described. “Bush Bee” sell kits with different size brushes and different lengths of rods. The brush is a very stiff “ plastic” bristle type than was flexible enough to go past the air baffle near the bottom of the chimney. Kit comes with a wooden handle that fits the brush. The “rods” are approximately one metre long and made of heavy twisted wire with the male and female fittings swaged on. I attached one rod and thrust it up and down to clean the first metre, added another rod and did the next metre. I dislodged plenty of soot and absolutely no chance of falling. I also could do it unaided whereas in previous method, my wife had to hold the ladder whilst I ascended and descended, as well as, pull the rope down, whilst I pulled it up. Whole kit looks like it will last 20 years plus.
