Outstanding customer service. They went above and beyond to help which is very rare to find these days. There double over double bunk bed quality is second to none and something I was unable to find in store. I have never written a review but these guys deserve it. Highly recommend! Show reply
We searched a lot of places to find a double in double bunk. We purchased from Bunkers as we liked the look of it. The bunks are fantastic. They are sturdy, well made and stylish. The instructions were very clear. We live in a rural area and we’re able to collect from the Melbourne warehouse.mthe whole process was simple and throughout, the customer service was excellent. Can’t rate this product or company high enough. Show details · 1
I purchased a mid line king single loft for my son 2 years ago. We are very happy with it. The quality is fantastic for the price. Very sturdy. I feel safe sleeping on it when my son wants to sleep with dad!
Solid old school feel bunk bed. Love it – I bought the queen loft bed a year ago and it has been superb. We previously bought a loft bed from harvey norman and it felt like it was going to fall apart. The Bunkers bed is solid as a rock and all timber. Well worth the wait and it really feels like the type of bed my kid can have fond memories get older in. Show details
Avoid at all costs – Waited months and months and months for the product ("Queen Loft Bed Super Desk Space Saver"), arrived damaged, and I've had to repair it as it has slowly come apart. But now the fixes are harder and harder to accomplish; has basically fallen to pieces so that it all needs to be thrown out. $2500 down the drain. Add to this singularly bad customer… Read more
service and you really have completely catastrophic experience, all told. Arguably the worst purchase I've made in my life.
Great beds, worth the wait – Fantastic beds. Wait time was as stated, called them to check, and if anything was a bit earlier then quoted. But they are actually solid furniture. Everything we found in a store was flimsy MDF and didn't come close to the quality. Our boys love them, great purchase! Show reply
Best bed you'll ever own - buy for life – We're so pleased with our Bunkers experience. I had a Bunkers loft bed as a child and it's still going today as a hand-me-down, 35 years on. When it was time to get a loft bed for my own child, we looked at other options but nothing was close to the quality and price of Bunkers. Yes, there's a wait, but that's because your piece is custom built -… Read more · 1
it's solid pine, and the sturdiest (read: safest) bunk you'll ever own. The drawers are great quality, too. The price is very competitive for the quality, particularly factoring in home delivery interstate. Assembly is straightforward with minimal tools, and everything went together easily.
We look forward to another 35+ years with our newest Bunkers bed.
Buy Australian made instead – I wish I had read the reviews sooner. I ordered my bunks in mid September and had to pay in full at the time of ordering. I have finally cancelled my order after being told of yet another delay and that my bunks would now not be arriving until February. This is the 3rd or 4th time (I've lost count) that the delivery date has changed, each time… Read more
with a different excuse. I finally cancelled as I could not be sure that I would even receive them in February. The staff were initially very friendly and helpful but once I had ordered and paid that all changed. I received abrupt emails simply beginning with my name and no greeting. Who writes an email like this?? Maybe a robot? It made me feel like I was the one with the problem. I certainly didn't appreciate being addressed in that manner. I will be purchasing my bunks elsewhere from a company who offer quality Australian made goods.

Terrible quality products with a premium price tag - avoid!! – The staff in store and over the phone are helpful, polite and overall wonderful which is what makes this review so hard to leave. It a shame they are selling such a poor quality product but this is not the same bunkers quality of 10 years ago, everything appears to be made offshore and repacked (badly) locally. We ordered 3 king single beds with… Read more
trundles and under bed drawers, it was really disappointing to realise what a mistake we made shelling out over $6k for super a-mart quality as we started to build them.
Main issues: - A large compete panel from underbed drawers was missing from a box! It had to be dispatched separately leavings us with a half built product. - The fasteners supplied are extremely cheap, soft and the painted finish had already chipped off in the bag from shipping - A trundle castor has already broken before a child has slept on it, what hope do they have for the long term! - Scratches on many visible panels, they were packed well so much have happened during manufacture or repackaging - The laminate is paper thin and chips just by looking at it. The accuracy of the holes is terrible resulting a really poor finish and things already coming undone - The underbed blocks were pre-drilled too big so the supplied screws (which were also way too short) didn't bite. We had to supply our own fasteners from Bunnings to get it built - Two of the 3 beds ordered required some slats to be cut down with a jigsaw to fit in! They were cut very crooked from the factory. Yes the bed frame was square and they still didn't fit. - The underbed drawers had no pre-drilled holes for the elevation plates!! Nor were their pre-drilled holes for the under bed blocks to attach to the elevation plates - The manual is like a choose your own adventure around how all the blocks and plates attach... perhaps because there are no holes attached? Also there is no complete manual for the product you purchase. You have to jump between a few manuals to work out how it all goes together. - The elevation plates holding the drawers up under the bed are too small resulting in a big bow in the draw frames. I checked my floor level, used packers and still they are too short. Overall it looks terrible - The "middle" label stickers use some sort of adhesive that is impossible to peel off. Took isopropyl alcohol to get the goo off so they are not visible. - The drawer knobs were supplied with a mix of different fasteners gauge and lengths! Looks like someone dug them out of a jar in the corner of the factory.
Poor quality, lengthy wait times and expensive – Wish I had read the reviews. My daughter was desperate for a desk bed, and found exactly what she wanted at bunkers-the loft bed over the desk. She was so excited but like others reviewers, we waited an extended time for the bunk. I kept following up and they kept saying there were delays. I ordered on 10/3 and they had originally said 8-12 weeks… Read more
for delivery, which was fine. It ended up being delivered on 15/7, 18 weeks later! Customer service were apologetic and sent a free pillow to apologise. We got someone to set the bed up for us and when the items arrived several pieces were damaged. We got a free re-assembly for some replacement parts but other replacement parts were delayed. When the delayed parts arrived bunkers said we should be able to do it so they won’t pay again for it to be reassembled with the replacement parts. All this would be frustrating but acceptable if the quality was good, and it was worth the hassle, but unfortunately it isn’t. The cupboards on top of the desk are completely free standing so slide around constantly. The desk part of the set sits on top of the drawers and isn’t securely attached in my opinion. The desk part is also chipping and cracking in several places and a massive part of the vanish has snapped off. This desk is less than 3 month old and it looks completely worn and my daughter has barely used it. My daughter is devastated and I will eventually need to replace the desk part with a desk from another company as this one is such bad quality. The bed part of it is fine which is something. But, had I known, I just would have bought the one from ikea!

Avoid Bunkers – This company has driven me to writing my first review. How is this business still taking orders/surviving? What a shambles. Like every other review here, we had the same problem of broken promises and it never arriving. If only we looked at the reviews first. 9 months after ordering we finally pulled the pin and got our money back. Non stop waffle… Read more
emails always with the same excuse. Thought we were buying quality not cheap imports. Feels a bit like getting caught up in a drop shipping business that doesn't know how to drop ship. Avoid! Thanks, Ben.
Poor quality and poor customer service – We purchased a Captains Bed (in white) in the middle of February 2021 and received the bed almost 3 months later - and only because I asked them a few times when we would receive it. While the staff seemed quite apologetic, as a business Bunkers wants to blame their suppliers and not take any responsibility themselves. I am guessing they hold very… Read more
little stock, so the trend of "just in time ordering" is no longer a suitable business model. Like others have commented, I did receive the standard email of " ... it has been a challenging year ... we want to be transparent etc etc". Simply not good enough.
To make matters worse, the paint on the headboard was scratched. When I sent them the photo and asked for some paint to fix it myself, their response was: "Sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately we do not have our hands on the top coat of paint used. The operations manager has told me he recommends any white ‘satin’ oil based paint."
This is extremely poor. Apart from timber finishes, the only colour they sell is white. How hard would it be to keep a supply of small tins of paint?? I could have even picked up the tin myself.
I will never ever use Bunkers again. They take your money for 3 months, they don't take any responsibility for delivery delays, and they don't take any responsibility for damages.

Waited 7 months, terrible customer service – We ordered two loft beds in July, Bunkers promised them by October but we did not receive them until January. The customer service was appalling, they offered no compensation and very little in the way of apology apart from blaming everyone in their supply chain but themselves. My advice would be to order from somewhere else. Bunkers is not… Read more
interested in its customers, just in getting you to place the order and pay. To arrange delivery they put you onto a transport company, absolving themselves of all responsibility. The beds are okay, nothing you can’t get somewhere else.
