like plastic – I've never heard of Tip Top Jelly Tip ice cream so I'm not comparing Bulla's Jelly Top ice cream to anything except maybe some tasteless frozen plastic. Def not buying this again.
It really isn't Jelly – I had super high hopes because Tip Top Jelly Tip in New Zealand is my absolute favourite. My understanding is Bulla purchased Tip Top here in Australia, so was really expecting it to be the same, but it's not, it's a massive disappointment. The jelly isn't jelly, it isn't soft, it isn't jell like, it doesn't wobble it's hard and doesn't have a good flavour.
Disappointing – Sorry but I was expecting these to be very close to jelly tips from my childhood. The jelly was an awful texture and was a big let down. Hopefully you can improve. Maybe I should not have had such high expectations.
not a jelly tip – The jelly top was disappointing it was hard not jelly at all / not like the 80s jelly tip nice a soft gel like I will not be buying this product again
Definitely liked them, but room for improvement – I did like these, and remember my Mum raving about Jelly Tips as a kid, but in the past any time anyone had attempted jelly in an ice-cream bar it has been icicle-y, so I was excited to try these to say the least! I definitely recommend leaving them out on the counter for a few minutes (the longer the better) to get the jelly a little softer, and… Read more
overall I would say the jelly is too hard, although willing to look past that considering there were no icicles. The only downside to the bar apart from the hardness of the jelly, is the flavour of the jelly wasn't overly delicious. It just seemed too fake or something. I wasn't a fan. I did like these, but I won't try them again unless they change the recipe. Someone else might like them though. I'm not a fan of artificial tasting flavours - even though it says no artificial colours or flavours, they don't taste right. Maybe the gelatine mixture has mucked with the flavour.
